amayou-i just wanted to say THANKS!  a while back you suggested i reset my account settings (as per my serving job/brisk walking), so i did and you were right, it completely re-evaluated my calorie intake & burn level.....i've been watching myself very well for the last week or so and TA-DA!

last week: 164 lbs

this week: 159 lbs......woohoo!!

i've also started something that scared the hell outta me before, i read somewhere before that you should:  eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a court jester....i've been doing just that for the past 7 days, and lo and behold!  now i eat 400-500 cals for brekkie (within an hour of waking), another 400 for lunch (usually 4 hours later) and then i divvy up the rest of my intake on dinner and snacks....and yes, i do have ice cream when i crave it, those Skinny Cow products are heavenly!

Good work everyone!  whether you're losing or maintaing, as long as we're not going in the opposite direction!!  thanks for the encouragement!!

weight in time. here's mine.

SW: 320

LAST WEEK: 272

THIS WEEK: 266

WEEK LOSS: 6

TOTAL LOSS: 54

yeah! i've now lost over 50 pounds and man o man does it feel good. i can't believe how easy this is going for me. the last time i lost weight, i had many bad weeks and it was a constant struggle to lose. this time my motivation is out of this world and i can't stop and won't stop. i don't ever want to eat like the way i used to eat. i don't want any of that junk anymore. i really feel like a new man. and it's the best feeling in the world. thank you ALL soooooo much for being here and supporting me and each other through this. i COULD NOT do it without each and every one of you.

 -brett

Start Weight: 180

Last Week:175.2

This Week: 174.2

Goal Weight: 135

I would love for these numbers to be dropping more quickly. I feel like progress has been so slow. Undecided

biggrett-congratulations!!  lucky you, being a man and all LOL....you males ALWAYS have an easier time losing the pounds!!  keep it up, you're quite the inspiration

jstone-all i can say to you is DON'T GET DISCOURAGED!!  always remember why you're in this, you absolutely CAN do it and losing it fast does not mean success, a slower progress is much more healthier and you are much more likely to keep that weight off, those are true facts trust me....i've been on CC for a year and a half now, and so far my loss is only at 30 lbs....but that's 30 pounds gone!

Wow, great job everyone so far! It's so inspiring to see everyone's progress! As for me...

Last week: 178.0

This week: 176.5

Gotta keep on keeping on :)

Nice work people (esp bigbrett and feret)!  I didn't get a chance to go to the scale, but I will try to report on Monday.

Jstone, sounds like you're off to a good start.  Maybe not losing fast, but you're LOSING.  What things are you doing/changing to do it?

Hello I am new here, I have been losing weight since July 2007 I went from 195-to 140, which is my current. I am really trying to get to 125-120..I feel so tired...I mean I feel like I have been dieting my whole life....the good thing is, it has kinda become natural after so long. Maybe with that I wont have to worry about the regaining so much...errr I hope :) lol

I am 22 :)) and need some buddies here....

I don't bite >:)~

Ooops, missed weigh day by a long shot! I did weigh myself though down .5 of a pound to 174.5 no great accomplishment but I managed to work out 3 times last week. How do you manage your time better?

Jstone I have to agree with theferet Its taken me almost a year now to loose slightly over 20lbs. But I feel a hell of a lot better about myself this year and thats a huge motivator for me. so keep it up you will get there. we all will!

congrats to all you losers and maintainers.

welcome cfree

Thank you for the encouragement everyone! I am trying so hard to do the right things, and I know that I should not be comparing my progress to the progress of others, but it gets hard not to get discouraged when you see other people losing such big amounts. (Damn those people on Biggest Loser with their nutritionists and personal trainers.....)I have been battling the dreaded time of the month and a terrible cold all last week, so my workouts haven't been there. I knew my weight loss wasn't going to be pretty, so a pound is good, but when I look at far I still have to go, it feels like I will never get there...... At least I am much healthier than I was when I started this, and I am a whole lot healthier than I was a year ago.

Had a really busy weekend and it's going to be like that for the next week or so. Just moved. No time to work out now, but i've got lots of stairs at the new house to run up and down until i get things organzied enough for the time being!! :D

Here's my weigh in for Feb 29:

Prior week, 156.4

This Week 155.2

Down 5 pounds since the 5th of Feb so not doing too bad :S

Looks like everyone is doing pretty good, keep up the good workJoelle, brett, Ferret, Kirsten , also welcome to the group CFree. Don't let the slow progress get you down JStone. There must be a bug goin around I've been a bit sick since Sunday, but I'm finally starting to feel a lil better, just tryin to get my energy back.

