Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hello Everyone!

I've been using this site for about two months now and it's a great motivator BUT I'm still having problems losing weight.  I did great at first then it stopped and then I started weight watchers and it seemed to be working but it just seems like I have one good week and then nothing for another week or two.  I am going to start the Slim in 6 workout program on Monday and see if that helps kick this fat out of me.  Does anyone have any solutions or tips that have helped them along there way?

My info:  I'm 25, 5'7' and 183 looking to get to 135 before HELL freezes over.

what do you do for exercise?

I am 30 years old, 5'7 & 182.6 pounds this morning. I have been exercising alot lately & eating more healthy, but haven't lost alot of weight either, but I think it's just going to take time. Hang in there! Let me know if your new workout program works. Good luck on your journey. I also haven't been drinking ALOT of water & they say that is a main key to losing weight.

Seriously, there is no magic bullet.  It takes time and effort to loose a pound a week.  Be prepared to work for it.

work out hard eat good food stick to your goal.  I have lost 8 pds in two weeks.  I dont know if that is healthy but im happySmile.  I love this site as I can monitor my calorie, protein, fat and carbohydrate in take.  good luck

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I do drink a lot of water.  Usually about 10-8oz glasses a day.  Currently I am walking for my exercise, on a rare occassion I do pilates.  But other than that I do a lot of house cleaning which I log because chasing after a two year old is a lot of exercise.  I really wish there was a magic bullet, or that you could go into like a fat chamber and come out long and lean - but since that hasn't been invented yet and I really don't want to be looking like this for the next ten years I will get to work!  I thought about running along with my slim in 6 routine.  Anyone else run for exercise?

Chasing a two-year old is good cardio if I"ve ever heard anything!  And lifting a two year old over your head a few times an hour is probably all the weight lifting you need :) I've heard they make some pretty cool exercise videos with sesame street characters and so on (just to encourage kids to move around, not to start body image problems in the toddling years!)  You could try doing those with your little one.

You may want to think about running!  Run 1 minute, walk 1 minute, run 1 minute, walk etc. etc.   Do this on alternate days of walking and build 1 minute each week.  You can even take the baby with you although "me time" is nice if you can manage it.

While two-year-olds take a lot of energy, they don't burn many calories.   Keep logging your food intake to stay accountable and know that you're working towards a goal.  Whatever you lose or don't lose, you're healthier for trying.  Besides, not trying feels even worse than seeing that scale sit at the same point but knowing IT WILL MOVE AGAIN!  You will succeed...it's just a matter of time.

Thanks for everyones advice.  Hopefully it will all start working soon!

Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?

In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
