I just wondered if anyone had tried alli - i've only heard bad stories, but it must work or the FDA wouldn't have approved it - right?

Well, sure. It works.. in conjunction with Diet and Exercise. However, if you don't diet and exercise right (and I hear you have to be on a VERY Low-fat diet to use Alli), it doesn't work and there are side effects.

Personally, I think you should skip the Alli and do Diet and Exercise. That way you don't need the extreme low-fat diet.

did you actually take it?

I used Alli for 2 weeks.  I never ate a lot of high fat foods and was careful with monitoring my fat intake.  The first week was OK...however...the second week I started to experience the "side effects".  I had cramps and the oily discharge that they talk about.  I was terrified to eat anything, I also had some cramps.  The really bad part was that I had an additional reaction...a yeast infection, so Ihad to stop taking it.  2 weeks later, I'm still losing weight.
I was looking into it and found that proactol actually blocks more fat than alli and is suppose to not have the leaking problem that alli gives you.  I had been on meridian before and it gave you lots of diary and the discharge also.  I have been on the proactol now for 2 weeks and it has been working great.  With my dieting and exercising with the proactol I lost 4.5 lbs first week and at like 2 + in 3 days into week 2.  It's suppose to block 28% of the fat you eat.  And from my experience you pee it out not diary!!!!!

I have been using it, but only with my dinner meal and i havnt had the side effects.  It seems to be helping but diet is the main thing!
Wait... There is no way you can be peeing out undigested fat... that wouldnt follow the natural renal process... Im gunna say its probably coming out the bum but with little to no side effects.  ... it might be effecting your renal system though.. what kind of side effects accompany proactol?

First Alli is expensive!!!  Save the extra money and put it towards high quality organic foods and specialty foods you usually can't afford to jump start your diet!

While on my diet I have noticed that healthy food is not bad at all if you have the $$ to spend.

My sister and mother both tried alli, both had more than 1 accident even though they consumed a low (Very low) fat diet.

Sorry dont want to steal the thread, but I am a big advocate of Proactol as well, no know side effects, works better than alli.

Downfall... its expensive and there are good fats it absorbs as well so you need to add a few extra vitamins to your daily diet if you take it.

you can win proactol for free at here just click on the top right corner
I use Alli, and I've had no treatment effects, even when I cheat.  I have lost almost 10 pounds in a month.  I follow a low calorie diet (1200-1600 cals) but not a really low fat diet (fat 30% of calories). I am really close to my ideal weight, so it's hard for me to lose the last few pounds.  That's why I've tried Alli.  I have been dieting for 3 years, and in a plateau for 1 year.  I am not exercising much, due to surgery on my foot, so it's pretty much all dieting for me.  Alli pretty much works the best in the 1st 6 months of taking it, so most people will not be on it long term.
