Anyone quitting smoking?
I quit 1 year and 17 days ago. I smoked for over 25 years and after many failed attempts I finally quit cold turkey. I wish I had listened to people years ago. Not to mention the addiction itself but it makes your hair and clothes stink, IT AGES YOUR SKIN, ALL YOU YOUNG PRETTY GIRLS, not to mention it doesn't look very nice waiting at a bus stop or sitting on a park bench with a cancer stick in your mouth. No I have C.O.P.D. (google it, it will scare you)and I rely on oxygen to be delivered to my lungs buy a machine. So to all that have quit and to the ones that have only quit for an hour or a day. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Keep up the good work. P.S. I put on 55 lbs. should of kept better check on the old feed bag.
im very afraid of weight gain but i stepped back into the gym again today so hopefully ill keep this up stop it from happening!
Oh, it feels so good to know there are other people suffering just like me. jk Reading about everyones experience has encouraged me to try it again. I quit cold turkey and that lasted about 2 weeks. I felt so good and I was proud of myself for doing it. Then I got depressed. I really didn't know what was depressing me. I just felt hopeless and so, you know, the cure all was light it up. How do I get past that? and how long does the depression last?
I have been quit 4 months now on Champix. I found that I smoked about twice as long as they suggested before putting down the smokes and kept up with the drugs LONG after I stopped having cravings. I had one bad day when I put down the smokes and never looked back! I did a toxic cleanse with Isagenix and started working out hard and so far so great! Hope you stick with it, this is the best I have felt in 16 years. I found no red meat, nop caffiene and water water water helps ALOT. Good luck and congrats !!!!
chantix def helped me. however, i felt i was getting way too emotional and depressed on it. also, i was getting very short tempered. it could be because i delt with stress with cigs...but this time around...i had to deal with stuff in other ways and i honestly didnt like how i was feeling on the inside. with all that said...id still recommend it. i took myself off of it....just cuz i wanted to see if i could fly without it and see how i deal with stress by myself.
good luck with anyone whos trying to quit. i never thought i could but im happy i did so far. iv gotten through waking up, driving, going out to drink, breaks, etc...without cigs. ill be honest and say i found a cigar cig and deeply inhaled it without realizing what it was and just the thought of it makes me sick lol.
17 weeks! Coming up to 18! Odd cravings here and there but just let 'em pass me by! Plus I lost almost a stone in weight : )
