Anyone Up for a Jillian Michaels' "30 Day Shred" Challenge?
I've got the dvd, have done level 1 some before, just not consistantly. If anyone is interested in starting the 30 Day Shred, join in. I think Monday would be a great day to start. I'll post what else I'm doing apart from the 30 Day Shred as well. I'll go ahead and post my current stats. I'll add measurements this weekend. And if anyone wants to join, please do so. If not, I'll keep this posted so people can see the results.
CW - 140 lbs
GW - 136 lbs (by March 20th)
22 Years Old, 5'6"
As far as goals from this DVD, just want to see what it will do as far as strength and toning. Like I said, I plan to keep to my workouts at the YMCA while I'm doing this so I can blast the last bit of fat I have.
Original Post by colorado_sunshine:gabita - don't forget to give yourself at least one rest day a week so your muscles can recover :) It *does* get easier, but some days I find pretty easy and other days it's just HARD to get through the workout!
Yeah, I'd say I'll need it, lol. I spent all day complaining about having to get up or sit back down! I still managed to do level 1 again today, so I'm thinking of taking a rest day on Sunday. :) I am pretty motivated so that's good.
9/30 Level 2 done! Yay!
Yes thanks Colorado it is longer than 20min and I too hope that I see some results by the 20th, if I keep at it everyday, I have to take breaks because I get soo sore with her work outs, but I also do cardio to add to it... the walking push ups are harder on the biggest loser cardio max, she makes you jump after you get up! I like level 3 dumbell rows while in planks, those kick my ass! I'm switching around from level 1,2,3. I'm gonna start weighing myself tomorrow after TOM.
What are the results people are seeing? definition? abs, arms, back, legs, bum?
xo..Soraya
16/30 done! Level 2. I took Saturday as a rest day, but I really need to up my exercise if I'm going to meet my 1250 minutes of exercise challenge for March.
Soraya - I have noticed definition on my arms. I know my thighs are smaller... I'll find out about the rest on the 20th. I'm trying to keep myself away from the measuring tape! LOL.
17/30 done! Level 2.
18/30 done! Level 2. Two more workouts at level 2 and then on to level 3!
I've been using this for about a month and it really works up a sweat. More than any other exercise tapes I've done.

That's great Tobyholic, what results have you seen?
Ok just finished 15/30. I had sick kids for a couple of days of I haven't been doing it everyday, but hopefully I can now get back into it.
I weighed myself this morning and down from 213 to 204
.
wow guys. This sounds like a great idea. I love Julian Micheal's, she is a great motivator. I don't have 30 day shred, but I will get it. I do have 2 other videos of hers and they are great.
I am going to get inspired from you guys and I will let you know how it goes. Any advise for me starting the 30 day shred? Thx
Good Luck!!
19/30 done! Level 2. My knee hurt today so I couldn't do the fully intense moves, but did the best I could.
wan2bhealthy - I did 10 days at each level and took at least one rest day a week. Each level is quite different and targets your body in a different way, so I felt it best to give my body the advantage of 10 days at each level. I'm sure you'll enjoy the workouts
.
carrieab1 - wow, good job!!!
I will post results tomorrow. I know my weight is going to be up, because I'm a week away from dear old aunt flo and my weight has climbed steadily all this past week, even though I've had a pretty good deficit. I should be pretty good in the measurements department though.
Darn! I was sick the last week so I haven't started. I didn't really loose any weight this week either and that was really disappointing.
Feeling better now so I'm starting today!!! I'll post again next week.
carrieab1 - congrats! I hope I see results like yours. ![]()
Okay, here are my results after 32 days and 19 workouts with 30 Day Shred. Also, I have counted calories carefully and done other workouts as well, not just 30DS.
Measurements not bold are from February 16th, measurements in bold are from today.
Height: 5'1" 5'1" (Shucks, stayed the same! hehe.)
Weight: 126 122.5
Hips: 38 37 3/4
Waist: 26.5 26
Bust: 35 34
Under Bust: 31.5 30
Thighs: 23 (L) 24 (R) 22.5 (L) 23.5 (R)
Arms: 12 (L) 12 (R) 12 (L) 12 (R)
I actually haven't done too badly, even weight wise. I did get down to 122 back on March 7th. Since then I have bounced up and down, all the way back up to 124.5, but today I'm back down to 122.5.
If you look back at my first measurement post, I was hoping I would not lose any inches in the bust.. ha! Oh well. Since I lost 1.5 inches on my under bust measurement I'm going to assume what I lost was mostly back fat and not boobs. LOL! I would have preferred to have a bigger loss in my thighs and hips, but I know I can't choose where the inches come off.
Today is my last workout on Level 2, I'm kind of nervous about that Level 3, I've watched it and it looks pretty intense!
Congrats on the losses! :P I'm so glad to see your results. I have done 8 workouts so far, so I'll be starting the second one either Monday or Tuesday, depending on if I take a day off or not. I'm pretty nervous about the second level, lol!
My dumb mistake was not measure myself before starting, so I can't really track my progress. But I do feel better, so I'll just keep going!
I haven't posted much on this thread, but I have been committed to the Shred. And those of you still on the fence about it, its less than $10 and something you can do in your living room! I love the results, and my body continues to change.
I do the Shred 3 times a week. I am about 22/30, and Day 3 of Level 3. I also walk a few days a week. I watch my cals, and eat 6 meals a day.
With that said, I've lost 12 lbs and I feel great. I am really interested to see what my loss was in inches.. I am still searching for the paper I wrote it down on. I am 4 lbs from goal :)
10/30 level 2
Congrats to all who are seeing results! I didn't have the burn the next day so gonna change it up again... Mlilly I agree, I purchased mine for about 14 Dollars and I figure if I even get to 14 workouts, that's a 1$ a work out! worth it! :)
Today I did Level 2 for the second time... I took a rest day in between. This one is a killer and I find myself doing some Anita moves! :( I'm weaaak, lol. Today I felt like someone had punched me in the ribs, and that was after a rest day. :P I'll keep going as best I can, but I doubt I will get used to this in just 10 days, lol.
Hi everyone ! I started the 30 day shred today and i need your help. I cant do push ups because i injured my knee ( fell and hurt my knee cap or something), so i can't put weight on them, and normal push ups are a no no.
What would you replace the pushups with during Level 1 ?
( ps. did everyone buy the dvd?! cuz the video is available on youtube ! ye ye !)
PVillani you could always try wall push ups "Instead of lying down or kneeling you will be standing, with your hands on a wall. Your feet should be about a foot (30.48 cm) or more from the wall, so that you are leaning forward onto the wall. Use the hands to push the body away from the wall, hold the position, and slowly lower yourself back toward the wall. Don’t crash your head into the wall, but keep the body completely off the wall as you are dipping forward. Hold the position and then proceed with the next push away movement. Try for 10 repetitions, take a break and do 10 more. This is a great way to gradually build strength for floor push ups, or may be the only type of push up you can do if you have lower back problems."http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-the-best-way- to-do-push-ups.htm
I use 5lb weights for both pushups & abs on the Shred for better resistance. I love Jillian, I am on day 8/30 and have seen great results in my arms & butt. I should've taken measurements before I started. I am working on getting to my goal by mid-May!
Hopefully this helps :D
OK,
I want to join the group. I bought the DVD last week and started Day 1 Level 1 today. Let's see what happens.
