Ive battled with my weight my whole life(if you want to know more you can check out my profile)and Im looking for people like me out there, close to my age who can relate to what I am going through. Im doing the 12 week exercise program and so far Im doing really good (just finished day 8)! I would love to get a group together to share progress and challenges and failures etc. Anyone?
hotpinkgirl i WISH i could be your running buddy! i have a stress fracture in my foot tho so the doctor said no running for atleast a month. i used to run cross country and i ran a 5k last summer but i always seem to get hurt when i get on a roll (stress fractures, shin splints...) GOOD LUCK!
ok so my new years resolution is to not order/eat french fries. haha. its gonna be hard.....its like my one food i normally can't live without. well, peanut butter is one too, but that atleast has protein!
oooo! French fries! that's a downfall for me too
I bought these sweet potato fries at the grocery store...not the same as a greasy yummy french fry, but a bunch of calories less and a good substitution!![]()
Good Luck Denne11!
I just have to say welcome all new people and welcome back everyone else! Again good luck to us all.

And with this quote in mind I have to confess... I have done really terrible this week. I havent exercised once and Ive been eating a lot of junk food. I was really busy at the begining of the week, I was working at the SPCA in the mornings and then working my job at night. I wasnt sitting around doing nothing but I have a lot of weight to loose and the only way its going to come off is if I eat healthy and exercise. Now its time to get back on track. Tomorrow is weigh day and Im sure Ive gained most, if not all, of it back.
Im glad to hear everyone else is doing so well! Keep up the good work.
Outlaw- if you look through the exercise browser there are lots of things you can do like circut training that just take some dumbells and are great cardio. Let me know what you end up doing.
PS Im going to exercise tonight and tomorrow and for the rest of my life lol, and hopefully be down again by next weigh day.
Hi my name is lily and I am 23. I just signed up and really don't know alot about this. Do you think you can help?
And anybody else who has come on since my last visit :)
I'm scared to weigh myself again. I just got back from a vacation in FL and I'm worried that I might have overdone it just a lil bit...
hi how long have you been doing this for?
welcome Lily! everyone on here is super helpful- you can ask here or if you want you can e-mail me here on CC. (caloriecount)
good luck!
hotpinkgirl, I would love to eventually run a marathon, but I think my goal is to be back in 5K shape by this summer. I did several a few years ago with my sister, and I loved it! But she moved to Germany for a couple years (military) then was pregnant when she got back (I got a nephew in August!). So hopefully this year she'll be ready to train with me again! I've kind of started on my treadmill, but I'm not up to very long running streaks. I have to walk fairly frequently still, but I'll get there. I did some sprints and 'hills' on it tonight.
Kirsten, I love the quotes you post! Don't worry too much about having an 'off' week, heck, I've had an off month!! But I'm ready to get back on track, and it sounds like you are too! I think today was the first day in like 3 weeks that I was able to stay within my calorie limit.
See ya'll tomorrow for weigh in!
Well today is WEIGH IN DAY!!!!!!!!!
Weighed myself this morning, and I'm still 147 ![]()
I've been told that I may have a my calorie goal too low, but I'm in denial I'll give it another week and see if there is any difference. This week I didn't eat the things I should and I know that so I'll be going shopping thiss weekend for my frozen meals to get me back on track hopefully.
OMG Ive gained 4.5 lbs. Last week I weighed in at 178.5 today I am 183. Im still down 3 lbs since I started and I have 58lbs more to go to reach my goal of 125ish. I have a mini goal to be less than 180 by January 15th..I thought Id already completed that goal but now I have to get there again. So here goes. I cant let it get me down. Its not like Im doing all the right things and nothing is happening. Ive already seen the proof that if I work hard the weight will come off. So back on track this week and we will see what happens next weigh day!
Hope everyone is pleased with their results!

