Anyone want to join me and lose 6 lbs by Feb 29?

Anyone want to join me? I thought it would be a good idea to set a small goal for myself so I can stay on track for my overall goal and try and lose 6 lbs by the end of Feb. Currently I weigh 175.8 and if I lose 6 lbs by the end of Feb that would put me in the 160's!!!! I haven't been there in a LONG time. I thought we would start tomorrow with the first weigh in and then post our weights every Monday, then our final weight Feb 29 which is a Friday. Also put your height, current weight and starting weight.

So i'm doing really well on my eating... but i just can't seem to find motivation to WORKOUT! What's wrong with me? I get in these spurts where i'll workout really well for a month, and then something happens and i get off track for a month or two! Why can't i just stick with it?! I'm paying for a gym membership!
I am totally the opposite right now. I've been busting my butt at the gym for the first time in a LOOOOOONG time but I can't seem to keep on track with eating healthy. Sticking to my calorie max but I had kisses AGAIN today. They sit RIGHT ON MY DESK because my boss likes to leave them out for the mailman. UGH! anyway, what's keeping me goin at the gym is getting to eat a little more & thinking, "okay I burned 90 calories so far, that's 3 of the kisses I ate." ha ha ha

  meganmudge - maybe we should switch lives for a day! I know i just go, i'll get "addicted" again and want to! Right now i don't have a job - getting ready to start an internship, and i think it's made me lazy :( I'm hoping that once i start (prob next week) - that i'll FORCE myself to go straight from there to the gym! I have DVD's at home, but i dont even want to do those! What's wrong with me?!  I would definitely have your problem if those kisses we're sitting right in front of me as well - they'd be gone in 2 seconds! That's why i have to keep stuff like that out of my sight! lol :)

Yeah my fiance makes me go directly from work to the gym with him so that keeps me going. I get lazy too on the weekends when I am not already out of the house.

I hid the kisses behind my monitor so at least I don't have to see them now. But every once in a while I get a whiff of chocolate . . . I may just have to ask her not to buy them. Or to buy ones I don't like!

yeah, none of my friends will go workout with me - so it's all up to me to motivate myself! Like you said - it's hard getting the motivation to go out when i'm not already out... plus it's sooooo cold outside that i just wanna sit here in my sweatshirt and sweatpants!

Mmmm... chocolate... oh how i miss it! 

Hey All!!!

I hope everyone is doing good with this challenge so far!  Im one of those crazy people that insists on weighing myself 3 times a day.  I've been doing really well with my eating and I am 100% obsessed with my workout regimine.  I make sure I do 1 hour of cardio 5 days a week and 30 min of weight training 5 days a week.  It is really hard to get motivated but I find the first 4 weeks are the worst because your body is still getting used to the exercise.  Once the 4 weeks has surpassed, my body changes drastically.  I am currently in my 5th week right now.  We basically started this challenge on Sunday night and I weighed in at 166.8lbs and this morning i weighed 162.2lbs.  I am so happy about this.  I know it seems like a lot of weight in just 2 days but like i said it takes my body 4 weeks of working out to really start seeing results.  So this week I am soooo happy that my body is finally working with me and I am seeing these results. 

so here are my NEW stats.

height: 5'6

Starting weight jan.7/08: 178lbs

current weight : 162.2

goal by feb 29: 156.2lbs

overall goal:145lbs

I leave for southeast asia on march 6 and i would really love to weigh 155 by then

I just want to thank everybody for all the support and I hope everyone is working hard and being HAPPY and HEALTHY!!!

I did better today with my workout. I had lots of extra energy so I burned a few extra hundred calories. =] But I guess it equals out to the cookie I had for a snack earlier today because I forgot my usual granola bar snack. Oops. ^_^  Hope everyone else is going on strong.

Hi all! Would love to join, I have a lil wager with hubby to be in the 170's by the end of February. I'm 30, 5'4. Current weight: 184lbs. Starting weight as of Jan7th: 190lbs. My hardest hurdle is I need to cook for a family of five so it's difficult to stay on track when I'm cooking suppers, deserts etc.

I sure will!!

I am doing well so far in the challenge, but I refuse to get on the scale until 2/29. I have a problem with weighing myself too much and I am going to make this part of my personal challenge.

moeisha that's good but slow down a little. i hope you are drinking plenty of liquids. i like to get up to speed but working on a schedule right now.

i glad i am not the only person in the universe working towards a goal for a better weight. if anyone have some good ideas for safe weight loss in good timming let me know.
yeah - i finally got my lazy butt up and worked out for over an hour - YEAH ME!! Just gotta keep it up now :)

Anyone else finding themselves repeating the mantra ' muscle weighs more than fat' every morning when they get on the scale? I know I am. I swear I'm doing 'everything right'. Arrgh!!
