Do you lose well on it? I hate going too low carb and feel happier on this.

There is no reason to go low carb. Low carb is not healthy and that is why you don't feel right.
Good carbs, though, that I would recommend. Try to get around 50% of your calories from whole grains, veggies and fruits (ie. carbs).

I like to go low carb to lose most of the weight and then mostly eat good carbs later.
there's no point to go low carb..especially that low carb..i've tried this diet and happily lost the weight and gained it all back..i noticed u said that u were goin to switch to good carbs after....good carbs are healthier, however, u'll still gain weight since u went from eating so little carbs to eating more carbs whether they're good or bad..I say instead of trying to avoid all carbs..avoid maybe white carbs..like white rice and white bread..go for brown rice and wheat bread....However, my best advice is to just watch the amount of food u take in and ur cals..u don't have to completely cut out something from ur diet..it's just no realistic.
hope i helped :)
I could never do that low of carbs. I love my fruit and whole grains too much. :)
Carbs are a necessary part of one's diet. According to the Mayo Clinic "Carbohydrates are your body's main energy source. Complex carbohydrates include legumes, grains and starchy vegetables, such as potatoes, peas and corn. Simple carbohydrates are found mainly in fruits and milk, as well as in foods made with sugar, such as candy and other sweets."
Recommendation: Get 45 percent to 65 percent of your daily calories from carbohydrates. Emphasize complex carbohydrates, especially from whole grains and beans, and nutrient-rich fruits and milk. Limit sugars from candy and other sweets

ok i keep my carbs between 40 and 60 daily. the reason 1. i am hypothyroid and low carbing works best for me.
2. i am a carb addict and they play havoc with my body.
3. i still eat fruit and whole grain just not a lot.
i am losing just fine but remember no one plan fits all. this is jmo and what works for me. just remember though it is something i must stick with the rest of my life. i add carbs back very slowly to see how they will effect my body.

I tried low carbing (50grams a day) but it was to difficult....i was at over 200 carbs before....but i did learn to cut my carbs down now i usually eat about 100-120 carbs and it got me out of my plateau...I dont avoid carbs just like everyone else said...just gotta make sure I eat the good stuff....so i guess what worked for me was just cutting down on carbs.
I went to an integrative medicine doctor and she has put me on an unusual diet which ends up being somewhat low carb. This is because I have low thyroid and pre-diabetes.
This is a typical day for me. It usually works out to about 80 g of carbs.
I started this plan on May 31 and have lost 10 pounds. It's early yet, but this week I lost another pound...

- Breakfast - 3 egg white omelet with green onions & salsa, on a bed of raw spinach
- Snack - 1 oz. walnuts
- Lunch - Real big salad of veggies with lean protein, usually either a grilled chicken breast or plain tuna
- Snack - 1 oz. walnuts (or a low-fat mozzarella string cheese if I'm feeling deprived)
- Dinner - Fish or chicken, two green vegetables, small salad, baked apple or pear with cinnamon
- I can cook with olive oil, sesame oil or butter
- no wheat
- no dairy (except as mentioned above)
- no corn (or corn products)
- no sugar
- no splenda
- no equal
- no below the ground veggies (except for a few carrots, onion and garlic are OK)
- I can have up to 1 cup of rice a day if I feel I need it

If you maintain your carb count between 90 and 110 its still considered healthy and low carb. A suggestion, eat your complex carbs in the morning with a protein and after 12:30 make your meals protein and vegis. It works and you stay healthy.
All of you shouting, 'low carb=bad' really haven't done enough reading or seriously tried it for yourself...but then again maybe you went on the wronf type of low carb diet, like atkin when you should have tried paleo. Grains, whether they are whole grain or not, unrefined or refined, are empty calories just like cookies and cake are.
Actually, no. You are incorrect. Whole grains contain nutrients and fiber and are not empty calories. Some people may be sensitive to them, as there are people who are sensitive to dairy or protein.
I think Nomore says it best:
"There is no single dietary plan that is right for everyone, especially with regard to the need for carbs and protein."

Fiber is attainable through vegetables and nuts, and mass wise they are much more effcient for supplying fiber. But I won't get into an argument about the facts.
