Ive battled with my weight my whole life(if you want to know more you can check out my profile)and Im looking for people like me out there, close to my age who can relate to what I am going through. Im doing the 12 week exercise program and so far Im doing really good (just finished day 8)! I would love to get a group together to share progress and challenges and failures etc. Anyone?

mostly fruits and veggies...occasionaly Ill have a sandwich with 12 grain bread or some pasta but for the most part its vegetables and fruit. Thanks for the tip!

eggs, beans, peanut butter, chicken, beef - all those have good protein amts.  also, before working out i eat the south beach high protein cereal bars (10g for that small bar). whey could be good but not sure about calorie amts....i'd post in the food/recipe forum and ask for recommendations on low cal/high protein foods :) you'll get tooooons of answers :)

ps - woke up SICK today BOOO. what the heck?!??!  pumpin my body full of meds/vitamins and took one day off from gym. ahhh hopefully tomorrow;s better, cant be sick for christmas OR for my diet/exercise regimen :(

ok so sry i havent post my weigh in yet....ive been busy with last minute gifts lol

friday i weighed in at 136 lbs. down .5 from last week, total of 2 lbs lost. haha. sounds so insignificant considering people have lost so much more! good for you guys!

kristen-nuts and nut butters dont have alot of carbs but do have alot of protein

i tried posting for last week but it didn't go through for some reason.  I weighed in at 133. I need to restart drinking more water-shame on me.
Yeah, I've been bad with the water too lately.  I just need to start carrying my water bottle with me at work again.  I was doing much better when I did that.

Thanks guys and Merry Christmas!

What is everyone having for Christmas Dinner?? Are you having the same thing as every year(turkey dinner like my family) or are you enjoying something new??

Last night I did really well. I didnt count calories cause I ate so randomly but I tried to fill up on fruits and veggies and when I saw the Hedge hogs (my fav) I only had 1.

Denne-good job! You shouldnt compare your weightloss goals with everyone else because everyone is different. Youre closer to your goal than I am and weather I loose 5 lbs and you loose .5 or vice versa it shouldnt matter as long as we are all working to improve our health and self image. Keep up the good work!

Weigh day came too fast this week. I stepped on the scale and first it said 184.5 which is up half a pound. Then I weighed myself again and it said 177.5 which is quite the difference so I weighed a couple more times and settled with 178.5 which is down 3.5 from last week. I wasnt counting calories over the holidays, its very possible I was under eating...

congrats Kirsten!! that's awesome!!!

I was a bit nervous about stepping on the scale but come to find out - I hit my second mini-goal of getting to 140.  I weighed in today at 139.8!!! New decade :)  So I'm now down 9.2 lbs. yay

I was sick over Christmas and didn't go to gym from Friday to Thursday.  I went this morning finally and worked hard.  I was kindof lucky I was sick over the holidays, helped me control myself b/c I had no appetite.  I had to force feed myself to get enough calories.  Hope everyone had a great weekend and after...

hi all! Sorry i've been so bad about posting:( BUT, my motivation has stuck around..i've ran 3 days this week... I weighed in and am stuck at 141 lbs.... (down  lbs since I began) Now i'm wishing I would have taken my measurements because maybe even though i'm not losing weight i'm losing inches..?

anyhoo, you guys are super motivating - thanks and Keep it up!

Thanks Brook! Im pretty stoked and good for you too!

Katie, its never too late, measure now and you can keep track from here on in.

hey guys

i havent posted in ages

oops..went away and then f=got lazy so i havent done anything for a very long time except for pilates every other day. I went to india for a month and (i dont go by weight i go by body measurements) i managed to lose some fat especiallyaround the hips, which is what i want. i lost 0/5 inch off the hips (yes it does make a difference as im so unproportioned)

anyway came back and with a 12-1300 cal diet and pilates managed to keep it off until...XMAS. im back up 0.5 inch :(

so, i bought a polar f11 heart rate monitor today and am going to get back to the gym and keep at the 12-1300 cal diet and eat back my exercise calories. here we go again....

hope ur all doing better :)
Hi!

I just joined CC today, and was hoping I could join in with you guys!?!?

I am 20 years, 5'6" and weigh 155 lbs (which is down from the 185 lbs that I was at when I was 18).  My goal is 115-120 lbs by August.  I am going to be a bride's maid in August for my friend, and it seems to be a motivational tool for me to finally lose the rest of the weight.

January first I plan on starting an exercise program involving weight lifting and cardio work.  Also a diet of 1200-1500 cals a day.  But the whole thing really won't take effect until February because I am going to Hawaii for 3 weeks for a class I am taking. :)

Ive decided to post a motivational quote everyday to keep us going. If you have some post them too. The more motivation the better!

Ok. I'm a little late to the game but here I am. I'm 28 and I weighed 207 lbs. for the last year. This was the most I've weighed in my intire life. I found this website a few days ago, and it has been sooooo helpful. I started exercising and watching what I was eating this summer. Currently I'm down to 190 lbs. but according to this site, my goal should 165, but I'd be personally happy with reaching 170. I just joined a gym today, so I'm hoping to be motivated by the idea that I need to not just waste that money.

Sorry I haven't posted!

How has everyone survived the holidays?

Personally, I'm glad they're over. I ate a bit more than I wanted to on Christmas day/Boxing Day and I feel like I'm spilling out of my clothing! This whole month has been a little all over the place. I mean, I'm eating really healthy but I feel like I'm just eating more in general but I have been keeping myself busy (doing a lot of walking, staying out of the house...) And above that I'm TERRIFIED to step on the scale... I don't know what to do! Because I really feel like I need to lose a few pounds but I don't know what I way but I'm afraid to see because I don't want it to make me upset. Does that make any sense? Anyway, I could really use some advice.

Take care, all!

 Julia

I survived.....and some how managed to lose 1 lb! i weighed in at 135, but i didnt have my shoes on. i couldn't remember if i usually do it with or with out them, so from now on ill just do them with out!

how did everyone else do?

Julia I am no expert when it comes to weight-loss or psychology hahaha. But I will say this. It reminds me of a friend of mine who refuses to go to the doctor, even when she has a serious problem, because she doesnt want to get some bad news. Well I say if you dont go and get your bad news youre going to continue on, oblivious to the problem and therefor oblivious to the solution. I know it sucks and I know how very scary stepping on the scale can be. I think you should just do it. Just get it over with so you know where you stand and you can start to work towards you goals again. Good luck!

Good for you Denne! I always weigh naked so obviously I dont have my shoes on! I think I did too well. I swear my scale is broken I should go to the doctor and find out for sure...

Beachball glad you could join us, I love your name. We need more men around here. Good luck!

Perseverance

Try not to do too many things at once. Know what you want, the number one thing today and tomorrow. Persevere and get it done.

Hello everyone! I've been on vacation all week visiting family. Didn't do too bad over Christmas. I had a few samples of Christmas cookies, ate some of my favorites foods on Christmas day - and that's it! I haven't weighed myself this week (TOM) but I'll be checking next Friday.

Hey Julia, I know how you feel about getting on the scale. I avoid it. A lot. But I agree with Kirsten. Just get on that scale and get it over with! And hey, you might be pleasantly surprised! If not, don't stress about it. Just pick yourself up and continue on your goal. Hope that helps...
