I just got an email from hungry-girl mentioning fiber gourmet pasta. It has 130 calories in a 2 ounce serving of this pasta, and I was just wondering if anyone has tried it before? I LOVE pasta and a 2 ounce serving at 130 cals is about 40% less than average pasta. Plus it has 18 grams of fiber per serving, 7gs of protein and all that fun stuff.

I was just wondering if anyone has tried it so I can get reviews on whether I should order it or not.

I haven't but I want to give it a shot!!! I hope someone can weigh in on this.

18 grams of fiber.... I better stock up on the TP now!

I nearly ordered it, but you HAVE to buy 4 bags of the stuff, and shipping is nearly 9 bucks. I know the bags are 10 ounces a pack, which is 5 servings a bag and x's the 4 you HAVE to buy, that would last me probably forever, but jesus! LoL. I'm considering ittttt, but I'm scared :)
darn it. i ordered it.

Hehehe..... will you be my guinea pig??? I want to know how it tastes!

So selfless of you, to do such a thing ;)

Alright. I'll be a guinea pig, but NEVER again a pig LoL. I ordered the whole wheat (3 packs) and the spinach (1 pack). The other ones I'm not too sure about :)

Heres all the flavors

WOAH the whole wheat has 20gs of fiber in it. More TP is right. I already eat a cup of fiber one every morning. O.o

I saw that email from HG as well and debated.
I would be interested in finding out about the chocolate. Odd.
Ew I wouldn't. Chocolate pasta? Need I say more? Just seems kinda creepy. Maybe it's good dry. Crunchy :) Ha. What would you top it with?

Peanut butter.  Hehe.

20 g of fiber?  With all the fiber I get already, I'm not sure I could handle that.  Good luck!
chocolate pasta tastes nothing like chocolate, oddly enough! :D
I would top chocolate pasta off with pureed strawberry ('spaghetti sauce' LOL) and a tad of whip cream.
Yum.
What is the link for the posting on hungry girl? I cannot find it!
I ordered the sampling pack yesterday.  As I try out the flavors (it may take a few weeks), I'll let you know how they are.

Search for pasta on the hg site and the 8/27 newsletter pops up.  BTW, I think the shiratake noodles are positively nasty.
I just got 10% off because they can't fill my order until next week.  Yeah!!!

I guess they filled my order because I didn't get the 10%. Yay I get to try them first.

As for the hungry girl website, go to www.hungry-girl.com. Someone was asking about that right? Sign up for her newsletter. I love HG!

Ya I was talking to my friend about the chocolate pasta, and he mentioned a raspberry puree or strawberry one, maybe a reduced honey sauce. NO idea. Not like I could eat that. LoL. I'll stay away.

Sticking to whole wheat.

I think i'm getting my pasta tomorrow. UPS says the 7th, but it's already in Phoenix. I'm like right down the street...

Exciting!

I got my sampler pack last week.  I'm going to cook some up tonight and try them. I think I'll start with the standard fettucini and possibly the chocolate which are billed as making a good dessert...add some berries and whipped cream maybe.
*waits with curiosity to find out what chocolate pasta is like*
Okay, here's the deal:

I tried the regular fettuccini = pretty normal noodle, no funny taste, no odd texture.  It went very well with the frozen herbed mahi mahi that I put on top of it.

Chocolate fettuccini = does not taste like chocolate...just  hint of chocolate, perhaps some cinnamon will bring it out.  Not bad, but not spectacular like the name sounds.  The fresh raspberries and whipped cream certainly were what made the dish good.  I think you could easily use these as just an alternate pasta.

These beat any variety of reduced calorie pasta that I've ever tried...pasta is officially back on my menu!

I second that! I tried the whole wheat pasta and it was super good. Nothing strange about it. No weird slimyness like those japanese noodles hungry girl was trying to shove down my throat.

I'm really glad I found this stuff. It's super filling too. 120 cals for pasta, 50 for sauce, 100 for 4oz chicken, and 1/2 a cup of peas and you're stuffed :)