Whoops, completely missed weigh-in day.  I'm at 154.  Not as low as I wanted to be, mini-goal was set for 150, but at least I'm losing.

Things have been crazy, some days I do really well, lately I feel like I'm eeking by, it's the night eating that is still killing me and we've been so busy with wedding plans (3 months left, my fitting is next month - eech!) it's so easy to grab something on the go, but no excuses, I'm staying in here and I've exercised everyday.  I just want to say to, I don't know if anyone is close to a place they can Cross-Country ski but -  AWESOME exercise.  I only went for an hour or so last Saturday and my legs were still feeling it yesterday.  I wish there was snow here in MA! (though I'm not complaining about the 60 degree weather - so nice)

Keep up the great work everyone and hang in there, welcome to all the newbies!

so..I was stuck in a rut for over a month. I lost around 6lbs and then the scale didn’t budge. I tried to be patient for 3 weeks, but by the 4th I was at my wits end. I continued to journal my food, watch my calories, and work out..but no loss!! I was at my local Hy-Vee (chain grocery store) and they have a certified/registered Nutritionist on staff. I struck up a conversation with her and realized that the store offers Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) testing for ONLY $45!!! That is an awesome deal since Hy-Tech weight loss charges their members $250 for the same test!!! SO, after setting up an appointment and having my RMR tested I found out that I was actually starving my body by only eating 1200 calories a day! The nutritionist believes that I hit my "wall" because my body finally realized that it did not want to work on only 1200 calories!! My RMR was 1830 (WAY HIGHER than I thought I would be) x my lifestyle factor of 1.3 (which includes a desk job and working out 4-5 days a week) for a total caloric exertion of 2379!! If I would like to lose between 1-2lbs a week I need to cut back 500-1000 cals per day! So, my new goal is 1500 cals and I have already lost 2 lbs for the week with one day left! I feel great, full & energetic after meals, and full of energy during my workouts! I also feel much better about "dieting" now that I know that my metabolism is good and now that I know its okay to feed my body those extra calories! I would recommend the RMR testing to everyone!!!

Rosterhome-that is great! I am hoping to be able to find a place to get my RMR tested too, but the prices are so high! I'm glad that you were able to get it done and you are losing again!

hope everyone's doing great out there!!  where is spring??!!  anyone else supposed to get 36 hours straight of snowfall starting this afternoon??  that kinda weather makes me wanna stay home and bake cookies (good or bad? LOL)

here's this week's weigh in:

last week: 158 lbs

this week: 161 lbs (crap.......maybe cookies aren't a bright idea)

Hi all,  I just joined on March 1st and would love some buddies to help keep me accountable.  I'm 20 and trying to drop from 180 lbs  to 150 or so.  I was so surpised when I stepped on the scale this morning and it read 177!  I always hear that the first pounds are the easiest and it'll slow down, but I'm still happy

(no snow here, but it's cold for being March in Texas)

Hi, I just joined CC the other day and would love to join this group if there's still room.

 I'm 22 5ft 4 female 140lb looking to get down to 125.

weigh in time. i was very sick this past week, so of course i didn't get out of bed for like 5 straight days. however, being sick sure helps drop the pounds. so here it is:

SW: 320 lbs.

LAST WEEK: 266 lbs.

THIS WEEK: 260 lbs.

LOSS: 6 lbs.

TOTAL: 60 lbs.

man o man, 60 pounds. that is incredible. i am losing this weight way faster than ever imagined. i even just upped my calories due to the sickness, but i'm still losing quite rapidly. i feel good.

feret - i don't want to make you jealous, but your 36 hours of snow is nothing like our 70 degree sunshine all week and weekend here in California. my pops lives in Ottawa, so i know what you are going through.

I'd love to get my RMR tested, but would be afraid to see it all at the same time. Sometimes being blissfully unaware keeps me happy.

Anywho, weigh in for me

Last week: 176.5

This week: 175.0

Good job everyone!

Last week for me: 150.4

This week:  149.4

Yay! At least I am still losing and not gaining like I was last month!!!!!
