Anyone want to join me and lose 6 lbs by Feb 29?

Quote  |  Reply
Anyone want to join me? I thought it would be a good idea to set a small goal for myself so I can stay on track for my overall goal and try and lose 6 lbs by the end of Feb. Currently I weigh 175.8 and if I lose 6 lbs by the end of Feb that would put me in the 160's!!!! I haven't been there in a LONG time. I thought we would start tomorrow with the first weigh in and then post our weights every Monday, then our final weight Feb 29 which is a Friday. Also put your height, current weight and starting weight.

I'm in! I've stalled at my current weight for the last 2 months and I need to get back on track...although I have been doing very good these past 2 weeks and have yet to see a change on the scale, so that has me a little worried. :/

Hopefully I'll start seeing some changes soon!

I just decided today that I'm going to lose some weight, so I joined this website. I have a 1 1/2 year old and haven't lost any of the weight. In fact, I have gained some more in the past two months since I didn't have a job and sat around most of the time. I need help staying motivated. I think that making a small goal like 6 lbs in a month is a lot easier to think about than 50 to 60 lbs. What are you all doing to lose the weight? I have done weight watchers in the past and it's the only diet I know. I'm terrible at getting motivated to excersize. Help me out please!

Age: 27

Height: 5' 5"

Goal Weight: 135

My start wasn't too wonderful. I stayed up too late Sunday night working on some unfinished class sketches. So I went to bed late. I came home after school and crashed on my couch for about 3 hours, totally missing regular workout time. >.<

But it's ok. I had a good dinner and went to the gym afterwards. However, because the food was still digesting in my stomach, I could only manage to walk for an hour. At least I burned off about +/-250 calories. =]

Tomorrow's a fresh new day. So close to breaking through the 140's. Hopefully I'll be there by the end of the week.

I hope everyone is coming along well. =]

5.10 183 lb.    goal 160. count me in.  Unable to excercise this month due to surgery, but am motivated .

6 lbs is exactly what I would like to lose. But I see that all the people here seem to lose so much faster than I! Each time I log, my 'calorie counter' moves one or two days further the date of my targeted weight!

My problem is that I am hypothyroid: slooow metabolism. I am medicated, but still, it's not easy. I never really had big weight problems (I never exceeded my BMI, and usually would tend to the lowest numbers of it). I actually realize now that I was hypothyroid for a long while without knowing it, so I was used to gaining weight easily. Because of that, I have always cared a lot of the quality and quantity of my meals, and would do exercise regularly. I never starved myself either, just would eat healthy.

When I first started taking the medication it was great: I lost weight and felt that my body responded more accurately to my eating more or less, exercising more or less. But the adjustment of the medication takes a while. So at some point I started to gain weight ridiculously--12 lbs in six weeks, while I was definitely not consuming more calories than before, and in fact trying hard to lose what I was gaining. I was eating around 1200 calories and exercising as usual.

Around 6 weeks ago, my doctor gave me a higher medication and my body started to respond better to my calorie-restriction and my exercising habits. I lost around 6 lbs, but still have other 6 to go. So you see, I don't lose more than 1 pound  week, and sometimes less. It'd be thus impossible for me to lose 6 lbs by February 29th! The worst is that I gained all that weight without enjoying it, since I wasn't eating more calories than now!

But I won't give up. No matter how slowly, I will continue losing until I reach my desired 116 lbs (or transform some of the remaining fat into muscle?)

I am 5'3'', currently 122lbs. 32 y/o.

BETTER LATE THEN NEVER!!!

Count me in.

Hi everyone! Well, my first day went out not that good! I ate too much fruit Yell and at night (after dinner) ate some pastries (small pieces, but still) Anyways,  I logged everything I ate in my account here and says I ate 1200 cals, but I'm trying to figure out if I logged the right items! (i'm from Central America, and can't find the translation of lots of fruits and vegetables we eat here) and also did 1/2 of aerobics (got late to class)

Today, so far, so good, we'll see how it goes for the rest of the day!

Hugs, and good luck to everyone

I ate about 1500 calories, did cardio for 45 minutes and I went UP a pound!! DANG IT! Now I have SEVEN pounds to lose to hit the goal. =(
