Does anyone have Twitter?
Hey everyone,
I'm just wondering if anyone has twitter? It's pretty fun. If you are looking for friends my page is http://twitter.com/katiew02
Also, I just want to wish everyone good luck with their weight loss/maintanence
I have been thinking about it but I do not know if what I do and think is interesting enough to post on the internet. Tell me how it is going for you, I don't know anyone else that tweets
!
Yeah, it is relatively new, and I don't know too many people on it. But I really like it. I follow some of my favourite celebrities and comics that have it, and I think it is pretty cool. They actually reply to you sometimes.
You can also find people, and they suggest friends. It's just something fun to do :)
from everything i've seen and heard, it looks like a collosal waste of time. stream-of-consciousness does not need to be public - ever.

I've heard that many celebrities pay people to use their twitter accounts....
Well I like it. Some people do, some people don't. Just like Facebook or anything else.
And yeah, there are some celebrity ones that aren't even them or anything. Somtimes random people make one with clebrities names, but it is pretty obvious.

Amen to that!
I'm on it...seems to have replaced blogging to some extent..similar to status on facebook.

the same could be said about people's personal struggles with weight. yet here we are.
I use twitter and while I like to read what other people are talking about - I don't spend large amounts of time on it. 30 seconds here, a minute here - frankly its a good way to pass the time when I'm on the bus and my iPod is dead. But I will say that it seems to be a generational thing - the same way that facebook started out. I used facebook when it was in it's early stages (wayyyy back in '01), and I'm sure that eventually Twitter won't seem so pointless once people really start to use it.
To the OP: my twitter is the same as my CC username - feel free to add me!
No. Most of my blogging involves posting artwork, performance footage, flyers for shows, etc. Since Twitter won't let you do those things, and I don't feel a need to record my every random thought, I don't know what I'd do with it.

i don't think it's "a generational thing" as much as it's an emotional maturity thing. same goes for facebook status. there's something narcissistic about believing that other people need to know what one is doing/thinking/feeling every minute of the day.
i can see the entertainment value in reading other people's tweets (don't see myself doing it, but can see it), but don't see any value in the other side.
Yeah, I have it, but my doctor says the meds will make it go away.

So I'm emotionally immature because I use twitter? Why is sharing my thoughts with other people narcissistic? There are some times when something is funny to me or I have a particularly thoughtful question, but no one I know is around to discuss it with. Twitter allows me to connect with those people and if they choose to respond - great. If not, fine. The day goes on.
Perhaps it's more constructive to just say - "No I don't use it" instead of "It's about emotional maturity".
I honestly don't get twitter...
You just constantly tell people what you're doing? So...it's like a page of just status updates?
It doesn't sound like something I would be interested in having, but I'm genuinely curious. I've been hearing a lot about it lately.

probably about as productive as saying, "It's a generational thing."
I don't know about being emotionally mature, but I'm 50-something and I use Twitter. I find it fascinating. Not so much "tweeting" what I'm doing but reading everyone else's is entertaining.

It's not just posting about what you are doing - you can put up links to websites or pages you find interesting, a particular song you like, or even put up a picture via your computer or phone. My family lives halfway across the country from me - so I use it to let them know what's going on around me and what's going on during my day.

Don't get offended if I say it's a generational thing. I'm not calling anyone old - it's just that the millennial generation seems to be much more receptive to things like Twitter and Facebook and the such. And obviously there are people that cross the gap in both directions, it's not a blanket statement.
I equate it to...the Jonas Brothers for instance, I think they are completely for the generation after me. I don't really like their music, and don't really understand the craze about them - but I'm not going to say that the people who listen to them are wasting their time. To each his own.
I use Twitter to keep abreast of a sport that I follow that doesn't get any main stream media. But I don't tweet.
So Tom what did lance have for breakfast this morning?
