I'm a dieting veteran.... up and down the same 20lbs since highschool! I've always lost it on Weight Watchers...but I wanted to try something new. So, here I am. I'm looking to start a group of late 20- early 30 year olds who are interested in losing weight and getting healthy. I'm 5' 9" 160lbs. I'm looking for others that have about 20-30lbs to lose. Hopefully there's some people out there!!
Happy New Year!
Hi, all! i'm weighing in today at 117.4. congrats to all losers this week!
Mary - that's excellent that you've lost 35 pounds in 8 months! What kind of challenge are you thinking of?
Hello all, I 28 female and I want to lose about 30 pounds. I have a cruise coming up and I just can't believe I have put on sooo much weight. I am in the military and when we got back from deployment last year I just started eating and eating and eating and drinking lol. I just want to get back to the weight I was 2 years ago. I've been going to the gym daily except saturdays so hopefully I will see some results. Wish everyone luck. MUAH

I am weighing in today at 163. Waddope, how did you manage to lose three pounds in under a week? That's fabulous. Yesterday, I worked my butt off at the gym and felt great. Ready to go back today!
I may have been bloated from the New Year's Party the night before my initial weigh-in? I am lucky that anytime I make a change in calories or exercise, I get a great initial loss. It is the plataeu that always gets me. I bet that I'll get to 140 or so and stall, but we'll see.
I am sticking to 1200 calories and exercising every day. Nothing major, but making sure I do at least 20 min/day. I used to beat myself up if I didn't have at least an hour and then I would quit. I figure that something is better than nothing.
I am really excited about this group and would certainly be up for the challenge that was mentioned. Would % of weight lost, like on The Biggest Loser, be the best way? What do you all think?
You look great and your so young. Maybe you just need to do a life change, such as begin to make the life change of what you eat or how much or how you cook it.
Probably settle in your mind to not becoming an exercise guru, but a gal who will do like you said, 20 minutes a day of some sort of exercise anything is great, not better than nothing. Really just make up your mind to do it for life and you will see a change, it won't happen over night, things take time, you have been creating a habit for 20 something years by the way you eat and what you eat. Remember emotions play a big role in our eating habits and so do our families.
So just begin to tell your self you eat different and everyday see your self eating different and doing some sort of exercise and and in a few months you will be so proud of yourself.
Your here now and that is a great start.
You will make it to be all that you can be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So how's everyone's day going??
What did you do for exercise today?
How was the diet?
TELL US EVERYTHING! I biked for 75 minutes today, diet thus far has been good, I am at 800 calories so far today. I will try to keep it around 1900. Weigh in is tomorrow for me. I am actually LOOKING FORWARD to it! I know! Shocking!
Hi! I'm 28 and also new to the thread. I have been using CC regularly for about a year and a half. Since joining I have lost 13 lbs (I actually lost 25 and have put 12 back on in the last 6 months). I want to get rid of the 12 I put back on before I get pregnant again. Before joining CC I had lost 26 using a variety of weight watchers and south beach and exercise. I currently workout about 6 days a week taking either Sunday or Wednesday off. There is a chance that I will get pregnant in the next two months so I don't think I will hit my goal weight loss if that happens. My new goal will then be a healthy weight gain while pregnant if I do get a positive on the stick. I gained 48 lbs with each of my first two pregnancies and started around 25 lbs overweight with each of them. Today I weighed in at 131.5. This is an okay weight for me, but I would be more comfortable with an 8-13 lb loss. I am 5'2" and am also facing my 10 year HS reunion this summer. I may be facing in with a prego belly, but hopefully not a wide load rear. Ha! Today was a day off from exercise. Good luck to everyone!
almost exact same situation as you megan44. i'm 27, will be 28 in march and i weigh 164. i always weighed about 140ish through college but when i was pregnant i gained 50 lbs! after that i've fluctuated between 155-178. i really want to get down to 150 by my birthday in march! i started running (using that post on the cc website that teaches you how to run week by week). i was doing great before christmas, i lost nearly 17 lbs! now i'm struggling to eat right again.
got to make it happen!! :)
I work out pretty hardcore but have to watch my diet quite a bit. Have issues with eating clean and go back & forth from eating next to nothing to eating normal/a lot.
Hi everyone!
I'm 28 years old and have been trying to lose a bunch of weight I gained since college. I've lost 20 pounds so far, but at 5'3 and 175 lbs, I certainly need to lose about another 40. It's nice to see that there's other people on here in my age range trying to to do the same thing.
Best of luck to all of us!
Finally a group that isn't full of anorexic teenage girls! Count me in too, guys. I'm not really trying to lose, but I am trying to maintain and work at eating healthier and more naturally.
Oh, I'm 26, 5'3'' and about 105.
What's the plan? Weekly weigh-ins? Exercise challenge?
Hi Everyone!! I'm new to this thread and am SOOO HAPPY to have found so many people in the same situation as me. I'm 28 years old and just had my first beautiful baby girl (by c-section) in July and am struggling to lose the weight. I'm only 4'10" and weight in at 132 lbs. All you short girls out there know that a mere 5 lb gain looks like a lot more on our small frames!! I'm looking to lose at least 20 pounds...i am realistic and don't think i'll ever get back to my 100 pound high school weight, but a girl can dream....
i'm aiming at 1300-1400 calories a day-high fiber, whole wheat, lots of fruits and veggies...also trying to get in 20 minutes of aerobics and 30 minutes of yoga a day. Exercise is NOT my favorite, so i'm aiming high knowing that i probably won't get in that much
Thank you all for your inspirational words...i'm definitely in for the weigh-ins.
I've been using CC on and off for the past 6 months, but I just joined as a member today! I am 25, 5'3" and weigh in at 158. I gained a ton of weight in high school, and lost most of it (50-60 lbs.) through Weight Watchers and changing my activity level. Over the last few months, between a back injury and my brother coming to live with me (he loves to cook) I've put back on 10 lbs. My goal is to lose 20 lbs. by mid year.
I love exercising, but would like some different ideas for cardio since I cannot lift weights for a while. I get bored with the treadmill or eliptical all the time.
Also, does anyone have any advice on how to deal with family members who are not dieting?
Thank you all for your inspiration. It's so comforting to know that there are other people in the same situation out there! Good luck, and remember how good you'll feel the next morning if you don't eat that midnight snack!

Amen! I get pretty tired of the teenage eating disorder saga.
I'm really excited to participate! I need all the motivational help I can get. I tend to get discouraged when I don't see results quickly. Hopefully, you ladies will help me stay on track!!
