Has anyone lost over 20 pounds and felt the same?
Hey everyone my name is s0s0 lol...well that is what I go by :). Anyways I'm not new to the site but I am new to posting and changing screen names here and there because of some difficulties. I lost weight pretty fast. I started off at 182 pounds on June 1, 2008 just by running and eating very healthy. I have lost 20 pounds officially 2 days ago, so I'm now at 162 pounds. Oh and by the way I am 5'6 Male. My question is, do you think I will gain all my weight back since I lost it fairly quickly. But again I eat very healthy and I am very active. My last question is...doe anyone felt the same after losing 20 pounds? I sure got a lot of compliment on the weight loss but deep inside and in the mirror I felt and see that I looked the same :(. Is it naturally to feel this way? My goal is to be at 145 pounds. Thanks everyone I was juss worried about this.
I've lost 15 lbs but I got two inches taller, so it looks like more.
Seeing old pictures of myself, I think "wow, was I actually that fat?" but when I look in the mirror I feel the same way as I did before. People have told me I look better and different. I guess it hasn't registered yet.
Try looking in a lot of mirrors, and at pictures of how you used to look compared to now. Change the way you look at your body. I think it's normal, especially because your weight loss was so fast and you're more used to your 182 lb body compared to the slimmer one. A lot of people, I've heard, who had trouble dating when bigger often tend to even after weight loss because they don't realize that they look good. It's a weird feeling.
I hope you feel differently soon.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! You definately made me feel a lot happier :)
Glad I helped : )
But man, I know exactly how you feel! I lost about 50 lbs and still don't see a difference when I look in the mirror! It's the strangest thing...it's like I don't remember how I used to look when I would look in the mirror or something. When I look at pictures I can see a difference, but I rarely ever look at my pictures haha..I have other things to do!
I've done everything I can to try and help it..but even taking my measurements doesn't help! I'm shocked to see the numbers when I take my measurements because I just think, "No way!" I don't see myself like others do, or like I am I guess, but hopefully my brain will catch up with my body.
Did you take your measurements before you started losing weight? Maybe if you took them again and compared you would feel better too =) I didn't take mine before I started so maybe that's why it's not helping me much.
Just keep at it though, and keep taking pictures and comparing!
in currently 17 about to be 18 in a month and when i was 13 i lost weight like hell lol i was kinda short about 5'0 and lost about 30 lbs during which time i grew to 5'5 so it seemed like a whole lot tho i really saw little to no difference at all but if i put my before picture to my then current picture it was a world off difference.... but to answer the question even though I had lost so much weight and dropped from a tight fitting large to a well fitting medium I pretty much saw myself the same and only saw a difference in the numbers and the pictures but not in my mind or the mirror...
Yes i know how that feels. I lost 40 lbs by severely restricting myself to a low calorie/low fat diet and got to a point where it became unhealthy, and people told me so, yet i still was not happy with my body. I have begun eating more in order to increase my metabolism and i have gained weight but i realize it is better for my body to be healthy- i wasn't happy when i was really thin anyway, and to have an unhealthy relationship with food to the point where it affected me socially (never wanted to go to family parties, out to eat, etc.)
deflepfan16 - Nope I did not take any measurement but hey thanks for asking, the next time I go over to my buddy's house I will :)
raekiar - I feel the exact same way u are feeling right now. I really hope that I'll learn to appreciate my new look. I guess I have to be patient and juss be happy with the results I got :)
and thanks everyone else for the comments..you guys are awesome and right now I'm learning to just stay positive and be happy :)
