Anyone 21 years old, 5"2, and about 115 pounds???
Hey, I am 21, 5"2, and 115 pounds and want lose 5 pounds. If I am not careful with calorie counting I will continue to just gain and gain. I need help and support!!! Are there people who match my numbers who want to "start a club" and motivate each other???

What sort of activity level are you? Do we need to start a group for motivation?
Bas: I started out at 126 and I've lost 10 pounds! I'm moderately active, 1 hour of exercise 4-5 days a week, I also live in a 5th floor apartment and I pretend like elevators don't exist (I don't make them an option. ever.). I also don't have a car so I do a lot of day-to-day walking. I eat on average 1700 calories and lose about a pound a week. When I started dieting I started eating a lower amount (1200-1300) while keeping up the activity and then slowly upping it by about 100 calories a week or so until I found a happy place where I could be satisfied. I do a calorie average so I eat at around maintenance levels on weekends (2200 friday and saturday) and sometimes thursday as well depending on what I'm doing. Then on the other days I eat 1400-1600 and it averages nicely :)
I also didn't go by any calculators to get my burn rate. I started out eating a small amount and then looking at how much weight I lost each week and then doing some math to figure out my average deficit. I do this every week and I almost always come out with a number that makes sense....around what CC tells me I burn between moderately and very active.
I'm 25, 116.5lbs and 5'2" as well! My goal is 110 also. I was probably really close to it earlier this year when I got married, but since have started grad school and moved across the country and have gained...I would love to be a part of this group if I'm not too late? There are all those threads about finding your cc twin and it seems like we are all pretty close. :)
Im 21, 5' 2" and 125! My goal weight is my weight before I started a new college this semester - 105 lbs.
im just restarting a weight loss regime, and i REALLY want to stick to it!
I also used to be 105 but I feel like it would be really hard to get back to that. How many calories do you eat a day? What is your wieght loss regime?
I'm 20, 5'1, and 115, down from 120 when i was still drinking. My goal right now is 105 and I'm eating 1,200 calories a day and satisfied with the tiny, tiny weight loss i've been achieving over time.
for us, it's not really a weight issue, it's a vanity issue. i try and keep that in mind as i'm losing/counting/working out...i'm at a good weight right now, and so are you, so just keep that in mind.
anyway, it's pretty hard for me, because i love me some rum and coke, and i've got such a sweet tooth (candy is the devil!), but i've got a bikini that i want to wear in Hawaii and i feel like ten lbs lighter would make me a lot more confident.
anyway, that's me.
Wow, good job cutting out drinking! My weakness is wine, and it would probably help me a lot to cut it out. How long did it take you to get 5 lbs off? I think that's a lot of weight loss for anybody around our height. It's basically a pants size.
I'm training for an 8K on Thanksgiving, so that's my current motivation to go to the gym. This weekend I've been pretty good about working out, but calorie-wise I haven't been counting and that generally doesn't mean good things for weight. I guess I'll try not to do the whole "the weekend's blown so just keep eating crappy and start new on Monday" thing. I guess I'm starting new now. :)
Do you 5"2ers think it is harder for us to lose 5 pounds than it is for taller people?
Calobsesor- yes. 5lbs is WAY harder for us to lose than a taller person. their BMR is higher, so they naturally burn more calories. but on the other hand, losing 5lbs SHOWS on us, whereas you prolly can't tell the difference between 6'1 sitting at 200lbs and 6'1 sitting at 210.
5togo - i still indulge occasionally, but back when i was 120 i was drinking SEVERAL every single night. i dropped 3 lbs the first week i quit drinking and i've been losing roughly .5lbs a week since.
I totally get the whole "i'm kicking my own ass at the gym so i'm gonna eat what ever the hell i want" vibe. I'm in the military and my units fit standards are pretty tough...gym days are not "1200" calorie days. gym days for me, i treat them like maintaining days, eating roughly 1,600 cals. Meh.
Any way, like i said, it's vanity and a desire not to gain that's making most of us want to lose those extra lbs. even at 120 i wasn't a COW, i was just a teensy bit pudgier and WAY less healthly.
I totally agree with you that it is vanity and the fear of gaining that causes me to work out, count calories, etc. I eat 1400 calories a day and if I burn more calories exercising then I eat more than that- so it ussually comes out to around 1700. This system has been good for me because it pushes me to work out so that I am able to eat more rather than having to eat less the next few days. I am happier when I excercise but I need to the push to do it. If I knew that I would never gain wieght and maintain the 115 that I am now, I think I would be pretty happy.
Hey! I haven't weighed myself since summer, I was 113-115 depending on the day then, and I'm 20 and 5'2. I had dinner with my family yesterday and they said I looked slimmer so hopefully I'm closer to 110 now but I don't really know. My problem tends to be bingeing, so I've been working on stopping that. I work out alot so as long as I control my bingeing I can usually get to 110. Anyway, yes I want to be at 110...I'm weighing myself on Thanksgiving and hopefully I'm there! I binged today for the first time in a little while, so my goal is to not binge from now to Thanksgiving (at least) and see if I'm at 110! Mabe we can help support each other? It is hard for us short girls, especially since we're all pretty little already and it is just vanity weight. Ok good luck everyone!
what do you mean by binge? I think it means different things for different people and everyone tends to use that word quite often so I am just curious.
I'd love to join! binging is my problem too. My binges used to be 4-5000 calories :/ which is how i went from 100-115 in like a month. now the biggest one i've had is like 3000 and that was a while ago so i feel a lot better about that but my weight still hasn't budged. i'd like to get to 105-110. are we doing weekly weigh-ins or what?

Yes we do! And ya know- we dont get to eat as much as taller people even to just maintain our weight. I never thought that was too fair, lol.
so not fair. I'm always going around saying **** like "man, if i was 5'7 i could totally eat that Crunch bar and not think twice"
but alas, i officially stopped growing at 5'1, and drinking vitamin D milk is really only making me wider, not taller :)
