I've successfully done it before...I lost 27 pounds two years ago using this website...it's time to do it again and keep it off this time!
Life happened and it's time to take contol again. I'm looking to lose 25-30 pounds! I'm 5'8 and I know I've felt the best around 135!
Who's with me? I'm on track for today! :)
Sunday weigh-ins sound good...it will also help me keep myself in line over the weekends. Yup- a half marathon! It's a personal goal- I just started running a few months ago, and now am up to 3.5 miles at a time...it's a struggle, but amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it! The race is in Vegas in December, so we've got plenty of time. Anyway, next goal is the weight loss- I feel like I've been on a "plateau" for months!!! Looking forward to seeing some results!

This has already helped me a lot....today there are cookies at work and since I know I would have to log it and tell everyone that I wasn't on track! You guys have definitely helped already by telling me your stories and struggles...we can do this! :) It's definitely time for me to get honest with myself!

this is my first fourm i have joined on this site....
it really caught my eye.
i lost 22 lbs. on this site last yr. for my 30th high school reunion. i kept it off for a yr. then in the last 2 months, i have put back on 15 of the 22 lbs.... i must "stop the maddness"
i am starting again today.
i am 49 yrs. back up to 170 today, my ideal weight is 150, i am a svelt sitze 10 at that weight and i love weighing 150 at 5'8.
my biggest problem is keeping a routine. i am an internationaly flight attendant and i have NO ROUTINE when i am on the road... weird sleeping, eat when you can, when you can get food, carrying food is difficult, too tired to exercise after being up all night flying... anyway... you get the point... so i will work at it and just DO IT...
looking for some helpful hints from this fourm maybe?
had 350 calories for breakfast, getting ready to look at a walk or the gym, maybe the gym... it is 94 degrees right now in tucson....

I'm with you! I'm about the same height, and want to lose the same amount of weight. 130 is my goal. Let's do it!

Sundays work well for me for weigh-ins.
Today was an insane day and I wasn't able to eat lunch! Never again will I skip a meal...ugh! It was terrible. However, I'm still on track with 1222 cals for today.
only 900 today ... but........... i had enought left over from the last week... not very hungry today... didn't exercise but hope to do that tomorrow....
i did go to the groc. store and picked up good veggies, and other foods that helped me lose 22 lbs. last yr...
one thing that really really helps me.... i know this is weird... but i am a "crunchy, salty" person, i never met a chip or french fry i didn't like....... so......i get corn tortillas, cut them up, pam them, season them w/ cajun seasoning and bake them at 315 degrees until crisp... i can have have 12 chips for 90 cal.(or what ever the count is on the package)
i get my "fix" for crunch and salt.... i will go and count out 6 or more and just count it in my journal.... it really really helps me get through the day.
So...yesterday I had 1150 calories for the day- not too bad! Although I'm noticing that it makes a difference for me where these calories come from. Like- if I have a high protein, low carb day for vs. a higher carb day (both for the same amount of calories...) that it shows on the scale. Anyway, I also ran 4 miles last night, which was great- but I have this bad habit of weighing myself every morning, which can be a depressing way to start the day. I'm up from yesterday- maybe it's just "water weight"...makes me feel better to think that way anyhow! Alright- good luck today everyone!!!
I'm glad you guys all had a good day yesterday! I'm on track again for today! Keep up the good work ladies! I'm at work from 8-8 today so it's going to be tough to keep it on track! I like the tortilla bake idea---sounds yummy! I agree that carbs show on the scale...yesterday my percentages were off, I hate that! I need to work on getting more protein and eating less pretzels :)
Well it's been one week exactly since I started diligently counting calories and so far I haven't really been hungry, have felt better, and I've lost 3.8 pounds! Pretty good motivation, plus you guys!

I'm with svelte2b as far as not weighing myself every day. Last time I took on the "adventure" of losing weight, I weighed myself every day which I believe, at least for me, that it fed my obsession and the chains I felt.
The things I'm going to do differently this time is: 1) I'm going to weigh every Monday morning, not every day; 2) not have a planned cheat day; 3) try not to be so hard on myself if I slip.

i think i will watch the carbs more after reading your posts... i downloaded the tool bar for Calorie count and i like how when i post foods in my "food log" it gives me a grade at the top of the tool bar... it is based on eating "good calories",
right now ....after 1/2 green apple/ 1/5 tlbs. peanut butter, coffee, sugar free creamer my grade is A-
does anyone know how to get the "calorie ticker" ? i see it on a lot of member profiles? i can't find the application .... i have been looking....
off to run errands, packing some cold cuts/ low fat cheese and water

Good call with the peanut butter...I have it on a Thomas' whole wheat mini bagel EVERY morning!

the lowest cal. peanut butter i can find is: natural jiff creamy 140cal. for 2 tbsp.
here is what i have eaten today... i will most likely have a diet frozen dinner for 250 cal.
i don't count carrots, pickles and baby tomatoes... i eat them when i get hungry....
i aim for 1000 but if i go up to 1200, that is fine.... i usually end up around 1100.
so far so good.... this weekend will be a challenge.. i plan to "pre-eat" before i go to our unit BBQ... and bring my own big water supply in a sports squeeze bottle.
lets all keep it down this weekend... together... report back... we can do it....

i think you are on to something w/ the protein..... you do not feel as hungry.i always have cold cuts, and low fat cheese on hand for lows....
going down slowly.... i was 168.8 today, down 1.2 lbs
i lost it very slow last yr. but it did stay off longer.... ahhhhhh the beginning...
going to get my new golf cart today... i will use it to get to the gym !!!
