Has anyone here lost between 70 to 100lbs? Do you any issue with (minor) loose skin and/or stretchmarks? I'm 5'5, small framed, female...I was 218lbs at my heaviest (at age 15), and now I usually weigh between 128-138 (depending on what time of the year it is :p)...It took me three years to lose that weight, and so far I've maintained my weight loss since age 18 (I'm turning 23 next month)...although I'm glad to say that most people cannot tell that I was once obese or even overweight, I DO have abit of looseness in my lower belly, accompanied by stretchmarks ofcourse :( my main problem is the tons of cellulite on my butt and thighs, and yeah, I have white streaks of stretchmarks pretty much everywhere, even where the skin is firm (arms, shoulders, breasts, torso sides, hips, thighs)...it took me sometime to accept myself this way, and I've cried many, many nights about this when I first lost the weight. However, yes, I'm thankful that I did lose the weight! And I'm thankful that I can wear fitted shirts and tight jeans and look 'hot', my figure is nicely balanced at 36-27-36 at 128lbs...very far off from my pre weight loss measurements of 44-41-48 eight years ago...I just hate the way I look when I'm naked or in my underwear...so ofcourse I can't wear bikinis, mini skirts, or even tank tops, I don't really mind anymore I guess...sigh...I've finally accepted my stretchmarks...body lifts or any kind of surgical procedure is not for me as I don't have much loose skin, other than on my lower belly (and no way will i ever considering a 'mini' tummy tuck as I'm too young and I plan to have lots of kids someday...might as well wait...as for my boobs, thankfully there is only minimal sag, it was more of a loss of volume and I intend to save up and refill the lost volume with implants)...but the deep dents and dimples on my butt and thighs are driving me nuts...hoo boy my butt is the worst although funnily it looks nicely rounded in my jeans...once I take em off...it's dent city (yes it really is that bad!)! I was never much of an exercise freak, its usually just brisk walking, jogging or pounding the treadmill...never tried lifting weights or any muscle toning exercises (as reccommended by personal trainers and exercise freaks), because i was told once u get great results from lifting weights, should u ever completely stop, u'll just end up worse and flabbier!

I'm planning to lose some weight I've gained last christmas...lol...I'm 138 now (happens almost every year, it goes up and down 10lbs)...and I'd like to get down to 117 pounds, which is more suited for my small frame, and will hopefully help with improving any bit of flabbines and cellulite (yes, they do look les noticeable the slimmer u get, although they don't completely go away...so maybe there's hope for the annoying dents, dimples, and linner thigh flab! lol)

I was just wondering if anyone else out there would share their experiences, the effects of weight loss on their bodies, especially those who have lost around 70-100 pounds? How have u dealt with it, and have u taken any steps in improving and toning your body post weight loss?

Thanks! Can't wait to hear your stories.

I lost about 75 lbs in a year. I have stretch marks and cellulite. Granted I'm a guy so I don't really care that much. I just look at it as a reminder that I never want to gain the weight back. I exercise 4-5 days a week but I doubt they'll ever go away.
I lost a little over 100 pounds and have maintained the weight loss for a year. I'm turning 40 next month. This is, I think, the third time in my life that I've lost more than 50 pounds at a time so I've got LOTS of loose skin. My body just can't snap back like it used to when I was younger.

I feel alot healthier and stronger now that I'm at a normal weight and so I try not to worry about the batwings under my arms and the saggy belly. No amount of exercise or weight training will completely take them away, although I work hard at trying. Maybe someday I'll think about surgery but right now, I'm just enjoying the fact that I can fit into a size 6!
So far I have lost 127 pounds. I do have 30 left to go to be at a healthy BMI (current weight: 167) and I do have loose skin even on my breasts, stomach, legs, ARMS. You name it, it's a little (some places a lot) wrinkled.

I may possibly have a full body lift when all is said and done; and after I have children. I have just accepted that my suit no longer fits me like it once did, and I can't dread on it. At least I have my health back!

