anyone similar to me?

I am new to the group and I am really enjoying it. Never knew this site existed or I would have been here long time ago. Anyway, I was wondering if there are any success stories from people that have had similar experiences as me. I've had 3 c sections so I have the little pouch and i am hoping with weight loss and excercise it will go away. A little leerie of surgery to correct it after being cut there 3 times already.  Also, I have already lost 20 lbs but have about 30 left to go. I lost weight 1st in my thighs and butt,  which i do not like. Will my upper body eventually catch up? Its not really noticeable at all, but I know when I look in the mirror. I tend to have a little more of a cone shape now. Before i had more of an hourglass but I was unhealthy with my bmi. anyone got any advice? also, I really dont have much energy. Been going thru alot and my doctor put me on a low dose of wellbutrin. Havent started it yet but considering it.  Also, I am 5'7, med frame and 195lbs

Two things - first yes its normal to loose in one area first. My boobs and arms loose first, my stomach and face last. Just my body's preference.

Second, try the Wellbutrin! Besides feeling better, it helps most people lose weight!!! Plus when you don't feel so down you can work out more. If Wellbutrin doesn't work for you, (I'm allergic, but its worked well for my aunt & cousin) I take Cymbalta. It isn't as good at aiding weight loss, but it does help curb cravings.

Remember if you try it you can always stop if you want to, but its worth trying to see if you can feel better.

thanks for taking the time to reply. i have another question though. if it takes 4 wks to notice the changes after you start wellbutrin, wont my body already have become dependant on it? so i wouldnt be able to just stop it?
Lol...I'm the opposite! I so wish I could lose my thighs and my butt...it all comes off my upper half!
hell look at it this way....butt and thighs is whats in style now whether you like them or not. i loved mine and now its smaller. i just want to feel like i look more proportioned. i meet people all the time that would love to have your problem. not minimizing your situation at all though. what bothers one may not concern another. i am just saying men are more attracted to a female that has a littl more to grab on to down below. havent heard of many that like to caress meaty arms.....lol!
by the way what is a doctoral student?

Hi, I am in a similar situation.  i had 3 c-sections as well.  I have about 50 pounds more to loose.  So i am a bit more overweight!

I lost my dad in September, just after having my third boy.  I almost went on something to help me through the rough times.  My dad was 60 and had a rough battle with cancer and I took it really hard.  I am still struggling but I feel it is good to feel the emotions.  Back in December I was really on-the verge of a breakdown and then I found this site, started making more time for myself.  What I decided most of all is that, if I am not healthy my kids wont be healthy.  So I have been good for 4 weeks and I don't think I am going to go on something.  But I don't think it's wrong for you to, if its going to make you healthier, mentally.

Well I hope I didn't ramble to much and not make sense but I think you are doing great and should continue what your doing!!! Best of Luck.  Email me anytime.

Hey , thanks for taking the time to reply. My father was murdered several years ago so I can relate to the death of a parent. I still have not started the meds. I am seriously thinking of going to counseling and try that before going ahead with the meds. I dont like taking anything if I dont have to. Thats another reason I want to be healthy before I am on something to help me because I was stubborn. How tall are you? And what is your frame size?

More like how short am I, I am 5'4".  I would say a med to large frame.

That is sad about your dad, my dad had a terrible battle with cancer.

I am 5'7'' also and I started out weighing 178.  I went on wellbutrin because I was struggling with depression.  I have lost 25 pounds over 4 months.  It has really helped me stick to the number of calories I need to eat each day and I am never that hungry.  I am also working out, but I was doing that when I weighed 178.

I think the wellbutrin will help, and with some hard work, you will get to where you want to be.  It just takes a lot of time!!
