Well, I finally made it through the holidays, and gained weight of course. I was close to being at my all time high for weight! And the bad news is my wedding is now less than 4 months away.
The good news is, I have been eating healthy and journaling everything I eat... & my fiancee' has too. We are staying right within our daily calorie goals, and we have both lost weight since Jan 1st. I have lost 4 pounds, and my goal is to lose 20-25 by my wedding day, May 12th (this year). I am determined to do this! I still won't be at my real goal weight of 135 ... but at least i will almost be there - hoping to get to 155-160 by May 12th.
Anyone else going through this right now?

no wedding for me, but cool name ;) :D
No wedding for me, but a big day nonetheless on May 11th. I was hoping to lose another 12 lbs by then (lost almost 5 so far).
I'm trying to log everything as accurately as possible, overstimating if I have to estimate, and not counting activities unless it's real exercise.
The calorie counting really motivates me to exercise a little if I want to eat a little more than my allowance. (My weakness is lindor truffles)
Are you trying to stick to 12-1400/day?

I am sticking to about 1500 a day...
I go to the gym 4 days a week - I weight train & do cardio also... so I factor in a little more b/c of that. According to the calorie counter tool, that should be fine. But since I am writing everything down, if I find I stop losing weight, then I will be able to adjust my intake...

Not losing weight for my wedding, but for my best friend's. I'm one of the three bridesmaids, and the other two are tiny, tiny girls. My friend's wedding is in '08 though, so I still have a lot of time yet to lose the weight. Even so, I plan on reaching 160 by May/June so I'm kinda with you there. Good luck!
Me!!!
My wedding is a bit further away, Nov. 2 2007.
Currently at 190, started at 202, looking to be about 140-150.
The wedding is def. great motivation... although I'm terrified now my dress will be too big!! I ordered in in July, it has yet to come in.. so hopefully I will be at a good weight for my first fitting.
Did you buy your dress yet?

Yes, I bought my dress; tried it on and ordered in September, and picked it up 2 weeks ago ... Got it from David's Bridal (Bad experience! They messed up and ordered the wrong size; way too small!) - Anyway, I got the dress size straightened out, I took the one off the rack that I tried on originally and they kept the one they ordered for me that was too small! They were not very nice about it either. I don't recommend them at all. Although, I do like the dress.
The dress I have does fit now, it's a little big in some areas, but I was told a decent seamstress can usually bring the dress in as much as 2 or 3 sizes. Anything more than that could be a problem with the shape/style of the dress.
So if I lose 20 pounds, i should still be ok ... Going to go for my first fitting soon ... probably 2-3 weeks from now. Trying to wait until I lose a few more pounds before going. Might as well!
I would say if you plan on dropping that much more weight - then wait until maybe 5 or 6 months before the wedding to order your dress ?? It depends on who you are getting it through too, right?
GOOD LUCK! I hope you get to your goal weight! A wedding is definetely motivating to say the least! I know with all the money I am paying for my photographer, I don't want to hate my pictures b/c of how I look! So that motivated me! And of course I want to look good on my honeymoon for my husband ;)

Oh - I just realized that you already ordered your dress, well, it should work out just fine!
Me too! Me too!
Our wedding is Oct 27, 2007.

My wedding is March 17. I would love to drop some pounds before walking down the aisle. My weakness is red wine. My food calories are fine until you factor in the wine!
Hey guys!
My wedding is Aug 3rd/07! I am now only 3lbs away from my "goal weight", but still looking to tone up for my strapless Maggie dress! Good luck with your goals, Brides, and stick to calorie-count no matter what you do! I've lost over 30lbs since last july using this service and the gym...and I started before I got engaged, so wedding motivation is only part of the picture!

Check out this website, it is amazing, I have come up with sooo many ideas from it, It is all real people who are getting married; they create their own 'bios' and post their wedding pictures, and there are specialty bios that list, for instance, "Curly hairstyles" only.
Or: Cake bios, or Centerpieces bios.... Gives you tons of ideas. Check it out!!!!!!

