Anyone Up for a Jillian Michaels' "30 Day Shred" Challenge?
I've got the dvd, have done level 1 some before, just not consistantly. If anyone is interested in starting the 30 Day Shred, join in. I think Monday would be a great day to start. I'll post what else I'm doing apart from the 30 Day Shred as well. I'll go ahead and post my current stats. I'll add measurements this weekend. And if anyone wants to join, please do so. If not, I'll keep this posted so people can see the results.
CW - 140 lbs
GW - 136 lbs (by March 20th)
22 Years Old, 5'6"
As far as goals from this DVD, just want to see what it will do as far as strength and toning. Like I said, I plan to keep to my workouts at the YMCA while I'm doing this so I can blast the last bit of fat I have.
4/30 done! I also did a 3 mile walk (49 minutes).
I really don't look forward to doing the 30 DS work out. Really. I have to push myself to do it each time.... the fact that it's only 20 minutes makes it easier to face it. I am so relieved when it's over.
I know though that to get the definition I'd like, I HAVE to push myself, it's not just going to magically happen. Something along the lines of "no pain, no gain!" LOL.
Good thing today: When I glanced down at my arms today I noticed there is some definition starting to happen there! I don't think that's all the 30 DS though, I think that's the result of being back on the wagon since January! Yay for definition!!! ![]()
Well I am on 5/30, level 1, 1.5kg per hand! BUT...last couple of days I havent done it I have been soooo busy at work, and its quite an active job, so I havent worried! Its good to have others helping me keep motivated. O and I did that phord thing as well and that what said i should be at 1270!
Ok, I have just finished day 6. I did level one everyday and level two three days.
CW 213 down from 220
GW 160
Hips 46 down from 48
Waist 43 same
Bust 40 1/2 same
So far so good!! I am going to take tomorrow off and start with level two on Monday and try level three.

I did day 5 of level 1 this morning and can tell I'm getting stonger because it is easier (just like she said it would be!). After a little bit of a plateau and losing only .5 lb or so a week, last week I dropped 2.2 pounds! This reminds me of a year ago when I dropped 2 lbs a week consistently.
SW: 202.6
CW: 200.4 (I can taste, see, and smell the 100's, baby!)
GW (at the end of the 30 ds - really my six week timeline): 190-195

Oops, busy weekend and I ended up taking Saturday AND Sunday off. ![]()
Just finished 5/30. Weigh in was on Sunday and I'm down 1.5 lbs this week, yay!
Congrats to those who are losing pounds and inches, as well as those who are sticking to the program.. it's a tough workout! Good job everyone!
So I spent a week with my family and completely pigged out. went from 124 to 126, but it's mostly water weight. Today I started up again with Jillian Michaels. I have improved immensely in my endurance and strength. With the push ups I am doing half modified version and half "girlie" version. So definately improvement. I'll have to be better about making good food choices this week!

Well I moved onto the lever 2 yesterday, nice to make a change, but dont really find it any more demanding on the whole, although some of the new moves have me REALLY sweating!
I am doing 9 of 30 this evening!

6/30 done plus biggest loser cardio max ... great work out! I took a few days off and my bum was killing me! hope it burns tomorrow too :) if it's burning it means it's working right?!?

7/30 done! Still at Level 1... will move up to Level 2 on day 11 of 30DS.

Well I did yesterday after taking about 3 days off of working out and my arms and I can't believe it my upper abs are burning this time! and when I do the work outs back to back, I dont' have a burn... so I guess it's betteer to take a day off to let me my body reshape itself???? right??? anythoughts to this guys??

My personal trainer as wel las several other people, have always said your body is meant to have 2rest days" to re-coop and "mend" itself etc. Apparently if you do too much your body wont heal and you can get serious problems in the long run.
Have been SUPER busy lately, but I just finished my day 6/30. I started level 2 yesterday, which was a great change, and while I feel like I'm going to die at first, I feel so good afterward (exhausted in a good way), and I still feel like I am going to make my goal. I have lost 6 pounds in the past 5 weeks. I'm super excited! Keep going everyone!

In Jillian's book she seems to recommend two rest days a week. I think rest days are pretty important, especially when you're building muscle.

I am taking the weekend off! Level 2 was really hard for me. I don't think that I got the workout I got from Level 1 because I couldn't do some of the moves and was a slacker! I will try harder on Monday!

I took the weekend off from 30DS as well, back to it on Monday though!
I am on day 7 of level 2. It whips my butt, and I could probably go ahead and check out level 3 but I have to say I love Level 2 so much I don't want to! I knew the Shred would be good, challenging I expected, but there are a lot of new creative excersizes I have never tried before. I am probably 14/30 and I can't say I have lost a lot of weight, but my clothes fit better, my core feels stronger and my roommates say my booty is lookin great!
What level is your favorite? Anyone on Level 3? How does it compare to 2?
