Its by Bethany Frankel of the real housewives on NYC. I LOVE her, and she has a sick body so I was thinking I would love her book. Anyone read it yet?

Are you talking about the 10 Habits of Naturally Thin People? I read that a few years ago. It's a lot of DUHHHHHH stuff. I

She is a natural foods chef and specializes in cooking healthy food. Her book is mostly anecdotal I think.. a kind of "what worked for me" book.. Whatever worked for her I want to know though because she looks great!
So, in other words, no.

People on this site give diet advice all the time without specific training.... including you.. what is your point?

Oh I'm quite sure she's spent the vast amount of her life undereating, so she's an expert in that. Now she's found a way to euphemize her strategies as "healthy eating" and even make some money off it. Very exciting!!! I can only imagine the original tidbits of advice she has to offer.
i haven't read it but i have a friend who calls it her bible. she made these really good banana chocolate chip cookies (the recipe was in the book) that were 35 cals each and soooo good.

ok.. not trying to pick a fight, I just wanted to know if anyone has read the book.. if you dont want to read it then don't.
i read naturally thin the week it came out and i loved it! it's honestly the only book i've found that explains all the principles i follow. i highly recommend it to everyone on this site :)
I love this book. I like her rational approach to food and weightloss, i.e., only you are in control of what you put in your mouth. When I read that, I swear, it was a major epiphany for me. She advises to be consciously aware of why you are eating...whether or not you are truly hungry.
it's amazing how mindless our eating (at least for me) really is. Now, I eat when I am hungry and stop before I'm full. Simple. She gives a lot of good doable tips...I stop eating before I finish half of the plate of whatever I'm eating. Just put the fork down and stop. It works. And amazingly, when I reflect, more often than not, I am really full.
So far, I am down 2 pants sizes! after 2 weeks ... It works!

Never heard of it. I don't watch TV much.
Love love love Bethenny and the whole housewives show.
I just read this book yesterday at the beach, while contemplating my fat thighs.
She really makes a lot of sense, and it seems really do-able. The most important points for me personally dealt with portion control. She basically says you can eat any food you want, as long as you each only a little of it, and if you really want it. (It has a lot to do with the European way of eating.) If you do make the choice to eat it, you have to balance out for this choice over the course of the day. She tells you to fill up on salad and other filling, fiber-rich foods before eating the more tempting foods, so that you can resist eating the whole thing. Portion control, conscious choices, conscious eating.
The recipes that conclude each chapter look amazing. Definitely going to try some.
Bethenny's body is out of control. Seriously. I would take her advise whether or not she was a chef, because her method obviously works.

To be fair, Sully isn't trying to profit from his advice the way she is. He gives it out as an amateur (along with all the caveats that accompany amateur advice). She is attempting to be a professional diet guru. Big difference, and it's reasonable to hold her to higher standards.
Aside from that, I don't know who she is, or what the book's about. I'll reserve judgment.
HI! I actually bough the book over the summer. I LOVED IT! Very inspirational, motivational, and insightful. It's a great read. :)
I got the book because I love her on the show - but it's basically a manual on how to be anorexic. It did make me feel better that people who look like her do because they don't eat, not because there's a magic secret.
