Has anyone ever used a Waterpik for their teeth??
It is a machine that is much more effective than flossing and gets to places that floss does not. I am thinking of buying one...any suggestions?? ideas??

My parents had one years ago. My mom used it a couple times but she says it was a pain and a half -- everything got wet, cold water gave her a headache, the tube kinked and pulled out . . . and it was very noisy.
Now they use the little hand held picks (they look kind of like cocktail spears but there's a part with floss pulled tight that you just sweep between your teeth. Also disposable.)

My son has braces and the waterpik is a necessity! We got one for my daughter too, even though she doesn't have braces. My dentist confirmed that is is better than a standard toothbrush, especially for children. (My twins are almost 8 years old.) I don't use the waterpik because I have a Sonicare which I really like. It is easier than my kids' waterpik and smaller and less messy.
I have a waterpik, it's sitting in the cupboard collecting dust.
It is way better than flossing but, such a hassle to set it up, use it, clean it and put it away.

I used to have one; always liked it and rather enjoyed using it. I didn't have any problems with it being messy and you can use warm water if you want.
I had one the first time I got braces... Hardly ever used it b/c I had a bad habit of getting everything friggin wet...
I like my Oral B Vitality spinning toothbrush... I paid around $30 and it's just as good as the professional spinbrushes...

I used to have one, I messed up one night after eating popcorn and accidentaly angled the pik the wrong way. I ended up pushing a popcorn husk up under my gums instead of flushing it out. Big infection, bigger dental bill and I threw it out the next day. But before I messed up I loved it.
I've heard that nothing beats traditional flossing unfortunately. I hate flossing and I wish there were something easier out there.
