Anyone sick of skimpy girls in music videos?

Quote  |  Reply

Most music videos now have girls in their underwear looking perfect.  I'm just sick of this.  It makes me think all women have to be like this, showing off as much flesh as possible.  What do you think?

I'm sick of the skimpiness, PERIOD.  I've been sick of it since I was in junior high and all this crap started getting popular.

If you want to be sexy, dress in something that's flattering to your body and style, and put the most confident smile you can on your face.  I don't need to see your prepubescent boyish figure jiggling what's left of your ass in some little hot pants.

cellulitedelight, I couldn't agree more.. I am so sick of  females trying to show us all that they have boobs ( like we have never seen them) which for the most part are silicone . I am sick of insecure females exposing the belly and looking like a street whore. It is really boring to look at and if a person has to validate their self worth by being a drama queen in skin tight clothing and low cut tops with padded push up bras or not then they really are in need of  treatment. Let's face it, Men impress easily and will bag about any dog  walking.( Not all of them but many)

That prepubescent boyish figure is not sexy and females really need to understand that being sexy is an art. Plus, you have 8 yr. old girls looking up to that cheap look and cloning themselves.  Women have lost  sensuality, softness, seductiveness and mystery. I prefer that over seeing it all laid out.

Also, you have these over kills professing to really LOVE SEX and know how, which is a laugh because they don't really know how and love sex, hmmm, what they love is the attention..

lilithinwaiting.....don't sugar coat it!

It doesn't bother me at all whether they're in music videos or in real life.   Its not my style though - I think if you're going to pull off a classy look, you get one body part to show - back, cleavage, legs, etc. Showing more than one is a fashion DON'T, IMO.

so, lilithinwaiting. Tell us what you really think.

People can wear what they want. Doesn't bother me at all. If a chick wants to walk down the street in a bandaid, all power to her, it doesn't affect me one iota. I would prefer they didn't wear clothes that are too tight, especially when things are bulging out all over the place, but if they think they look good like that, who am I to dash their ideas. I do, however, enjoy the size of the bottoms of the girls in rap videos. I think they look nifty in their short shorts. I wish I had a butt like theirs, but sadly, mine runs into the back of my thighs. *sigh* Off to do squats. >.<

I just have to admit this right now - for this year's halloween party I've already decided to be a rap video girl, and I am going to wear the hot shorts. fun!

I agree with p0nda. Just doesn't bother me one way or another. You should be able wear what you wish. I'll be honest, I have been overweight a few years now, and I do fantasize of the day when I lose this weight... walking around in skimpy clothing struttin' muh stuff, but that's just me.

Are some of the things people wear tacky as hell in my opinion, YES, but who am I to judge. Personally, I wear what I feel is appropriate and cute for my size. If I could pull off some "booty" shorts, bet your ass I'd be wearin' them! [ I may only think this, because I can NOT pull them off now, when I was thin I didn't dress like that SO we will see, who knows....]

I am going to have to against the group on this one.

If you have the body and don't mind showing off your hard work I don't mind looking at it.

I agree gmule. If I looked sexy in the clothes those girls wear , heck I would be dancing around under a waterfall in a frickin push up bra also.

If you got it, flaunt it.

that's precisely why i don't watch music videos q:

It's music videos...I don't take them too seriously.

I personally think the girls in the skimpy outfits should be in good shape...if they're going to be wearing them at all.

We had someone my son works with that came to our family picnic yesterday and I was sure we were all going to see nipple before the night was over. She is probably 40 c -D and had a sun dress on and saggy. My husband even asked today what that was about. Covering up can be so much more sexier sometimes.

Why does seeing a woman in her underwear make you think you have be the same way?

...huh?

I reckon that the 'skimpy girls in videos' should not be used as an example of a good body on CC! Basically they're there for guys :). But if the media's gonna sell something, they've make it appealing. Hell sometimes I only watch Lost when Sawyer doesn't have his shirt on :) lol....

it is a little irritating for girls though, because girls aren't into the whole physical thing as much as guys are, so even if there were guys instead of girls in the videos it would probably still get old.
Bravo, ness! :D Exactly what I was going to ask. I could not care less what aforementioned booty-shakers do or, more accurately, don't wear. I have never considered dressing like that. Why would you, particularly when you don't like the style?

Why do people starve themselves to be like skinny celebrities?

because they desire that body type, vice.

I don't care about the girls in music videos. The music videos filled with that sort of stuff isn't the kind of music I listen to anyway. However, if you've got an awesome body.. sure, why not. There's a time and a place for everything.
In a shallow one word answer to the original question: "No."

The audience for those videos is supposed to be children and teenagers, right?  I think they may be intended for a younger audience who is into crap like that and don't know/care about anything better or real.  The girls in those videos are intended to titillate boys, right? (No pun intended!)

I don't care if some silly teenage boy thinks I'm hot or perfect.  I want a real man, someone who has a good personality, some chest hair, stubble, nice arms, maybe a few tattoos and a nice voice.  I bet that someone like that  probably wants someone who is real, gets a little dirty, is down to earth and has something juicy to grab onto.  :)
