My time here at CC has told me one thing. I am a carb junkie, must be that italian blood LOL. I was curious if anyone tried one of those carb blockers & rather hoping someone found it successful. I miss my pasta.

Bump :-)
You can still eat pasta as long as you stay within your calorie range.
I have to say that I don't believe any type of blocker works except for Alli, but it's for fat and the amount it blocks is minimal as far as weight loss goes. Plus the side effect is... greasy under garments.

that low carb pasta and whole wheat pasta are really good.
i always wondered about these carb blockers too...
but to make more volume in your pasta dishes add lots of veggies chunks so the "serving size" of pasta is acceptable.

I have used the carb-blocker from GNC, and it works well. I have been on low-carb for 5 years, so any pasta shows the next day - seriously! It's called "CarbIntercept". Wal-mart sells it, too, but it is NOT the same. The price is about the same, but it DOES NOT work. Don't fall for the bottles at Wal-mart. Go to GNC and get it. I asked a saleswoman at GNC why the product might be different, and she said Wal-mart buys it from the same company, but Wal-mart wants to make more profit so they let the company change the ingredients (or maybe the quality or freshness) and try to pass it off as the same thing. Seriously, I can eat a Gyro, or lasagna, and it OK if I take 2-4 pills 5 minutes prior.
Hope this helped.
PS- I am currently trying to get off low-carb. My body reacts strongly to any carbs that are not fiber. Any starch or sugar (ANY) and I put on weight. I don't recommend low-carbing to anyone. But cutting carbs, when you plan to eat at the Olive Garden (for example) is a good idea.

OF COURSE the people at GNC are going to say that -- they want you to buy from THEM! That makes no sense whatsoever. If the package is the same and the ingredient listing is the same, it's the same.
walmart does that with a lot of products.
even electronics.
how much was that carb blocker?
did it make you feel sick or anything?

No, it didn't make me feel sick. And it was about the same price as what they sell at GNC. Wal-mart's bottles have 30 instead of 60, and they are about 1/2 the dollar amount. So it is perfectly comparable. However, and anyone can look and see for themselves if they don't want to take my word for it, the pills from GNC are a diffrerent size, even, from those I bought from from Walmart. I hadn't completely run out of the first bottle (from GNC) and I went to Walmart, saw it there, and bought it. I have no explanation for any of it. I just know that I actually did put on weight while using the product Ipurchased from Walmart. Whereas I had only lost/maintained my weight while using the product from GNC. It is up to each person if they choose to beleive me. But, whatever the difference was, the GNC product worked, and the Walmart one didn't. I usually have to complaints about Walmart brand stuff. I'll buy there brand, usually, before I'd buy the national brand of a lot of things. This was the first time I was disappointed.
oh gosh i love pasta too. I just try to stay within my calorie range.
I may change what i eat though, and have half a serving of pasta, with the rest of the plate full of vegetables.

i am trying a carb blocker that is just made of white kidney bean extract. it's supposed to have the same effect but all natural. i'll let you know how it works. all the user reviews i read were really positive.