First of all- congratulations!!
And second... I'm not getting married, but I am a bridesmaid for my friend who is getting married on May 19. We got our dresses yesterday and I am trying to lose so i can get my alterations done!
There's a lot of pressure with a deadline, but it is also very motivating.
Good luck and congrats again!!

ME TOO! We were looking at '08 so thought I had oodles of time but now we are bumping it up to August of '07 because of job offers and moving and such. YIKES!!!! I am at 235 right now and wanted to be at 150 for the wedding but since we are moving it up I am just trying to lose as much as possible between now and then.
I have held off ordering my dress because I want to get a smaller size and save money on it. That is just so wrong to have to pay anywhere from 50-200+ more for a dress that is plus size.
Ok, kinda off topic but.... I am suddenly hearing all these horror stories about David's Bridal. They told me that as long as I am paying full price for my dress they can do a total size exchange and I would be safe to order the exchange up to 6 weeks before the wedding. I was kind of counting on that but now I am nervous! Also a seamstress at a different bridal boutique told me that they can alter most dresses up 1-2 sizes at most but down 5-6 sizes. That worries me too though because I am scared of it not looking right with all the extra nips and tucks.

My Brother is getting married and I am a bridesmaid. He has put on some wieght and we are both looking to take off - so extra motivation is a $250 bet we have going. I need to lose another 18 lbs by May 15th. I have lost 6. But I really want to be at 140 for the wedding. I am eating small every 3 hours or so... I have lost 6 lbs in a week or so. I think that the small meal (i.e:yogurt & fiber one or a peice of string cheese) is really working... But I think working out will kick it up a notch - ICK!!! Also I LOOOVE dinner and cheese so I know I have to be better about these things....
Let me know if you have any sucess with anything specific!
CONGRATS AND GOOD LUCK!

I think my biggest 'motivation' is that my fiancee' is losing weight with me. It helps b/c we can share ideas and nutrition info, and talk about things that are tempting us and lean on each other... I fell that without him, I would have a harder time.
We also go to the gym together. I am grateful to have that motivation of someone else working towards the same goal!

I had started doing this and then a week ago my boyfriend asked me to marry him. We aren't planning to get married until 2008, but before then I want to lose as much as possible. I need help staying motivated though, as much as I want to lose the weight, I find myself snacking on the wrong things on the weekend, even if I was perfect for the rest of the week. How can I stop doing that? Also, I go out to dinner a lot on the weekends because I'm in college and too busy to cook, how can I stay away from a lot of the unhealthy foods and stay relatively strict with what I'm eating? Help!
I'm trying to lose weight for my wedding too. Well, I'm doing it for myself since I've been fat my whole life. The wedding it just extra modivation at his point. It's hard.
Hey!
I'm getting married June 14th 2007! And even though I probably won't reach my goal weight by then (I have a LOT to lose), my main thing is that I want to lose weight off my arms and back because I'm wearing a corset.
If I don't end up losing the weight off my legs that is less of a worry cos I'm making the biggest skirt in the world to cover it all! My outfit is all about accentuating my good bits and hiding bad bits no matter what weight I am.
I've got the advantage of making my own skirt though, so can take it in whenever I wish. I can't imagine the stress of getting your dress done by a shop - I hope it all works out for those who have ordered them already!
My main goals each day are to eat small portions, and eat regularly - rather than forgetting to eat and then eating a huge dinner cos I'm starving by the evening! Plus avoiding eating big loads of carbs (which of course I love!)
The best of luck to all those trying to lose weight for their wedding/or for being bridesmaids etc!

Hello! I am trying to lose weight for my wedding as well June 30, 2007. I was about five pounds lighter when I purchased my dress in July and am afraid those five pounds might be the five pounds to make the dress too tight. I have been working out like crazy at the gym, weight training and doing cardio at least three times a week. I just started following this to try to hopefully meet my goal by June.
I have started the "buff brides' workout book to try to tone the arms, but I swear triceps never tone!