Of course with strength training and exercise, your skin should tone up pretty well. As you mentioned, its not much to tone. And with a little more diet to get down to your small frame, you should see the excess fat in your tush shrink. :)

Hope that helps!

congrats to everyone on their weight loss, and x17star17x thanks for the tip, and good luck! a body lift would be an awesome gift to give yourself after all the hard work u put in losing weight! my mum and sister are both morbidly obese and they will be getting body lifts together once they reach their goal weight and i totally support them, can't wait to see the beams on their faces after acheiving healthier bodies along with a nicer physique!
I only lost 40 and I have stretchy skin now.
It's because of the rapidness of the loss.
I lost 160 pounds 7 years ago!  I have lots of loose skin and stretch marks.  I have had no work done because I don't want to be laid up.  As far as money goes, I'm not sure it's worth spending that much to make myself look better to impress someone else.  Besides, where would I stop?  Arms, legs, boobs, tummy, butt?  Is there enough plastic in the world to fix all that???  (He he!)
lost 168... lose skin EVERYWHERE... and have done the consultation for a full body lift,.. I would need 40 pounds of skin removed according to the doc... (what a QUICK way to lose 40 pounds, huh?)

But like most others on here... I think you feel sooooo much better without that skin being FULL OF FAT it's just not that much of a priority... but I do CARE!
I have lost 100+ pounds (stopped getting on the scale around 260 :p) over about four years.  I had gastric bypass, which only brought a loss of fifty pounds, but made it possible to lose more on my own.  I have serious loose skin all over.  I want to lose another ten pounds, maintain for a year and then have major "body contouring" surgery.  I had no elasticity to start and had five babies, so I started with lots of loose belly.  The thing about surgery is I want to do it for me.  Nobody can tell when I'm dressed that it is there, but when I look in the mirror I feel like I have totally failed because the body there doesn't reflect my hard work.  I'm really surprised that more people aren't considering it!  BTW, tamarascholtz, what did the doctor say it would cost for a full body lift?
I went to a very highly recommended surgeon in Houston... total cost was going to be around $30.000... three surgeries total

One for chest and stomach, one for arms and neck, and one for the lower part.

compressed and about two months recovery time.

I'll still probably do it when I get down to a healthy weight...

He did *suggest* you MAY be able to get insurance to defray some of the cost if you can prove it medically necessary... His suggestion was to acidentally lay out in the sun with irritants under (sorry this is so gross) any skin folds...

What can I tell you.. he did suggest it!
I lost 151 pounds and now weight 149 pounds (I am 5'8")~ inevitably I have excess skin around my tummy and a minimal amount of loose skin around tops of thighs and under arms (although this is improving the whole time) I lost 72 inches from my bod and now have 35 - 27 - 35 measurement. I expectedthe excess skin, that is a tremendous amount to lose. I would def have more had I not exercised my butt off for 2 years. thanks to that, I have saved certain areas from being much worse off had I just dieted. So I went to get a quote for a tummy tuck in London last week and was horrified at the price and theparticular medical establishment I went to. They were treating everyone like a commodity and a money making scheme. Disgusting so I have been put off for now. I am only 28 and have not had kids so maybe I will leave the op until I am a little olderand even more saggy in the stomach :)
I lost 110 pounds in a little under 2 years and I've been maintaining for almost a year.  I have some wubblyness in my thighs, moderatly floppy arms and a pouchy stomach.  i plan to get them tucked up surgically within the next few years.  in clothes you can see a bit of a pooch in the abdomen because I am cursed with the "midline fold" which kinda makes me have two tummy rolls, one which is hidden in my pants and one that can't me hidden without wearing pants up to my neck :)  Oh, well i'm still good lookin' and relatively slim.

My name is blake and last year and a half ago i was topping my highest weight at 270 pounds at 15 and a half years old. this all started when i was about 7 years old i gained weight every year. i knew i was a big guy but i dident really know how big i was untill i seen myself in a picture and i was like i had to do something. well i got a tredmill and it was really hard at first cause i wasent used to exerciseing but i pushed myself nevertheless gradually building up how long i ran and how fast but i wasent even thinking of getting loose skin i just wanted to be normal i wish someone would have told me cause im sure i lost the weight too fast and i dident muscle train at all all i did was run on the tredmill. i lost the first 40 pounds over that summer and lost around 20 that school year then another 50 the next summer now im 158 pounds and now ive just turned 17 not too long ago and ive got another problem LOOSE SKIN! where does it end seriously! i worked so hard and im still not normal..is that asking too much or something to be normal? i have loose skin mainly around my belly and arms. ive heard some people say itll go away with time cause im young and stuff but then ive heard i need to start muscle training which ive been doing for the past 3 months. i think its improved some but gosh i want it gone now lol. im going to keep workin at it im not a quitter but i do over push myself sometimes because im impatient now i have to go to the doctor and he said i had a low heart rate and he said i dident need to exercise too much. it sounds like i cant get anything i want haha
