Does anyone want to measure their progress in Inches?

Quote  |  Reply

I'd like to start a group where we measure out progress in inches lost.

Here are some suggested measurement spots:

bicep

bust

high waist (above navel, below ribs)

waist right at the navel

hips/butt (around the widest part)

thighs

calf

Also may want to include Height and weight:

If anyone wants to add or suggest other places feel free.

A suggested date or time frame I'd suggest would be every 2 weeks or  on the 1st and fifteenth of the month.  Let me know if anyone thinks this is something they'd be interested in.

Thanks for checking in Susie, I'll be doing my measurements tomorrow morning  :-)

March 3, 2009

Height: 5' 5 3/4

Weight: 147.0 lbs (down 3 lbs)

Neck: 13.50

Bust: 37.5 (down 1.5 inches)

Bicep: 11.5 (down .5 inches)

Forearm:  forgot to measure

High waist: 28.5 (down .5 which is back to where I started)

Waist: 30 (down .5 inches)

Butt/hips: 38.5

Thigh: 22 (back to where I started)

Calf: 14

Most of my measurements are back to where they were when I first started. I still have 7 lbs to lose and I'm hoping I will have lost it by my Birthday April 26th or even if I only lose 5 lbs between now and then I'll be happy. hope everyone else is doing well or even maintaining.

I know haven't been as consistant as I'd like to have been but has my group disappeared? I'll do better you guys I promise Laughing

We're here!!! Wink Don't worry! I have just been so scared to measure 'cause I have been so inconsistant in working out. I did it this morning even though I really didn't want to but here you go:

HEIGHT: 5'6"

WEIGHT: 147

BUST: 36

BICEP: 11 (down .5 in-Not good)

HIGH WAIST: 29 (down 1 in)

BUTT/HIPS:36 (down .5)

THIGH: 21 (down 1 inch)

The only reason I'm down I think is 'cause I'm losing muscle so it's not really a good thing. This is so much harder than it used to be for me. I'm bummed right now. Cry I'm hoping the spring/summer days coming up will reinspire me to get out more, and be more active and hopefully drop my 10-15 pounds I want to shed! I'm over winter!

I know how you feel, my measurements fluctuated so much I think I'm back to where I started. I'm going into crazy mode next week. For my SPring break I'm gonna be hittin the gym Hard core to try to drop 2 lbs. Thats a 1000 cal deficit everyday so I know I'm going to have to work hard, especially on SUnday when I especially want to be lazy Laughing

Oh I hear ya! I have been telling myself that every week though...lol...and somehow, every week goes by and nothing changes! I wish I had some time off to really focus but our school (the one I teach at) is off in 2 weeks, and during that time I'm going to San Diego. I'm super excited but I'm going to see friends and get fitted for my friends wedding, and...unfortunetly, I'm not even close to where I want to be! Sunday's are the worst!!! I go to church  and then come home and want to do absolutely NOTHING for the rest of the day! Tongue out I'm always dredding Monday so I feel like  the less I do, the slower the day will go!

Well crazy mode was unsuccessful, however I was able to work out 3 times last week I skipped Friday but forced myself in there on Saturday

Well it's the week before TTOM so I don't know what to expect I'm going to do my measurements tomorrow morning. On a better note, I tried on some jeans I hadn't worn in a couple of months just because they were so darn tight and they fit, a lil snug but not as tight as they were before and they are some of my favorite jeans so maybe I have lost a few inches, we'll see Laughing

CK I hope you enjoy your trip next week.

March 17, 2009

My goal is to lose 15 pounds by the daughter's 2nd birthday June 2, 2009. My initial weight before being pregnant was 162. Full term, I weighed 198lbs. So I am back down to 162 and have been stuck her for the past 6 months. Everyday I think about losing weight. I try to convince myself that I am going to start tomorrow or on Sunday. But those days come and go. I have been watching more weight loss reality shows for motivation. My biggest problem is finding the energy to exercise. I am too tired to get on the treadmill in the morning before work and too tired when I get home. What do I do?

Height: 5' 3.5"

Weight: 162 (stuck here)

Neck: ???

Bust: 39

Bicep: didn't measure yet

Forearm:  didn't measure yet

High waist: didn't measure yet

Waist: 38

Butt/hips: 44

Thigh: didn't measure yet

Calf: didn't measure yet

Okay, it's been almost a month since i posted my last measurements.

Height: 5'4"

Weight: 157.5

Neck: 14.25

Bust: 37..5

Ribcage: 33

High waist (smallest part): 32.25

Bellybutton waist: 35

Hips:39.5 --

Thigh: 23

Calf: 14.5

Bicep: 11.5

Forearm:9.5

Some prgress.

Welcome BodyLove, you just have to get started, if setting a start date doesn't work for you just do it, get on the treadmill. Say I'm going to walk 5 minutes, it may seem like nothing but atleast it will get you started. Then you can start increasing you treadmill time, you'll feel better the more you work out.

Welcome back Karozel, take the little changes too

Thanks for the encouragement. I started by taking out my workout clothes. But that is where it stopped. I thought...If I lay out my workout clothes for the week, then they will be ready to go and all I need to do is put them on.

I know this sounds ridiculous, but the challenge for me is 80% mental. Once I get past that I will be okay.'

Thanks again for the boost. I will let you know how it turns out tomorrow.

Bodylove, if you are having trouble motivating to exercise, read this article:

http://figureathlete.tmuscle.com/free_online_ article/training/burning_fat_is_neat

It talks about just stying active to increase your caloric burn.  Maybe you could start with some of the things listed at the end of the article until you feel ready to exercise.  Maybe you are already doing some of the things recommended.

Why are you so tired?  Is your daughter keeping you up all night?  If it helps at all, I did not really start exercising regularly until my kids turned 4 and 6.  By then they were in school and I had a few hours to myself to go to the gym.  So don't be hard on yourelf.  Try to eat sensibly, take a look at the article and incorporate some of the recommendations into your day, and take it from there.

Good luck.

I'm a bit late with posting but here goes.

Height: 5' 5 3/4

Weight: Finally weighed in at 147 lbs

Neck: 14

Bust: 36.5 (down .5)

Bicep: 11.75 (down .25)

Forearm:  didn't measure

High waist: 28.50 (up 25)

Waist: 30 (down .5)

Butt/hips: 39

Thigh: 21 (down .5)

Calf: 14

How my high waist measurement went up and my navel measurement went down I have no clue, lol Hope everyone else has something good to report Laughing

Nice to see you amayou!  Sounds like you have shrunk a bit!  Are you doing the program again?

I'm not back on it yet I want to get down to my goal weight before I start the program again so I won't be worried about my weight.

March 30, 2009

Height: 5' 3 and a bit (but not quite 5'4)

Weight: 146.5 (down 1.5 pounds this month)

Bust: 39 (no change)

Chest: 32.5 (down 1/4" this month)

Arm: 10.5 (no change)

High waist: 30.5 (down 1/4" this month)

Butt/hips: 36.5 (no change)

Thigh: 20.5 (no change)

To be fair, this was a bad month for me getting workouts in.  I only managed to fit in five NROLFW workouts (and I have yet to do one in April).  I need a kick in the bum!

Atleast you are still making progress (sends susie a KICK).

This is gonna be a weird week for me as well, my church called for a 3 day fast one meal a day and of course water. So who knows how my weight is going to be effected, but atleast my spirits will be lifted :-)
