is there anyone out there thats afraid of posting pictures of themselves?

i wasnt always that way.

this one day i was taking pic of my body to show my friend cause she hadnt she me in a half a year & she requested to see the weight loss. so i was going to send it to her over myspace in a message, so i put the pics on photobucket, then completely forgot about my account for a few months. then one day i was like "oh, i should go delete my account!" then i saw the pics &how many views they got:

over 1,000! like 1,300 something.

i mean im sure people were just browsing over &such, but still, it freaked me out. then this past month i finally put my picture up on myspace. then some guy who lives pretty close to me sent me a message saying im cute &asked me "what excites me." idk... so uncomfortable. :(

Yeah, that guy sounds like a sleeze. I think it is okay to have pictures of yourself on this website...do you mean in general like anywhere on the entire internet?

I sometimes get frustrated with people who don't post their photo on this site only because I am really curious to see how they look at their weight and what progress they have made and just to put a face to the name. Also, interestingly, I find that on this site, some of the people who like to leave the nastiest comments are the ones who don't have a pic of themself (not saying it's you).

As for pics of yourself online, it's good to have security features if you are afraid of weirdos looking at your photos.

yea me too! i hate when people dont have pics. i mean at least i have some veggies-better than nothing. but yea its just im so freaked from all that. yesterday i put my pic up on cc for like 5 minutes but was too uncomfortable. :(

You don't have to do anything your uncomfortable with but I'm just curious, what scares you about putting up a photo here? You don't have to put your contact info in your profile if you're afraid someone will try to harass you. I personally don't feel uncomfortable...this site is pretty darn tame in my experience, 90% women who just want to get in shape. When I had a myspace (I don't anymore) I used to get emails from all kinds of gross dudes. This site is not like that.

I hate how thin I look--yet I felt like I needed to be honest with not only MYSELF but with anyone ELSE out there struggling with anorexia.
 bony isn't pretty and I CAN'T WAIT to post pictures of my progress once it becomes more obvious that i've gained a lil' weight and have a returning healthy GLOW AGAIN !:) YAAY!! :) so that's MY motivation for posting pics. :)

I'm not as internet savvy as some so CC is the only place I have pictures viewable to strangers. 

I now have progressive pictures up in my gallery and if there is a time where I find I don't like them being viewed by others I'll privatize (terminology?) them to be viewed by only my friends.  Hopefully that won't happen because I do want people to see progress is possible.

what scares me is people being able to save my pic onto their computer. idk. i think i may post my pic that i posted yesterday seeing as no one will know which one is me. 

I put my pic up only because I feel the need to be a part of something. I don't want to be faceless. Now body-wise I rather not show but the face is expressive and I'd like to think I can express myself through a picture. Or I could be wrong LOL

I'm kind of nervous about posting pics and/or identifying information about myself in forums.  As harmless and tame as this particular website may seem, I've read too many horror stories about other people (and have known a few) who, even when they were on harmless websites, wound up having their pics downloaded by pervs and wound up photoshopped in some, um...interesting scenarios.

I personally opt to darken my face or leave it out entirely on this site. I have regular pictures on Myspace and Facebook, though.

I suppose it's just that in the back of my head I'm afraid someone from this site would bump into me on the street and be like, "Oh yeah, you used to be pretty fat, right?".

I dunno. Everyone has their own little issues. I'm happy with a little privacy on here. I do have pictures of my body on here, though - so people can have a decent idea of what body type I have. I have no problem with that - isn't too likely someone's going to recognize me from the stuff I have up.

Well.. Here I am without a pic. I've been thinking seriously for many months to put up my pictures. One reason being not having digital camera.. which I just got few days ago. Another reason, a HUGE reason, is that I just don't like how I look like. Face, body, both mehhhh....


I'm sure you guys want to see pictures and all, but I don't think you guys should be upset as anonymity is what makes internet.. an internet.

Well one day a miller owner snuck into the site and stole my picture plus several other and made a rolling gif of our pictures including our own names and online names. Since then I have been leary of that. I do have a photobucket account but you have to know the password to look at any pictures I don't already have posted. So if you don't want someone looking ta your photobucket pictures make sure its password protected.

wow.. i never thought people wouldnt put their pics on here for that reason...

are you a teen. i went through that awkward stage when i was 10-16ish. now i like the way i look

wow that really stinks! im sure you have nothing to worry about on her though.. there arent many pervs. but still that voice in my head says dont post your pics! &hehe, i already deleted my photobucket account. ;)

I do have alot of pictures on the internet, and sometimes i think about just getting rid of them all! Because I get alot of guys sending me messages that i do not appreciate, i think its really stupid when they send them on my myspace(which has pictures of my boyfriend on my page). Its like they didnt bother to even look at my page, just saw my picture and sent me a message.

i know man, its like, do you honestly think you can pick up a girl over the internet?!? (well one thats not a dating site. lol)
