Ive battled with my weight my whole life(if you want to know more you can check out my profile)and Im looking for people like me out there, close to my age who can relate to what I am going through. Im doing the 12 week exercise program and so far Im doing really good (just finished day 8)! I would love to get a group together to share progress and challenges and failures etc. Anyone?
duskrunner-that is me- training for a 1/2 marathon (acutally 15.7 miles to be exact
) in may.... my long runs I am up to 4...then i've just begun some 'track' work on the treadmill to improve my times.....
I HATTTTTE the treadmill, so i'm doing my long runs outside in the middle of winter in MICHIGAN...(I have warm gear so that helps..) and i'll use the treadmill only for the track work..
anyway, welcome...any tips/ movation that you have is welcome too!
Well I don' tknow whats up but I weighted myself this morning and the scale said 146.4 I don't know how accurate that was, I mean come one did I really lose .6 pounds yesterday, without exercising an extra day, and haveing a tall white chocolate mocha latte from Starbucks.
To all those who lost, KUDOS.
To those of us who didn't there is always next week lets keep our heads up and stay positive, ![]()
A day late, but that's OK. I weighed in at 188.5 this morning, so I think I'm back on track. I'm hoping to post a nice loss next week :)
My goals for the week: Keep calories under control (1500-1600) and 3x on the treadmill. My volleyball league also starts back up next week, so I"m looking forward to that, we're semi-competitive, so it ends up being a pretty good workout. I also want to start walking regularly on breaks at work again, and get my house squeaky clean. Sounds like I'll have a busy week!
a couple of days late but when I weighed Fri I was up .6 from 139.4 midweek to 140.0...but weigh in last Fri was 140.2 or .4 so I guess weekly I'm down a tiny bit. Either way - maintain is good, especially considering the amt of partying I subjected myself to this week.
welcome to all the newcomers!! there are tons more of you :) yay. i'll have more time tomorrow to catch up on the thread. congrats to the losers this week! and the maintainers, and to those who've kept up the good eating and exercise. the results WILL come!
Brook - i'm maintaining, too. 117 for me this week. my goal is to maintain.
no exercise for me this week - too sick! but, thanks to this site, i am able to track what i'm eating and make some healthy changes. so far, so good! i'll just be glad when i can get back on the treadmill ![]()
yea sry im late....i moved to boston and it was pretty hectic. lol.
so i weighed in at 136.4 (the scale at my school gym is digital!) this is up 1.4 pounds....but i did it with my shoes on, something i don't normally do. so running shoes weigh about 5 pounds, right? haha. i figure they are atleast 1 pound, so i only gained .4 lbs. i can live with that.
im so jealous of everyone running. good luck guys! the half marathon will be a real challenge, but you'll feel soooo good when your done!
My friends boyfriend broke up with her last night and we got so drunk. I dont even want to know how many calories are in jager bombs.... anyways now I am going to get back on track lol.

Thanks for the inspiring quotes kirsten420- I just love them!!!!!!!
Hi all, I'd love to join the forum, I just turned 25 and I've lost a little over 25lbs in the past 6 months; weighting 158 now. I try to walk 45 min at least 5 times a week and I do awesome during the week, but then...the weekend comes around and my fiance and I will have a few drinks on Friday or go out to eat and alcohol leads to poor food choices for me. Eating out kills me too so we said we're cutting back big time on that. I did great last weekend, on Fri at least & okay on Sat but then Sunday came and I had a huge-gianormous double meatball footlong sub for lunch and pizza for dinner - what was I thinking?!!?!?! I did great yesterday though and feel like I'm back on track, but I almost dread the weekends! Anyone with a similar problem?
Denne11- Welcome to Boston, I live south of the city - hope you get to enjoy the beautiful weather - supposed to be 60 today, which is a great change from the 8 degrees it was last week!
I am 25 also, and a newlywed.
Yes, I have the same problem with eating out (or with ordering in, if its pizza!)
My husband and I decided together that we just had to make our own food almost all the time. We might eat out once a month. The beautiful thing is on that one night a month I order whatever I want and don't worry about the calories because I know it is a special occasion. I might also spend an extra 20 minutes on the elliptical the next day.
