Anyone up for a new 10-15 lb group?
I see the 15-20lb group is closed and I think it is time for another!
I've been lurking around on here since march and have lost about 5lbs while trying half-heartedly. Now, I'm ready to finish what I started. I know what works for me, I need to exercise!! And I need motivation...that's what I am reaching out for.
Who wants to join me?
I need to work on my profile, but here are some quick stats to get this going...
Age: 25
Height: 5' 9"
Current weight: 164
Goal weight: 150 by Aug 30th
Mini goal: 160 by July 19th
I love cooking, baking, going out to new restaurants, and I hate fake food!!
Hey lauren!
I would be interested in joining another group. I too need the motivation to work out. I also only lost 5 pounds since April or March I believe...

I am totally!
Age: 21
Height: 5'0
Weight: 114.2 lbs
Goal: 100-105 lbs
I've been 114 for a month, maybe more. I'm switching up my diet to be more low carb, thinking maybe that might help.. I carry a lot of fat on my stomach, which is really the only area of my body I'm unhappy with. And I definitely need motivation to exercise as well! That's what I've been missing lately.
Oh yay! I'm stuck in the mid 150s.
Goal is to lose my tire and back fat!

I love food, hate diets and counting calories, but I was 157 in the winter and lost close to 15lbs, so it pays off...as you go, the weight loss is a mega inspiration to keep pushing yourself! :)
This sounds fantastic! Ever since I started I have stayed in limbo around my normal weight. It is really frustrating me! I need to loose my tire too, if nothing else!
Age 24
Height 5'1"
Current weight 140

I really need to get my butt into gear and learn to say no!

Age : 19
Height: 5'0.5
Current Weight: 113
Goal weight: 100-105
I don't really have a mini-goal. I started CC at 120 lbs in May and have made it this far, so I hope to keep losing and get to my ultimate goal!
Age : 19
Height: 5'2.5
Current Weight: 130-132 (Dunno)
Goal weight: Between 105-115.... Hell, I'll be fine with 120 to be honest.
Yay!! It seems like we have a good little group forming here!
I know my mini-goal is coming up fast, but I have a wedding to go to and it'd be great to reach it by then! 4lbs in 12 days is just shy of possible using the suggested 2lb max a week loss (provided by cc).
Congrats on the wedding planning Jfourth!! I got married on Jan 9th (almost 6 months!!) and all the planning & crazyness was totally worth it!
I should elaborate on my "hate fake food" comment...I quit aspartame last summer. I used to buy it in big boxes at bj's and put it in everything, yogurt, coffee and other drinks, and it was in some of the food I bought. Switching from drinking my coffees with 3 equal to no sweetener was quite a shock to my taste buds at first!! I also missed my yoplait light at first, but I survived! I also try and avoid overly processed stuff like high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils.
I'm off to do 45m on the elliptical, I couldn't get out of bed this morning to do it. Does anyone have any tips for getting out of bed in the am? I've been sleeping through my alarm something fierce...
I'm going to do Friday AM weigh-ins...Friday just seems like the right day for me, plus maybe when I see a good number it will help me "behave" over the weekend!!!
Oooo! Oooo! *Raises hand and waggles it around*
Been living atop a plateau for over a month now. I'm very ready to see the scale move again. Maybe this group will help me get on the ball.
Age: 25
Height: 6'
Current Weight: 170
Goal Weight: 155-160
I now will start some chit-chat...
What is motivating you to lose weight? For me it's this American Flag bathing suit I want to wear. It's weird but I told myself I would not wear it until I feel the time was right.
my big motivation to lose weight is seeing photos of myself. No matter how skinny I feel, when I see how I actually look in photos it makes me want to give up food altogether, and then i go the opposite and make myself feel better by eating chocolate (how does my brain work??).
But yes, those bathing suits do show it all!
I'm game!
Age: 25
Height: 5' 6"
Current Weight: 151.0
Goal Weight: 140 by September 30th
Mini Goal: 145 by Labor Day Weekend (Bachelorette Beach Weekend with friends!)
I just feel better when I weigh less, eat well, and exercise. I was 160 at my highest weight and just felt like a huge, jiggly, blob. I was just unwell. I decided that I could NOT allow myself to continue to gain weight and I've been conscious of it ever since. I haven't seen the 140's in quite a few years, though, so I'm a little apprehensive about whether or not I'll be able to get there without too much of a struggle.
I'm in!
Age: 26

