Hi there,

I love pilates and do some at home. I did used to go to classes but they got too expensive and are also very far away.

Can anyone recommend a good pilates dvd to do at home?

Thanks

I really like the 10 Minute Solutions Pilates dvds with Lara Hudson.  She doesn't keep jabbering, just presents the exercises in a precise manner.  These are broken into five 10 minute workouts, each focusing on a different area of the body-abs, legs, arms, etc.  You can do them all together or just one if you are in a rush.  I also like Denise Austin's pilates dvd-it's a little harder than the 10-min one, and Denise's enthusiam is a little overwhelming sometimes, but I just hit the mute button and follow along.

Thanks - the Lara Hudson one sounds good. Do you do a lot of pilates?

I used to do a lot more...will be starting the P90X this week, so I  probably won't be able to do my pilates like I used to.  I will try to do it at least once a week, if only for the relaxation ;)

The Windsor Pilates series is also good.

Hi - I'm a certified Stott Pilates instructor, so I'm of course biased, but Stott makes some great DVDs. They're a Canadian company, and one of the largest distributors of home equipment and DVDs.

The website is here http://www.stottpilates.com/

Stott emphasizes a bit more of an anatomical approach; Moira Stott-Merrithew, who developed the brand over 20 years ago, involved a lot of physiotherapists and sport medicine consultants to bring a more modern excercise and physio understanding to the Pilates approach.

I don't do Pilates anymore, but when I did I really liked Bryan Kest. He has a full blown NY accent which is kinda distracting if you're not used to it but the work out is very athletic and challenging

i love Windsor Pilates. shes great :)

I really prefer precision toning  with jennifer Kries to anything else I have used.

I found some on you tube that are good 10 minute sessions

Saves you having to spend money on dvds! Though if you would rather buy a dvd I suggest Darcy Bussels one :)