Hi guys, hoping I can join in here?
I'm Rach, 21, and currently weigh in at 179. Always been a bit chunky, but now decided that enough is enough!
I'm hoping to get down to 149, which CC says I should do by August, which would be cool! I've only just started on this, so it's great to see you guys doing so well - makes me think maybe I can do it too!
So, hi everyone *waves*
Hey everyone. So I see the weigh in day is today for this group. I have yet to weigh in with you guys. But I weighed this morning and couldn't be happier. I am at 303. I started at 320. And I am down 3 pounds from last week. This is going better than I could ever have imagined. And it's all due to this site and all of you people to keep me motivated. So.....
THANKS.
-Brett
I am 154 lbs today! Down 1 pound since last week...surprising as I haven't kept up woth eating healthy and exercising.
Congrats to everyone who succeeded this week and good luck to everyone towards their goals!

alright *drum roll* please- 141 lbs. SAME AS LAST WEEK
BUT, I have been working out this week consistently...so although no lbs lost, I feel GREAT and that's what matters most..right?
Thanks for the continued support!
By the way I don't know if anyone has tryed the new G2 from Gatorade but I for one am not a fan of water and i find I eat a lot because I think i'm hungry when im really just thirsty so having fluids is key. Anyways this stuff is low cal and tastes really good just thought i'd though that out there incase anyone wanted to check it out.
Hi everyone! My name is Kare and I am still hanging on to my 20's, barely. My goal is to be 130 by the time I'm 30 in July. I started at 147 on the 1st and I'm down to 144.8 yesterday. Hopefully I'll make it to 130 well before my birthday.
Currently I'm sticking to 1200 calories/day and making sure that I exercise everyday. I used to not exercise unless I had an hour or two straight, but with 2 kids under 4, a part-time job and all my charity work, I have decided that a 20 minute Pilates video is better than nothing, and I refuse to feel guilty that it wasn't longer.
hi, all. i'm glad to see this thread. i'm a newbie to this site...but not weight loss. i barely meet the age requirements (you can throw me out later this year when i enter the land of 30-somethings).
over the past year and a half i met weight goals that i once thought were impossible. i'm 5'4'' and this morning weighed 116. i owe it all to running. i was on and off the exercise/diet band wagon for about 4 years (well, really my whole life), and one day i just decided that i was going to take a little time each day for myself. i mean, really, what else was i doing?? i've had bad days, bad weeks, and bad months, but i just would remember how good it is to see and feel the results of exercise, and i would get started all over again. it took me about a year to lose 35 pounds, but i did it and now i've maintained it for 6 months! i won't go back to my former body for anything.
this year will be about healthy eating (my food choices are my biggest weakness) and toning my body. looking forward to giving support to all of you in your healthy endeavors, and getting a little support every now and then when i hit a rough spot!
i'm just having a lazy saturday, so i'll welcome the newbies
welcome duskrunner!Congrats on the weight loss! that is totally great- you did it yourself and you're maintaining......that's something to be proud of! how far do you run? 'm hopping on the running bandwagon, although I am really sore today:( anyway, WELCOME!
WADDOPE: sounds like our goal is similar- I started at 149 and am down to 141 (been stuck for a few weeks...) i'd like to hit 125 but would be happy with 130. anyway welcome to the group- great to have you!!!!
good luck to all of you!
hotpink - my sessions are usually 3 to 4 miles. how much are you running? december was a rough month for me. i like to run outside and i usually hit a wall of adjustment when i go from running outdoors to running on the treadmill. plus, i've had a couple of 'bugs' that made it hard to run.
i saw a post earlier that someone was looking to run a 1/2 marathon this year - was that you? i would love to run a 5k or larger race, but i haven't worked up the nerve yet. i have much respect for all those out there who do the 1/2 and full marathons!
congrats on your weight loss! you sound just like me 2 years ago. i was in the mid to upper 140's (i hated the scale, so i don't really know what i weighed when i started). at one point i wanted to be 135...then 130...then 120. my goal just kept dropping with my weight. its doable, just keep it one day at a time and be proud of your successes!
Why am I so thirsty all of the time?
Severe thirst is a symptom of a several medical conditions including diabetes, pituitary gland problems, and diseases associated with the loss of fluid... Read more
