Anyone have any minor injuries or boo boos from exercise?
Ha ha....like they say *no pain, no gain!*
I thought this would be an amusing topic.
We all know that working out hard can cause a few marks on our bodies...Care to share?
Well this past week I have endured bruises, a scrape on my butt from doing crunches, scrapes on each of my elbows from doing walking planks, a huge arse bruise on my back on my spine from not wearing the right kind of bra (stupid, stupid me.) and scrapes on my palms from the damn carpet I work out on.
Lmao....Man....I literally beat myself up in a workout!
Ooohhh!!! I got one! The time I slipped right off the damn yoga mat and gave myself a rugburn on my butt!
well, it was last year... but I broke my butt during nutcracker practice at dance. That was... an adventure.
i twirked a muscle in my neck/shoulder while doing laps in the pool. my left arm contracted & i started flailed around like a drowning. then i remembered i was in 4 foot deep water & stood up. duh.
i have a gnarly mystery bruise that comes & goes. it's on my left thigh just beneath where my shorts fall. awesome! everyone gets to see it.
i've got a scrape down the right side of my face right now. i was coming up from doing dumbell presses & somehow got myself all tangled up in my headphone cord. i managed to not only pull off my headphones but my mp3 player as well. the little bit that slips behind my ear got me on the cheek. i look like i got in cat fight.
it kinda wories me somethimes that i'm getting stronger. i'm gonna be strong and clumsy. god help us all.
While trail running last year I took a nasty fall after catching my toe on a rock. I jumped up and looked around to see if anyone had witnessed my spectacular maneuver, only to see 3 girls about 20 yards away pointing and laughing.
In a nearly deserted gym eariler this year I was zoned out and slipped off the back of a treadmill. No major injuries, only alittle "belt burn" on my hand.
Lets see. I had road rash on my hips at least 6cm across, road rash on the elbows, and fractured wrist.
Playing competitive basketball I have broken my ankle, broken my nose/eye socket, dislocated my hip, and tore two tendons in my thumb...
Keep in mind this was playing 6 days a week almost year round for 8 years
I get random bruises on my knees from banging into stuff while I'm trying to work out. I also end up with weird scratches somehow.
A huge honkin' bruise on my right thigh from falling on the same side every time I go ice skating.
Ooh good topic :)
I still have a chunk of skin that's not completely healed (or it's scarred) on my right shin from trying to jump up onto a step that was as high as my knees during a training session at the gym. I chickened out at the last second and, mid-air, tried to land back on the floor and ended up with one foot on the stool and one I attempted to put back on the ground but ended up scraping down my shin on the stool. Hurt like all heck and there is still a weird dent on my leg from that.
I almost always have a bruise on my tailbone from doing abs. Same for the base of my neck where I set the barbell when I do squats.
My hands are getting calluses from weight lifting. I've also had nasty red streaks on them for at least a full day after doing an exercise where you had to hang for as long as possible (I was using a bar where it had the bumpy grip etched into the metal - ouch!).
Just the other night I was kicking the punching bag with dumbells in my hands, and I ended up kicking the dumbell. It didn't feel good, but it only left a teeny little scratch on my shin that's gonna heal in a few days, which stinks. If I have to be in pain, I at least want it to be worth it, you know? LOL.
So, one day I was at the gym, just minding my own business, finishing up a set of curls in the squat rack, and a dumbell came flying through the air out of nowhere and hit me right in the side of the head...

Oh my god! That's horrible! Did the person who threw it at least apologize? Geez, I probably would have been knocked out. Lmao! How many pounds was the weight? Yikes.
Wow, a lot of bad injuries here. The things we endure, huh?
Yeah, my knees are pretty banged up as well, mostly due to the fact that I have to cheat while doing push ups...I'm a weakling when it comes to lifting my own body weight I'll admit it. Lmao! My knees however are not appreciating it....![]()
My right ankle has been messed up for the past 3-4 days from jumping around too much (I'm assuming???) and for 2 days straight I couldn't do anything but lay around because my lower back hurt whenever I tried to move!
I've had some really spectacular bruises from playing soccer. My favorite was when I took a hard shot with my legs pressed together and the ball hit me right in the middle, so I had matching bruises, half the size of the ball, on each leg. Very cool!
I sprained the ring finger on my right hand somehow in the last couple of days, probably from jamming it into something either at the barn, or while working out. I get random bruises all the time, pulled muscles... nothing major *yet* though, wait 'til I hit the bike this spring though. That will be traumatic I'm sure lol.
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
