Anyone in Vegas? Los Angeles area?
I just moved from NorCal, now live in 2 cities: Vegas and LA (Baldwin Park area).
Is there anyone in this group who live in LV or LA? Interested in group exercises or exchanging ideas, or hang out? or make new friends? (One of my best fitness buddy actually from CC. Too bad we don't live in the same city)

hi Kat
Im new to the group I live las vegas area. I'm just getting started. Doing cardio 2/week one hour in the gym and being more active at home..hoping to bump it up with weights soon. ![]()
Hi there, I live in Las Vegas area as well. At this time I am trying to keep my goal of 15 miles per week of walking. I am only on week 2. Any tips on exercise, food or just getting together sounds great. Currently I work from home.

All right Vegas!! :D
I'm doing home workouts using Beachbody programs (Turbo Jam, Insanity, P90X, Hip Hop Abs) as well as Hip Hop Hustle by Powder Blue. When I go to the gym I go for a swim or group exercise.
@lvchica - Turbo Jam includes Turbo Sculpt - which is a great weight training exercise. I love it and prefer it to pumping iron at the gym. Plus the music is great! Let me know or message me if you want to try it.
@mrlgrrl - I'm working from home too!
So, what are your fitness goals? Weight loss? Toning? Healthy lifestyle? ... ...?
I'm in Vegas until this Sunday. Who's up for coffee/tea? :)
@sweet_tart: I am extremely out of shape and just trying to make little changes for the next 6 weeks. I walk every day from 2 - 6miles depending on the day. My goal is to walk the Las Vegas 1/2 Marathon on Dec 6th. At this time I can walk a 18 minute mile. At first my goal was weight loss but I am enjoying the increase in energy. Some of the other changes I have been making are simple one: drinking more water, less caffeine, less adult beverages, eating more veggies/fruits, writing everything down I eat, getting more sleep. After the walking and other changes, I am not sure what to do next. There is so much information out in books, mags and the internet.
Coffee/Tea sounds good to me Thursday or Friday.
Hi, sorry so late to respond. Busy weekend.
I also work from home. I have bankers hours mon -fri and off on sat and sundays. I'm starting up weights this week in addition to my cardio. I attend the LVAC on sandhill/flamingo location. I'm open to the 215/eastern area they have a women's area. I'm hoping to find someone who might want to do some tennis on the weekends. If anyone interested please let me know.
i've never heard of turbo jam/turbo sculpt I'd love too hear more about it i'm only a beginner i'm open to the idea, what gym do you attend? I've got 80pounds total i want to loose i'm taking it 10pounds at at time so far soo good. ..i'm happy with the results so far. I do one hour of cardio on the treadmill and have started eating small meals every two hours.. i'm really surprised i'm able to do this, it seem like i'm eating all the time but and it feels great because i'm never hungy its gives me fuel for the whole day i feel a great difference in my metabolism... I now need to start up weight. Will begin this tomorrow 11-03-09 I"m available beginning 5pm
I'm open for cup of coffee/tea sounds fun, hit me up

Hey Rosa (I love your username btw)!
Let's get together when I'm back in Vegas! :) I'm in LA now (geez... I sound like a jetset, only without the jet
)
Unfortunately, I hung my tennis rackets a loooong time ago. I was just not coordinated that way :) I am member with LA Fitness (which doesn't have any branch in LV), but I like to do my own exercise at home using DVD home workout PROGRAM like INSANITY, TURBO JAM, HIP HOP HUSTLE, etc. I go to the gym for swimming and join the group exercise.
Click here to preview what Turbo Jam is about. My boyfriend, who is a weight lifting type of guy, almost cried doing the Turbo Sculpt! You see, it's not about how heavy you lift, it is how you use the muscles.
Personally, I love it! I've been using it for 4 years, and I'm going to get the instructor certification for Turbo Kickboxing this weekend!
Congrats on the losing! And isn't that feel great? I mean, this better way of eating? You don't feel deprived at all because you constantly eating (better food preferably). I love cheese, and now I can eat them practically every day!
At one point I needed to loose 20 lbs. Check out my before/after pics here. And I know it's not easy. Actually took me years of trial and error, because I didn't know any better and no guidance whatsoever.
Well, let's save our story exchange for when we meet, shall we?
I would love to do workout with you, especially weight training. Even better, mrlgrrl could join us and we all do Turbo Sculpt!
Have you tried using resistance bands before? You gotta try. It's convenient and it works wonders. Guys don't use it because they think it's not manly enough LMAO!
I will message you my phone number & email. I will be back in Vegas on Nov. 17. Until then, keep me posted! :)
Cheers!
Kat.
