Anyone try the Wii Fit yet?
I got a Wii Fit the first day they came out, and it is such a great workout. It also is a fantastic way to keep track of your measurements. It is very good at targeting muscles, and it gives you goals to work for. Also, it is quite a good motivating too. I suggest one for everyone. Let me know if you have any success stories yet, thanks!
I've used it everyday for the last week and had a lot of fun with it, my sister and brother also got their Mii into it (I'm the only one who bloated, by the way!) so it's challenging seeing how we do and trying to do better, beat each other's scores. I've already unlocked every aerobic and balance game and I'm working my way with the yoga, I do an hour a day at least but of course the Wii counts it as 30 minutes, what I find exciting is that I can finally do some excercises for 10 minutes non-stop... that's what gets me going, specially the boxing and footing.
On the other hand, I was off it yesterday and probably today too, I haven't gotten my period and I feel terribly uncomfortable, oh!... I should say after the first few days of some tonification/yoga combinations (that it suggested) I did get mildly sore but nothing to worry about, I find it exciting. I should probably mention I'm on a VLCD diet too, I've lost at least 3 pounds in the past week and a half without straining myself.
I use it as my scale. It's pretty damn cool.
COOL! I just unlocked the boxing, it is awesome! NGG21- if you dont mind me asking I was curious what exactly is the VLCD Diet? I have my exercise down but my diet is still out of whack!
Well, a VLCD is a "very low calorie diet", I started three months ago with 800 calories a day, I see my doctor every two weeks, the weight loss was massive for this first three months (about 20 kilos, 44 pounds). Lately I do between 900-1000 calories a day, I should mention that my level of activity is pretty null... and if it wasn't for the Fit I wouldn't get to moving, or actually sweating, that much.
I'm 5'5 and down from 266 to 222 lbs (120.8 kilos to 101, I think in kilos over here!). Often I fear I'm stuck, and my doctor assures me my "body type" doesn't require more than another 25 kilos loss or so... I'm not sure if that puts my BMI in a healthy range (probably not), but I've been told I shouldn't trust that thing too much.
Congrats on the weight loss! Thats great! Thanks for the info. I have been trying to eat 1400 a day, and I am having trouble with that! I am 5'6 and 185lbs. But I have not lost barely anything yet ![]()

You might want to try zig-zagging your calories. How much are you working out, by the way?
One day, eat 1400. The next, maybe eat 1550-1600. Then go back to about 1350-1450. Whatever makes sense to you, haha.
By the way everyone, there is a rather large topic about the Wii Fit here: http://caloriecount.about.com/forums/post/950 90.html
I usually do my elliptical in the morning for about 10 min., situps, and weights (so about 25 min) and then in the evening I do about 20 min. of wii fit. But I only work out 5 days a week.

I'm surprised your doctor is suggesting such a diet. Females shouldn't eat less than 1200 calories a day and Males 1500. Just not healthy for you and your body. If you eat too little, then your body will finally shut down and your metabolism will come to a hault. Zig zagging calories does work well with many people, myself included, to keep your body guessing and to keep it from slowing down. Make sure you are losing the right weight. You don't want to lose muscle, but the fat. The more muscle you keep, the better.
How is everyone entering their Wii Fit activity on their activity log? I'm very new to this site and am just getting into recognizing activity levels.
I've had my Wii Fit for a little more than week, and I've enjoyed it a lot PLUS it's getting my kids to be more active, too. I love how it keeps track of everything for you, and I especially love the silliness of some of the games.
I have been logging my strength training as calisthetics vigorus and I put in the amount of time that I do. I hope that its right because I do work up quite a sweat when I do my planks or pushups. I also make sure for every work out I am doing each excersise in each group at least one time. the only one I skip is the breathing for yoga.
Has anyone tried using a tredmill while the ran on wii fit? Running in place kills my knees and we have too much furniture in my basement to run around.

Oh, I hate the planks and pushups!! But, I need to work on them. I would feel quite an accomplishment if I could make *any* progress at all in those exercises!!

I try to do each of them in every, group, too. I've given up the yoga breathing, and I will only do the jogging if I have the time to get shoes on and off; otherwise, my feet hurt too much. Maybe I'll just switch to doing our elliptical instead & then log that in the Activity Log.
Thanks for your feedback!
I do not like doing planks on the wii board they hurt my forearms. I mean I do them anyway and they are more challenging but really not my cup of tea. Im thinking about getting the silicone cover for the board cause mayb it will give it some padding.
This is my first post, so hopefully I do it correctly!
I got a Wii fit when it came out, and I LOVE it!
I despise exercising and tend to be an all or nothing type when it comes to that. But wii fit is different because it's fun and I can vary my routine and still feel like I'm playing. I'm not good at yoga (back injury and not very flexible), but love doing everything else. I had to laugh when my mii got fatter, what motivation that supplied!!
My kids also love wii fit, which makes it worth the money in itself. My daughter is tall and very thin, but my son is very tall and somewhat stocky. I want him to shape up a little bit this summer. He's very muscular, but has a decent layer of fat in certain areas. He matches up on his height/weight charts, but I just want to make sure nobody teases him since he's very sensitive.
I've been entering my minutes as either jogging or low impact aerobics, depending on what I've done. I don't count the balance section because it seems like it would artificially inflate how much I've burned, and I don't count strength training, but not for any particular reason.
I went out a bought the wii fit last weekend.. I've only been able to try it a few times so far, because my kids just love it! It was fun, what i did try.. and my mii got so round
I think I will just use it as an extra bonus activity though and keep with the exercise I have been doing. I cant wait until my husband gets around to trying it!
I've used it every day but one for the past 15 days. Woo. My piggy bank turned bronze-ish yesterday as I hit 10 hours.
I have only seen about 2 lbs of weight loss since I started which is really depressing. But, i haven't been doing well on my diet and I'm sure my body is adjusting to this whole "dieting thing".
Since I do an average of 45 (logged) minutes of Wii Fit a day and try to walk more, I just upped my activity to lightly active. I feel it's better than trying to figure out how to log 3 minutes of hoola hooping.

I would imagine if you've been working out 45 mins/day on the Wii that you're building some muscle, which is going to offset any fat you've lost. So don't let yourself get discouraged with the small number! How do you feel? Are you clothes fitting differently???
Ahhh ... you all are motivating me. I've not been on our for 2 days now. I need to get that done!
