i have a question for you, maybe you can help me....

In our home page, there is a burn meter...i dont understand what it is...

The burn meter is the approximate number of calories you have burned so far during the day. You will notice that the number increases as the day goes on, and  the slightly darker blue shaded portion moves toward the top of the box.

When you workout and add your activities to your activity log, the number goes up by the amount of calories burned minus the number of calories you would have burned through things like breathing, keeping alive, thinking, etc.

Ideally, you want to burn at least 500 calories more per day then you eat. The max is about 1000. That's what we call a deficit. For instance, if I eat 2000 calories a day and I burn 2500, I have a daily deficit of 500 calories. Since each pound of fat has 3500 calories, in seven days you will lose one pound (7 X 500 = 3500).

Make sense?

Cheers,

Mike

Hi I'm from Ottawa too!  Thanks for the great explanation of the burn meter - that really helps!

Smiths Falls is an "interesting" place to live. There are some peope who are great. However there are others who give the town a bad image.
