Does anyone get really tired to the point of falling asleep at work in the afternoon??!!
I've been so so tired today. It's quite warm. I maybe didn't get the best quality sleep last night.
I'm just so so so tired and hungry (which, when you're calorie counting to lose weight, isn't a handy thing in the afternoon). I know I'm tired when I just want to eat. It's like my body saying 'feed me or let me sleep now'. Urgh! It's awful.
I had pasta for lunch, then went for a walk. Came back ready to lie on the floor for sleeps. Oh dear.
Anyone got any tips? I get it occasionally. Could have murdered a snickers bar or bag of chips or 'fries' (for everyone across the water). Or a big long nap. But obviously could do neither.
And the thought of the gym later? Oh my. I'm just so sleeeeeepy.
Brain slowly shutting down... :(
Did you know that women are more likely to get cold than men? Our skin is literally thinner than mens and releases more of our body heat! It is science!
I keep blankets at work to put over my lap and a sweater at my desk at all times. I won't lie - sometimes I want to wear mittens - but it is hard to type with them on. So I drink tea and hug the mug to keep my hands warm.
But as for falling asleep at my desk? All the time. My work can be boring or slow and our office is secluded and quiet and so I prop up my head on my hand open some notes... face away from my cubicle door and take me a little snooze. I just can't help it. It has nothing to do with lack of sleep or low iron. Its just boredom!

sooooooo....
I'm a guy AND i'm black...maybe this is why i'm hot during the winter...lol ![]()
in my case(since i get tested every 6 months) it is lack of iron...but even now that i have iron I STILL fall asleep 4-5 times a day at work. I'm not bored or anything...it's just extreme fatigue i guess...I do take in 6000 calories a day and i do workout like a freak....this might also contribute so...eehhhh...I like the little naps....besides I'm the marketing Director here...who's gunna fire me?...lol
it's possible that some people's natural circadian rhythm is to slow down and rest in the afternoon, even if their thyroid is healthy, their iron is good, their diet is balanced and they're getting enough exercise
sometimes we think that our biology should conform to our work schedules, but our biology doesn't know that ![]()
but i did read that people who drink more than 2 cups of strong coffee in the morning are more likely to feel the slump in the afternoon, whereas people who spread their caffeine out and take it in weaker doses don't experience this as much - so that's a thought.
They used to have naptime at work but adults complained. :)
I don't get tired anymore-or rarely. When I soley worked for myself, I would take mid afternoon naps alot.
Don't need them anymore and I get less sleep then I used to then. I credit it to eating good unprocessed food, eating frequent meals and exercising a lot more. I also think being thinner helps me not feel as much like a slug or beached whale
and I just have a ton more energy.
Funny what jane said about your burn nutella-2200 is good. I am 5'6 and 140 ish and know I must burn alot more than what CC says because I eat a good 1700-1900 cals on avg and still manage to lose weight-slow sometimes but I do. I find I am way more aware of my need for fuel since making all of these changes.
Also have always been cold-my whole life-esp my nose!
