Has anyone tried hypnosis ?
Hey, y'all !
I just ordered Tom Nicoli's hypnosis CDs to help me get motivated for my weight loss ! I was skeptical at first, but I did a lot of research, and hypnosis is over 90% effective !
My question is : Has anyone tried hypnosis ? Did it work for you ? Share your testimonials ! ![]()
Hi,
I can't swear that my results is ONLY due to this experience but I think that it was at least a part of it.
I watched a program on discovery health called " I can make you thin". I forget the guys name, Paul something, Any way he was billed as a hypnotist to the stars. I did what he said and it killed my nonstop chocolate desire and consumption immediately. Also, he encouraged walking as exercise and did a hypnosis exercise to develop walking more. I followed this also and I started walking like never before. I would even walk in the rain, drizzle or down pour it didn't matter. I was recovering from an ankle injury and dealing with other painful health issues so I couldn't walk far but I started. I worked up to walking 1-1.5 hours per session and I added weights as I increased my distance. Regretfully, I chose to stop my walks last week because I was informed that there is a BEAR in the development. So I have been doing DVD's and a mini trampoline in the house. I have stayed motivated and have lost 32 pounds... That's how much my 3 year old weighs... I have erased a small child worth of fat from my body in the last 5 months, Oi Yoi Yoi!!!
My feeling is that for me the hypnosis was free over the TV so I had nothing to lose. I am very leery of the cost to success ratio re: weight loss products and I don't believe in diets. That being said I believe that hypnosis may be effective but be mindful of the cost and promises... CC is an amazing tool and anyone looking to succeed on this journey needs to be wise regarding their choices and not just rely on some method out side yourself for results.
Good luck with your journey, be wise,be safe.
Hi, I've tried hypnosis. I went for about 3 or 4 sessions. It wasn't effective for me in terms of weight loss. It cost about $130.00 I think. It was about 10 years ago. I did find however that one of the techniques he taught me was self hynosis for relaxation and I still use that to this day when I'm having difficulty getting to sleep or if I'm all stressed about things it can really calm me and relax me enough to fall asleep. I agree with you franchellb. CC can be an amazing tool if you use it to help lose, but in the end it also requires something inside of you to achieve success with a permanent weightloss.

Indeed, hypnosis alone cannot make you lose weight. The goal of hypnosis is to motivate you and to give you MORE willpower to achieve your dream weight !

Thank you for your testimonial, franchllb ! Your story is one amongst many that prove the efficiency of hypnosis !
Let's hope it'll work for me ! (It should, since hypnotherapists say that the more you WANT to lose weight, the more it'll work.) ![]()
Not sure where you got the 90% figure, but I'm in psycho-oncology research and all I've ever read for hypnosis used with reducing side effects to cancer treatment is very variable - Some people are able to be hypnotized and it works for them, some people are not suggestable at all and it does nothing. Placebo effect can be very strong as well, although if it gets the results you want the mechanism probably doesn't make much difference.

So, your hypnotherapist is saying that people who are already motivated are more likely to lose weight than people who aren't?
In other news, water is wet.

What I meant by that is that someone who goes for hypnosis only because of peer pressure (like his wife who wants him to stop smoking) won't be affected by the treatment.
Sorry for my poor wording, I'm french Canadian.
I have been using Paul McKenna's cd and it's hypnosis and yes i think it works im walking more and eating less and i have lost about 28 pounds since coming here in April of this year! :) So yes i believe it works!

Great ! I know won't make me lose weigh, but I'm pretty sure it might help me to get the necessary willpower to go out for walks and that kind of stuff. ![]()
it annoys me when people get on cc and act snarky. there's no point in that. let's support each other productively.
All I can tell you is that I'm in an AP Psych class in school and my teach says that hypnosis is all fake!! :(
My mom lost 50 lbs using hypnosis and the GI Diet. She used the hypnosis to give her motivation to be the best swimmer she could be(swims 5 days a week) and in order to do that she needed to fuel her body with good things so she used the diet. The hypnosis helped her stay on track. It reprogrammed her. She is the one standing next to me(I am in blue). She started out going once a week and now only has to go once a month for maintenance. She used it about 15 years ago the last time she lost weight.
I did the think and shrink program (http://www.thinkandshrink.com). I think that it worked pretty well. I lost about 8 pounds without really doing much in terms of changing my habits. It just kicked in somehow and I sort of noticed myself eating less. I weighed myself after like 6 weeks of doing it and noticed that I had just dropped weight. I think the hypnosis was probably helpful in it because I wasn't really doing much else.
Where can I see 1/8th or 1/6th of a pie or angel food cake?
This is the best way to picture a portion of pie or cake: Draw a circle to represent the circumference of the cake or pie (9" pie? 10" cake?... Read more
