And if so, what kind of things are you eating. I've only ever managed a B+ once and im usually in a B- sort of range.

i get A all the time. i eat everthing :-) but i guess 80 or 90% is veggies, fruit, lean meat, fish, while grains (bread) low fat dairy.

i grew up on basic food n meals n still eat like that. never knew what coke or mcdonals is until i was in my teens; great elaborate dishes are a bit overwhelming for me, so not hard for me to stick to the simple way.

can i help you with anything more specific?

Well, what are you, mdominey, eating?

I cook a lot, and I eat a lot of vegetables and some chicken and fish. I think avoiding pre-packaged, processed stuff helps.

I have to type most things in, so I don't concern myself with that. Cry

I get an A all the time. I don't know exacty why. I guess its cause it is primarily veggies, fruits, and whole foods. I don't eat meat/chicken or cheese. Only fish or shrimp once a week. Beans, lentils, nuts and Peanut butter are my protein. If I have bread its whole grain. Occcasionally I have red wine or beer and it usually doesn't drop it down below B+.

My average is a B+ and I've had lots of A days (and sadly a few C+ days too!).  I eat fruits and veggies, usually some lean meat (96% lean beef, chicken breast, turkey breast, or fish) and try to keep the processed and frozen stuff to a minimum... although I am in love with the new Amy's Pizza Margherita.  String Cheese is one of those foods that kills me - because I love it so, but it's a "C" grade food.

And yes, I do also eat chocolates and such, but I also eat fruit or veggies to make up for it.

I average an A or A- most days.   My typical menu would be.

  • Breakfast - Poached eggs on wholegrain toast
  • Lunch - A wholemeal pitta filled with something like roast beef, mustard, mayo and salad.  A low-fat yoghurt.  A piece of fruit
  • Supper -  A home-made dish (often vegetarian) such as Cauliflower and Potato Curry served with basmati rice.  Occasionally a glass of wine or a piece of chocolate.
  • Snacks - nuts, fruit, hummus with veggie sticks

I also usually get A or A-, a couple of B- at worst.. But I'm confident that's just because I snack on vegetables all the time :)

If I have a "bad" day, I add a couple of carrots and suddenly I'm having an excellent day, haha.

i average an A, A- with the occasional B+

  • fruits and veggies every day.
  • whole grains.
  • varied proteins, both lean and not so lean, nuts, etc.
  • fats. i make sure i get my healthy fats. olive oil, nut oil, fishes.

very little eating out. only small servings of chocolate. it dosent seem to lower my grade too much, nor does the occasional cocktail, despite its F rating.

lately my fiber has been low, so thats the number im watching most. like plingu says, eat a carrot or some fresh snap peas and my grade goes back up.

I average about and A- usually.  I eat no red meat and only turkey and chicken..I also love c rated string cheese, will try the low fat kind.  Usually eat a lot of veggies, fruit smoothie for breakfast and lots of fiber 25-30 gr a day, splenda with fiber helps with that too.  I find if I eat this kind of food I fill up quick and am easily able to stay below my calories or sometimes pretty close.  It helps that I am allergic to nuts and chocolate and don't drink soda or alcohol.  Keep trying, I am sure you are doing great!Laughing

Funny you should mention alcohol's F rating.  After I posted, I went in and looked and I did have an F day... I had a major hangover and all I could keep down was berry chai and a fruit cup from Starbucks and then when I felt better I went out drinking again..... Yeah, that probably wasn't the best idea :)

Moral of the story - drinking is bad kiddies.  Mmmkay!

I didnt look back farther than this month but I cant remember the last time I was rated under an A.
Im allergic to many things and while I have lots of variety in my meals the ingredients are usually about the same week to week.

My normal "staples" are:

Oatmeal
Egg whites (I think the yolks are not that great tasting personally)
Broccoli, cauliflower, GREEN BEANS mmm, spinach, lettuce, mushrooms
Salmon
Tilapia
Tuna
Strawberries, peaches
Peanut butter
Chicken
Turkey
Tofu
Cinnamon and chili powder

You said you are allergic to a lot of stuff...me too!!  But it seems like ur staples contain most of the stuff I am allergic to.  What r u allergic to???

I have Cealiacs disease and Im lactose intolerant. I also had some rather serious complications after a cholesysectomy and I can only handle small amounts of fat.
So it cuts out pretty much all baked foods, most processed foods, all dairy and alot of fatty things.

Whenever I log my food I always get an A for the day... probably because I stick to lean proteins & lots of fiber rich vegetables. I never eat packaged goods, only fresh, frozen or canned (no salt added) vegetables & fresh, frozen or canned protein like Salmon, Mackerel, Tuna, Sardines, Anchovies, Sable Fish, Eel, Grass-fed Beef, Bison, Elk, Ostrich, Venison, Goat, Lamb, Chicken & Turkey Breast & Eggs.

Tonight I am having eggplant, spaghetti squash, onions, ground beef (GF) & spinach! No processed ANYTHING!

I almost always get an A-.  My sodium tends to be a little high for the A.  I aim for less that 20% cals from fat, at least 30 grams of fiber.  I eat whole grains and whole grain products, vegetables, fruit, non-fat dairy, lean proteins.   I have my treats, but they make up a small percentage of my daily food.  I eat as little processed food as I can manage, I have some now and again, but don't eat it all the time.  A B day is rare for me.

I started at 252 in Jan08 was at 170 by Aug 08. I get an A regular which makes my wife ill. You need to watch all the items on your analysis, sat fat ,carbs, fiber, protien ect. I was anal and cut myself to1500 to 1600 calories a day for 3 months and now 14 months later and quiting smoking I have kept it to 180 but I will tell you it is a killer.Forget fast food altogether ,I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables and boiled chicken breast and usually a salad with 60 cal. deli ham and fat free dressing for dinner.Yogurt-lite 80 cal and lite cheese sticks 60 cal. per and make my own 100 cal packs now, when I started it was fresh fruit or fruit cups sweetened with splenda. Peaches=25,mixed=35,oranges=40.It may not work for you but if you do not really watch it close nothing will. I am back up to 2400 cal. a day with 2 complete work outs a day on my home gym and am maintaining.Find a combination that works with your body and get anal and you will achieve whatever goal you set. best of luck my friend-(:

I regularly manage to gat an A or A- and only really get bad grades when drinking alcohol.  Basically i don't eat any take-away food or readymade sandwiches, make my own lunch and snacks with loads of fruit and veg and try not to eat too much bread.  unfortunately I love bread but it tends to wipe out my calorie allowance for the day.

Hello, don't think I have  gotten below a b more than once. Eat a lot of vegetables and fruit and follow the burn the fat feed the muscle diet, eat every three hours protein and carbs. It is a pain to eat so often, but when you eat that much, you have to plan it out, so I think you consider the value of the food a little more because you are not just choosing at the last minute. I live in Italy and pretty much everyone eats better than most people in the states because there is a limited amount of junk food restaurants and the supermarkets do not carry the assortment of packaged foods. Most people eat fruit every day. Bread and meat and poultry is bought each day to be consumed that day.
