Has anyone taken a pole dancing class?
I was sitting at work the other day listening to the radio when I heard about a gym that offers pole dancing classes. The place is called Xpose fitness- I'm not quite sure if its only in MD or if its all over the US. Anyways I went to the website and its literally a pole dancing gym. My question is- has anyone taken a pole dancing class? I've been very intriqued by this lately because it looks fun! I mean I don't think I can do any of those tricks where you're spinning around the pole by your legs but it looks likes a crazy good workout. Let me know about your experience with a pole dancing class or anything similar!

i havent' but i would love to do it! i want to hear from people who have tried too!
you can get your own pole in your own house, there is this series called flirtygirlfitness.com and they have this huge dvd set that gets you prepared to be "fit to strip" and its like 200 dollars but it includes 7 work out tapes, a boa, and a pole that is removable so you dont have a pole sitting infront of your tv lol.. check out the site..
I did a 4 week class here in Las Vegas. I can't believe how many strippers there are in this world...holy cow, I thought even the beginning class was a tough work out. I had muscles I didn't realize I had, not to mention the bruising I got from spinning around the pole. All in all, I thought it was a great class, but wouldn't do it again for 2 reasons....1 - it was $150/month which consisted of 1 class/wk. 2 - I don't think I got all what I could have out of that class because it was a little akward for me to do some of the things in front of other people, maybe would have been better one on one or w/very close friends.
Yup, I took a three-hour class for fun one weekend near Boston. It was a great time, and I also got the bruises from hitting the pole the wrong way. But it was a so much fun, and makes for some great stories and even pictures (I brought a camera and had the instructor take some photos while I was showing off). Because there is only one class around and it wasn't in a gym, it was more expensive than I could afford to do often, but if you have one around that is affordable I would suggest you take it. It's a great experience, and would also be a fun bachlorette party/girls night out kind of thing to do!
That sounds *fantastic*. I nearly took a belly dancing class but chickened out at the last minute.
Kudos to you for trying it! Sounds great.

I haven't taken a class but I do have a pole in my house and I do use a pole fitness video. Katie Coates is the queen of pole dance fitness instructors. She recommends the x-pole. I have the x-pole and love it. It is the hardest, most frustrating, most fun and most rewarding exercise out there. You will never be bored. You can also get pole fitness inspiration for free on you tube.
Xpose Fitness is awesome ;) You should definitely give it a whirl! It is a great workout!