Mini Goal: 140 by mid August
I'm doing ok on exercise but need to get my calories back on track!
My weigh in day is Sat morning...alteast Ill behave on friday heehee!
my motivation is 1) my sisters wedding in sept and 2) everything seemed to be getting tighter on my chub! UGH!
laurenml~ I would love to work outin the morning but like you I hit the snooze until I know I have to get up for work to get ready. I wish I had the self will to do it and get it done for the day. If you figure it out please share!![]()
Off to work! Have a great day!
I'm in!!! Lauren, you and I are pretty much twins!!!
I am 24, 5'9'' and weighed in at 163.4 this morning. I would LOVE to get down to around 150.
oh, and I got married about 2 years ago :)
I have no advise on getting up early to workout. I have to be at work by 7, and there is no way I can get myself out of bed earlier than I have to, haha!!
I'm in =)
I'm 24, my starting weight was 137, I'm now down to 126-127, goal weight is 115 (I'm only 5'1.5'') by the end of september....
Reasons why I'm trying to do this finally are:
- I really don't date unless I like my body, and it's been way too long...I'm ready to get back out there!
- I have my White Coat Ceremony in the beginning of october (I'm in dental school) and I want to look good when I walk across that stage!
laurenml: I force myself out of bed by setting two alarms on my cell phone 5mins apart...you could even set three like that. I am definitely not a morning exerciser though.
nece: I used to carry a lot of my fat on my stomach too, until I started doing three things: obliques with a 10lb weight, lots of leg lifts (leave your tennis shoes on for extra weight) and oblique rotating crunches (like this: http://www.bodyresults.com/_iexer/oblique-rot ation.JPG)..they somehow changed my body and now even when I gain weight my stomach stays fairly flat. You should give it a try.
Typical Routine would be (I don't recommend starting this strong if you don't already do a lot of ab work)
50 obliques w/ weight on each side
3 sets of 20 leg lifts (60 total)
Two sets of 50 oblique crunches (You can make these harder my holding a weight in your hands too)
Looking forward to learning more about everyone --
M
I got up early this morning!!
The firealarm in my building went off at 6:45am...funny story here though: Last night I was making homemade mini pizzas on my pizza stones and the combo of cornmeal and baking stone in a 500 degree oven got the smoke detector working, so, the hubby opens the door and tries to reset the smoke detector by taking out the battery...apparently he put it back in backwards (they are wired anyway) and I think that made the smoke detectors go off again at 12:30am and then at 6:45am this morning!
It is so embarassing!! I'm wondering if people can tell that it's my apartment that made the alarms in our building go off. I looked outside both times and no one went outside (hmm..), but somehow the alarm got turned off in 10-60 seconds all THREE times! I've only lived here a few months!
Anyway...I did another 45 minutes on the elliptical this morning, then I did some stretches and 15 pushups and some crunches. I need to come up with an actual strength routine, but I figure this is better than nothing.
What is motivating me is that I just realized that I am 25!! I graduated college in January of 2007, I cannot believe it's been 2.5 years already. Seriously, where does the time go. These are the best days of my life and if I am not in shape now, then when?
My family has many overweight women with joint problems. It's crazy, it's only the women, so I am fighting my genes here!! I have had some arthritis since I was 17, but exercise always helps me. I was up to 168 for awhile and I know my knees bothered me so much more then. It's funny what a difference a few lbs makes...I get so excited when I lose a few, that is real motivation to keep going.
hotfuss my twin, maybe we can "shrink" together!!
