Can anyone tell me how it works? I've always been curious =p

Would you recommend buying one?

I have one.  It's more of a hassle than it's worth.  It is a great way to get vitamins, however, it's also a good way to get a ton of calories and sugar very quickly minus any of the good fiber and fullness you would get by just eating whole fruit.  I guess it depends what you want it for.

I just put the fruit in the top and push down, much like a food processor.  Citrus fruits, and others with similar rinds need to be peeled first.  Apples can go through as is.

Why not just eat fruit?

I actually work for a juicer company and can tell you that if you are looking into buying a juicer go for something that is centrifugal. They are a lot easier to clean because they throw the pulp out into a seperate bin instead of keeping it inside the juicer. Also if you are interested in learning about the benefits of juicing theres a great book called Juice Alive. It is really interesting and also goes through a lot of different juices you could make to cure different aliments. Im reading it right now.

I also have one, clearly a different type from the one oompahead has.  It is only for citrus.  You cut the fruit in half and then push it down on a vaguely cone shaped thing that turns at high speed and squeeze a bit.  It gets all the juice out.  It works pretty well, but it is a bit of a hassle.  You would be suprised at how many oranges you have to go through for a single glass of orange juice.  But it can be awesome orange juice if you have good oranges!