Eating out is definitely hard. In my opinion the best solution is to just not do it.
Welcome Ladies,
I'm also 25 I have 7 more to lose, which sounds like a lil but I just checked and I've weighed the same for over a month now (give or take a pound) so I'm going through a lil plateau. But be encouraged we have a lot of great motivators in here and throughout the site.
Eating out is my weakness as well. Why must high cal/high carb food be sooo delicious, and don't get me started on Dessert
lol
Hello everyone,
I just found this forum so I hope it's o.k. to join in now.
I'm 25, married, and getting ready to have my second daughter. Well, my wife is having her - I just got to put on the husband's pregnancy weight. I was 218.5 the Monday before Thanksgiving (when I decided to make a change). I'm 200.5 as of this morning. I'm 6'2 and my first goal on the site is 190.
I have a desk job so I sit ALL DAY. I go to the gym every morning before work to get the blood pumping for the day. It's been a really great experience so far.
I look forward to getting to know you all.
Hello!
Sorry I didn't post my weight last week. Since we have been tracking our weight my progress has gone as follows:
Week 1: 234
Week 2: 235.4
Week 3: 234.8
So the weight loss is slow but at least I am losing. Has anyone here tried the new diet supplement Alli? I have been using it for two weeks now and it seems to have helped break my plateau. I really need to start an exercise program but it is difficult with my 8 month old daughter. I don't have anyone to watch her so I can do what i need to do. I try to slip in crunches and other floor exercises when I can but I don't think it is enough. I also have a problem with space where ai live is very cramped for space so.........Anyway sorry to sound wo negative!!!! All is well and however slow it may be, I am losing weight.
Thank you all for the encouraging words and motivating tips.
Kirsten - I like your daily quotes!!!!
This forum is great! I have enjoyed reading it so much, thanks everybody (especially Kirsten)
I am 24F, 5'7, 190. My goal is about 50lbs. And, I am really looking forward to getting some motivation from ths thread :)
So far, I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to keep my calories down to 1700 since Jan. 1st. I had two good days and the rest have just all been embarassing. Hopefully if I keep trying, I will eventually get it right. If I can go a whole week I'm going to celebrate!
Dang! Us 25 y/o's are taking over lol.![]()
Welcome to group noobs, I beleive Kirsten made the official weigh in day Friday so feel free to jump in there.
@ Vegetariangeek LOL you are so right I can hear em in my head now, "5 steps to the left, 5 more to the left" I'm almost in the other room lol
Seriously amayou - even if I had a bigger house it still wouldn't be the size of an aerobics studio. Kind of have to just do it on the spot and hope for the best.
Thablast I had expected Christmas day itself and the few days after that to be bad, but assumed I would be back on track Jan 1. Obviously I was delusional, I used the exact same word to describe my ability to stick to my goals: "embarassing." &nb sp; What I've tried over the past three days is to look in my fridge, see what I might eat, portion it all out (weigh it, measure it, add up the calories), and then tell myself I can eat that food sometime during the day tomorrow. Maybe at breakfast, maybe later, but that's what equals X calories in total so that's what I can eat whenever I feel hungry for it. I'll probably get bored or undisciplined by the weekend, but it's getting me through today!
welcome to all the new peeps!:)
TARITAKAYE-
I have tried alli---I did lose some, but make sure you be drinking a lot of water, and getting enough fiber- ( I tended to get a little constipated- sorry to get personal...lol) and watch out if you eat something too high in fat...(the opposite occurs....)
but honestly, It's plain old diet and exercise these days for me... the alli worked for me for a little while, but I found I began to rely on it, which I didn't like... it was like 'i can eat this if I take the alli... etc etc....' i've lost almost as much doing diet/exercise as I did with alli.... for me, it's better for me to buy new running shoes than to buy the alli- (because I took advantage of it..) hopefully you won't take advantage like I did, it gets very tempting. Good luck!!!
@ Vege
I understand, I had to buy a membership to a gym. It also motivated me to go cause there is no way I'm gonna pay my money and not use the facility.
