For anyone who has a polar F6, I have a really simple question
How big is the face of the watch? I have little itty-bitty wrists and I can't tell from the pictures how big it is. Could someone measure it for me (the female one)? Like how long it is before you can bend it to go around your wrist?
I also have a less silly question. Can you just wear the chest band a look at the calories burned later? Or do you always have to wear the watch?
I hate when people bump posts...but, uh, pretty please? I know there's a lot of you out there :)
I want to order it now because I can get a deal but there's only a few left ![]()
It's pretty big, but I'm at work, so I can't actually measure it. Guesstimating, it's about as wide as a golfball --- maybe 1.5 inches across?
You have to keep the watch somewhat close to the chest band for the information to be recorded. You could put it in your pocket, or if working on a machine, on the ledge, or whatever, but you can't leave it in the locker at the gym, because that would be too far away.
I often took mine off when weight lifting because it would bother me on some moves, but I would make sure it was on the floor next to me and it would still record the data.
Hope that helps!
Eek, that might be pushing it. My wrist is <2 inches wide. I better find one to try on before I buy!
My wrists are 6 inches around, and it's not been a problem for me. It is kinda bulky, but I think it probably needs to be in order to be readable while you are wearing it.
I don't think it's really going to be TOO big, but it can be uncomfortable for me when doing something where my hands are pressed back.... it presses into the back of my hand during pushups.
across is 1.5 inches, from top to bottom is 1.75 inches. It's a round face. Straps are a half inch thick.
thanks eileen!
I agree 100% with karozel - my wrist is 6" (about 2" across) and it fits fine, except when wrist are bent backwards. I like the face size because it has 3 lines of information that is easily seen (but it's not exactly "fashionable").
As a side note, I had just posted the below as a response to another polar question post:
I have had a Polar F6 for about 3 years and ironically just sent it back for service (battery replacement and a new transmitter) because it wasn't accurately keeping my heartrate. I realize 3 years is a long time and I wear it for some type of activity about 4 days a week, so I had no problem with the $50 invoice for its repair. Before this, I never had a problem with it - if anything, it usually registers higher calorie burn that what the gym machines compute.
My wrists are small as well (<6"), and have always opted for very delicate looking watches. I expected to just wear mine for exercise only as I thought it would be too big, but surprisingly ended up wearing it all of the time. Yes, its larger than my normal style, but its really not all that clunky and is actually shaped in a softer more feminine way than many of the others.
