Anyone Up for a Jillian Michaels' "30 Day Shred" Challenge?
I've got the dvd, have done level 1 some before, just not consistantly. If anyone is interested in starting the 30 Day Shred, join in. I think Monday would be a great day to start. I'll post what else I'm doing apart from the 30 Day Shred as well. I'll go ahead and post my current stats. I'll add measurements this weekend. And if anyone wants to join, please do so. If not, I'll keep this posted so people can see the results.
CW - 140 lbs
GW - 136 lbs (by March 20th)
22 Years Old, 5'6"
As far as goals from this DVD, just want to see what it will do as far as strength and toning. Like I said, I plan to keep to my workouts at the YMCA while I'm doing this so I can blast the last bit of fat I have.
Happy Friday! ![]()
Procrastination is my biggest enemy!
I was going to start last week but didn't. I finally made myself do it last night and OMG! I didn't realize how out of shape I am. My husband was having a hard time too. Think we're going to have to do level 1 for a couple of weeks. LOL
SW: 229 (already lost 24 lbs since Jan w/CC!)
GW: 175
32 yrs old, 5'8"
Couldn't find the measuring tape last night but I'm going to look again or buy one this weekend.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
11/30 Level 3
I am not giving up on this... still moving forward until I get to 30/30! anybody there yet? anyone who has, hope there are some results and to all who see results wohoo!!! she is still my fave! Jillian does kick your butt! In the month of April I hope to really get to 30 workouts ![]()
i'm on day 33. i've been using on demand, so i've been rotating level 1, no more trouble zones, level 2, and boost metabolism.
i feel firmer, stronger and my rear and chest seem perkier. i've got a small 2 pack going on for the first time in my life.
i lost an inch in my waist and kept my other measurements the same while gaining at least 5 pounds, so i'm beyond happy. i am one of those weakling, underweight "skinny fat" types and this was the only routine i have been able to stick to and get noticible results.
13/30
I"m not giving up on this DVD yet, I take breaks and Kickbox and Run... I use the DVD as my form of Circuit Training since I dont' belong to a gym.
Cerealaddiction, my 2 pack is coming back! I can see it when I'm doing jumping jacks and hoping to see more definition!
Colorado - how is it going????
26/30 here... I'm on the hard level, but I don't want to stress my already sore knees so I'm doing Anita moves for less impact. I have to say, I do see more definition on my arms, and perhaps maybe a bit on my legs... But I was really hoping I'd look much better? :( I feel like I look the same way... Maybe it's all in my head. O.o
I'm thinking of starting the 6 week program with Biggest Loser Cardio Max and Power Sculpt... Have any of you done those?
Gabita I have both of those! and they were great for me, I still do Jillians Cardio Max when I NEED to up my cardio! she's a killer in that! it's both worth it, Bob's Power sculpt segment is also one of my faves! have fun with them! they are great!

Sweet! Thanks!! :D I am now looking forward to it. I'm going to Europe to see my honey in August and I'm trying to look slamming by then, lol. I suppose I can do the 6 weeks and then try the Shred, again... So, that I don't get stuck with just one routine. Hmm.. We'll see. :D
i'm on day 53 on doing jillian's circuit training. my body seems pretty much the same as when i was on day 33. certain things are getting noticeably easier (like bicycle crunches and 180s) while other things still kill me and i feel like i still can't do them (push ups, standing mountain climbers).
i have good and bad days. like today i was cursing like a sailor through NMTZ while other days it seems easy breezy.
how's everyone else's progress? anyone else finished and managed to find something else to upgrade to that they like just as much?
Cerealaddiction - although I am still on my 30Day Shred, I do take breaks from it, I have started Kick Boxing! and it's kinda of addictive. And if you find yourself "cursing like a sailor" it may help ease some of that anxiousness! it helps me with my anger management, I have a bad temper and since I started my temper has cooled tremendously! plus I can feel my upper body get stronger. I do Amy Bento's In the Ring...it's killer work out! but I would recommend it to anybody looking for some other High Intensity work out along with 30Day... good luck!
Gabita - I did the opposite in rotation! I did the Power Sculpt / Cardio Max! then went on to 30Day! :) I'm tryiing to look slamming too, hopefully we both will be by July!!! ;0)
Howdy!
I'd love to join in!
I just did day 1 of the 30-Day Shred...level 1.
Not bad...a bit sore, but not bad. It did have me huffing and puffing--I think I paused to catch my breath more than a few times. I loved how quickly it went! Wow! It was over before I knew it...probably because Jillian doesn't want to be guilty of murder! hahahaha
I did order lighter weights after the workout--I used a pair of 8 pounders--waaaaaaaaay to heavy. I ordered a pair of 5 pounders from Amazon. That might be more reasonable.
I think the workout will be a good addition to my daily 3 mile run (I just started running/walking on June 1--I'm up to 3 miles 6 days a week.

Hi! I just did level 1 for the first time today, only took me 7 months after buying the dvd. I was wondering how long did it take for you ladies to move upto level 2? I was planning on doing level 1 for a week and then moving up to level 2. Also, are all 3 levels meant to be done together when you reach 'optimal' fitness?
I have done four days so far cant wait until day 30 hoping to have lost atleast 5 pounds
I have been doing this for about a month I have stayed at Level 1. However, I know I am working much harder than I did at the beginning - no modifications, etc.
My husband and daughter started same time as me and they are up to level 3. My husband has seen a big difference in his body.
Anyone know approx how many calories Level 1 burns. I'm 59 years old and weigh around 147.
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
