I havent lost the weight yet, but I do know that if you lose slowly, the skin will gradually tighten up.  If you are 30+ it may not go all the way back, ar may not firm up nearly as fast, peak skin elasticity is when you are ages 18 and under.... I want to lose 70 lbs, and I'm hoping that at 20 my skin goes back (I think it will, cause I already had some gaping 1"+ wide marks shrink into tiny white scar lines!)   Also, creams with vitamin E and/or Cocoa butter can help along the firming!
On another thread, someone posted a link to a you-tube video. It was of a guy who'd lost like 400 pounds (without gastric surgery). Although he looked great in his clothes, he did have major skin hang. However, that was a lot of weight that he lost.
I have lost 41 lbs and no hanging skin yet.......

If you're really concerned, start using some products on your skin like jojoba oil, almond oil, or - as someone already posed - cocao butter.  Mmmm... it smells like chocolate.  Also, shea butter is great.

Start taking a fish oil supplement like an Omega 3-6-9.  Omega-6's are great for the skin, hair, and nails, and should help it gradually shrink along with the rest of you.
GB is quick weight loss and results in hanging skin more so than losing it slowly.  Be aware though, once your skin stretches and especially if you are older your skin lacks the collagen that it needs to bounce back, so ultimately you will have some.  Now for younger folks, under 30 they are lucky and would be more likely to bounce back to norm.
i know someone, and she is my age (17ish) and she lost over 60+ pounds -she was really big- and everything shrank fine on her skin except her arms. her arms are still really big but her body is small.
I have lost 135 lbs. I do not have hanging skin.
Awesome. Thanks everyone for your help.

I am 27 so hopefully things will shrink back... when i lose it. haha.

I've lost over 80 pounds and I don't have major loose hanging skin, I'm working on toning under my arms and inner thighs to tighten everything. I still have 20 pounds to go and it's all in my stomach :P
I'm 29 and I've lost 92.5lbs so far and *knock on wood* nothing appears to be hanging or any looser than it was when I started.  Granted I still have 87.5 to go but so far so good.  I've never been toned or tight so I was hoping to tighten things up as I lose the last 30lbs or so.
I lost 95 pounds and I have some loose skin, however before I lost that weight  I also had 4 kids. With all that streching I'm sure that caused some if it.
I'm 24, have had no kids, and have lost about 85 lbs in the past year. The only places I've noticed slight sag is in my boobs (boo) and in my upper arms (I'm an hourglass so I still carry some weight there).

Everywhere else has done a pretty fantastic job of tightening up on its own.
I think it depends on the person and where they carry thier weight and how fast they lose it.   I have lost 84 lbs and I dont have the loose hanging skin .. I have lost slowly over the last 2 years.   I guess I consider myself lucky that I dont have it.

My sister has lost quite a bit of weight rather rapidly and she has hanging skin on her legs and it seems to show in her face too.

My husbands aunt has had Gastric Bypass and she has hanging skin and has considered an operation.
