Here I am in Harrow, its in Greater London UK. The weather today is much warmer although we have had the coldest weather for the last few days. At one point it was 7 degrees!
I have been on the Scarsdale Diet for about two months or so. Its two weeks on/two weeks off and I have managed to lose about 9.5 kilos. My weight is gradually diminishing despite the fact that I am not strict with the diet, there has to be some fun in living after all.
The diet has taught me to eat more healthily. I now watch the portion sizes, also try to avoid all the stodge. Bread intake is down to one-two slices a day, lots of fruit. I have never been a great water drinker but do try to take in some throughout the day. My work is very sedentary, sitting at a desk all day so not many calories used up there.Swim when I can, walk sometimes too.
I love this site, lots of useful advice and help when I need it.
I have a lot of weight to lose, started at 117 kilos, goal weight 75 kilos...sigh, one day I will get there!

Hi Sandy
I'm in London too, thankfully it's stopped raining for a few hours!!
What's the Scarsdale diet about? I'm just calorie counting and excercising (and living on this site) - it's working fine for me!

Hi King
I have been told be a workmate that this diet is tooo harsh for her to do. Perhaps u will think so too, but it works for me.
U start with two weeks of
Breakfast is 1/2 pink grapefruit-1 slice wholemeal bread
lunch-chicken/beef/turkey (protein) with vegetables (any) or salad
evening meal fish, any kind, with more vegetables - no potatoes/pasta/flour/sugar etc allowed in the first two weeks.
You can then alternate the lunches with the evening meal throughout the week, cheese is also allowed, as long as the proportions are equal.
After two weeks you can introduce eggs, wine some potatoes etc for a further two weeks, then back to the first two week plan. Continue like this until u have lost the weight you need to.
There is a whole website which will give you the weeks menus, easy to find.
I must admit that there are times when I find myself munching a choccy, or some ice cream-but its just a taste now & again nothing like the huge amounts I used to eat.
Good luck

Bournemouth here.
I'm doing slimming world also and it has helped break the plateau which is good. I'm finding the last 6lbs is being a right bitch about coming off so have eased up lately and am changing my program at the gym to see what happens.

Hi All, glad to see there are more Brits on here too. Weather is nice for a change, at last some sun!
How are you all doing on your diets? How about posting some weights, heights etc. As today is Monday lets see how we all do this week.
As for myself, I am at a plateau right now but not gaining any. So weight is 108.3kilos for 5ft 7in height.
Determined to get to 100 kilos by the next four weeks.
An American company is opening up here, its called Wholefoods and I hear its a big thing in the USA. Perhaps our American friends can tell us more about it?They will have some tough competition with Tesco and the like so will need to keep on their toes.
I forgot to bring me lunch with me today, its the tuna then!

OK I'm 5ft 6 living in London (originally from Bolton - I feel for you Minbin!!) have got so used to reporting weight in pounds (not stones) that I prefer it now.
Starting weight was 216lbs, currently at 189 (or at least I hope I am, I've not weighed today after a fun weekend).
Pork pies ARE rank, but pasties are good!

I live in Brighton. Hi everyone! I'm not properly dieting but I'm counting calories to discourage me from eating entire family packs of M&Ms at once. By eating a bit less and exercising a bit more than usual, I'm hoping to lose a few pounds before my holiday in 6 weeks. I weigh 146lb and I'm 18 and 5 foot 5.
Sandyuk - the Scarsdale Diet does sound harsh, at least at first. Well done!
