I am going in a few weeks for work and would love to squeeze a good hike in!

Thanks :)

I live north of Tampa along US 301. My favorite places to walk are in any of the state parks or the Fl Greenway. I personally don't like to hike in civilization. I haven't hiked in the Tampa region, so I don't know the parks specifically, but the Fl state park system is very good. It depends alot on whether you will have access to a car and how far you are willing to drive to get to a place.

Thanks for the reply! Sorry it is so much later. I have not gotten good at regularly checking the groups yet. I will have a car and will travel! Is there something you'd especially recommend within an hour or two?

The upper Tampa Bay trail is close. It's an urban trail with paved surface. The Ocala National forest is to the north of Tampa and has extensive hiking paths. There are dozens of state parks with well maintained trails. It depends on how isolated and wild you want to be.  The Ocala National Forest has some isolated areas.  I would spend some time on the Florida State Park web site and browse the possibilies.

I love the woods and rivers. The Silver Springs area is beautiful. In my area, I like to go to Olena State Park.

Have Fun!

Thank you for the tips! I'll let you know what happened.:)
