I've been on this plan since July. I'm using more for maintenance then to lose weight. I had lost 30 pounds (health issue) but was gaining it back trying low fat/low calories/depriving myself of food (really wanted to keep the weight off). I was looking for a sensible plan that I could stick it out...for life...and maintain my weight. I LOVE IT!! Easy to stick to and you will see results. My abs are certainly flat.
When I am naughty and fall off the "wagon"...back to the Abs diet and I'm back to my maintance weight very quickly. I'd say, it is not really a diet but more of a way of life.
The super bonus is that you get to eat so many yummy foods. The only thing I do not do is the smoothies. They are too much sugar (even natural) for my body to handle (sugar sets off binge eating with me). Otherwise, I eat every thing else on the plan.
I've read all of the Ab Diet books and think the author is a genius!!
I often wonder why more people are not talking about this diet!!
My husband and I have been doing the Abs Diet since early December and are having great results. We've been slacking a bit lately but the overall result is we are steadily losing weight, are never hungry and the workouts are helping us lose inches!
I want to know more, too. Especially the part about the smoothies!!
Who wrote the book? What's it called?
The Abs Diet For Woman, The Abs Diet, The Abs Diet/Ultimate Nutrition Handbook, The Abs Diet/Eat Right Every Time Guide
by David Zinczenko (editor-in-chief of Men's Health)
All the major book chain stores have his books. Sometimes they are sold out though. You can also look for his books on Ebay. One book I could not get at the store, I was able to get through a seller on Ebay.
O, I forgot to mention:
I feel GREAT on this diet. Tons of energy. Up in the morning and ready to...go, go, go!!
I worked at Barnes and Noble for two years and passed by this book every day, so one day I bought it and it's been sitting on my bookshelf for a while. But I'm almost done reading it now and I really enjoy the knowledge in this book. Makes me think twice about what I'm putting in my body. I was surprised to find out that aerobics aren't that great for you compared to just lifting weights. The book says you burns calories 48 hours after you've lifted weights whereas your body only burns calories I believe he said 30 minutes after you've worked out with aerobics. Protein is also great for your body to lose weight and shed the fat off your body. I did try cottage cheese, which was suggested in the book, and I just can't do it. hahaha. Not my favorite texture in the world.
I also bought two dvds related to the book. One is the Abs Diet dvd and the other is the Total Body Workout by Tom Holland who does the exercises in the Abs Diet dvd. Good work out that'll help to make my abs show through.
