Anyone want to start with me??
I've successfully done it before...I lost 27 pounds two years ago using this website...it's time to do it again and keep it off this time!
Life happened and it's time to take contol again. I'm looking to lose 25-30 pounds! I'm 5'8 and I know I've felt the best around 135!
Who's with me? I'm on track for today! :)
am 5 7 and 150 lbs. I am 32 YO, married with a 6 yr old kid. I love outdoor activities and exercise. I also love food! I get all gung ho with working out, then hit a slump and make excuses to work out. I love cookies, ice cream and chocolate. I have been struggling to lose 10 stubborn pounds over the last few years. Best I have done is get to 145 then I don't know what happens to me but I eat and eat and eat like my body is starving and am right back at 150. It is frustrating. Just today I went running about 1 1/2 miles. This is a great site that I have discovered today. I will start my food log and exercise log tomorrow. Goal is to be bikini pretty for our vacation on aug 7 and also our 7 year wedding anniversary!
c'Mon Willpower. It's all in my head right?! I CAN DO IT!
Good morning everyone! Okay...so I had a REALLY great weekend, but a REALLY bad weekend as far as food/beer goes. Gained 2 pounds for the weigh-in...didn't write anything down...it's a new week, so a new beginning, right? You all sound like you are doing fantastic! Keep up the good work!!!
Is it just me or are monday's the best days for healthy choices? I've already mapped out my whole day! I tried a new lean cuisine for breakfast because I was running late---it was actually SUPER good!
My plan of action for the week is to SURVIVE. My husband works second shift, I work first with a few later nights here at there. This week we will only see each other for about 5 minutes when I wake him up in the morning to say bye. It's much easier to eat healthy when he isn't around eating his taco bell and culvers though! Let's make this another great week...I'm going to stay under 1300 all week! :)
Hi guys! Sorry I didn't post yesterday. I was busy busy busy all weekend. BUT, even though weekends usually kill me, I did alright this weekend. Considering I went to 4 different barbecues, parades, and the beach twice, I managed to eat MAINTAINANCE which is pretty good considering I also got a decent amount of exercise. I weighed in yesterday at 164.5 but was at 165.5 today...? Well, it happens. I'm gonna claim 165 for this week and hope to claim 163 next Sunday. I have a great plan for this week already. Good luck ladies!!!!
My official weigh-in was today. Lost 2 lbs. which was good especially since it was my brother's birthday and there was stuffed pork tenderloin, cake, and ice cream. Also, I have to be really careful around my parents since I don't want them to know cause I don't want to hear any nagging comments. Last time when I lost 40 lbs., they didn't notice until we went on vacation together - I always wore baggy clothes around them.

sounds like most had a good week and some us not so great... but not awful either.... i have always said i could weigh myself everyday... it didn't matter, i go up and down everyday... i am not going to do that for awhile... it does seem to frustrate me... i am going to try to stick w/ the Sunday weigh in time, once a week... mine will vary some due to being away (my job). i HAVE to weigh in using the same scale or i won't weigh in. i have a great scale that does the BMI and lbs. up to .02
my weight this AM was up, i have been eating pretty well, making good choices, i even exercised yesterday BUT i am going up.... SO... i can't believe i am going to do this.... i am cutting out all alcohol for a week and just see if it makes any difference.
my body is holding to this "set weight" there is an official term for it, but i can't remember what it is.... trying to break down to a lower level....
tucsonmichelle - alcohol kills me too. I honestly believe I would be skinny if it weren't for the booze. I ALWAYS do better if I cut out alcohol. ALWAYS. So good luck to you this week. I'm sure you'll see a difference on the scale because of it.
naturallyd, thanks for the kind words.... it can't hurt... it might be slowing down my metabolism, at 49 is is getting harder to lose weight.. not impossible but harder
Hey all!
Crazzzzzy day, work from 7:30-right now! Sad times at the scale today! Gain of one pound! Weight up from 154.8 to 155.8...just gonna keep on chugging! I had a particularly salty day yesterday, so that's probably it.
Rocking the 1278 cals for today!
I had planned to keep my calories around 1200 today...but then I went to my dad's and he made a pork tenderloin---YUM! I am at 1364 for the day---not too bad! I did notice that I was much more hungry than normal...and I ate mostly carbs today...I need to fix that for the rest of the week! MORE PROTEIN! Good luck on your tuesdays everyone! Those are always rough for me, I never eat enough...I work from 8-5 and then have class from 5:30-9! YUCK!
wow, a good mourning.... heading back down, AGAIN.... maybe the alcohol thing slows it down more than i thought.... it wasn't too hard. i like the ritual, so i poured 1/2 sprint zero ( i NEVER drink soda normally) and 1/2 diet green tea in a big wine glass (ZERO CALORIES) and carried that around all night... very satisfying, going to a dinner party tonight, i think i will do the same tonight.
viten- i am glad you came up with this group. i like that it is small enought to follow everyone AND what helps me is when i see people having a bad weigh in day like me, i can relate... AND when i see some going down, i think it is possible, and i get really happy for those that are trying so hard.
thanks again for coming up with this fourm.

First time user and OMG - desperately seeking advice. Can't exercise because of sciatica and in my "not wanting to give up" attitude - just looking around to see if anyone can point me in the right direction and you guys sounded positive and helpful when I was reading all the comments! Believe me, have tried everything from pills to weight watchers and back again so hoping the natural SAFE approach will work. Can anyone help me get started on this website - anything would be appreciated!
THANKS :)
tuscon---I LOVE THIS GROUP. I can't wait to hear updates on how everyone is doing! I have never been SUPER into the forums...I've been a CC member since 06 and this is the first one I've really gotten into! Thanks to everyone for letting us all into your weight loss journey!
Hey 40ntryintogetfit and welcome! COUNT COUNT COUNT....everytime you think about cheating think about all of us lovely ladies who are here to hold you accountable! That is what works for me! :) Use the tools on this site as a guide to how many calories you should be eating per day. If you can't be active you have to be even more aware of what you are eating. People do it without exercise all the time, and you can too!
You ladies are great!
40tryintogetfit: I hate working out! I always go to the gym for a week and then give up! Something that has worked for me is doing small things...I live in a third floor apt, so I get small garbage bags so I have to go downstairs (and then back up) more often. I park as far away as possible when I run errands. I always take stairs. I walk to the drug store which is a few blocks away. I park on the opposite side of the mall from where the store that I want to go is. I leave books at home so I have to run home between classes. These small changes help a lot! And like vitenser said, COUNT!
Also, good news! Weight is back down from the gain yesterday, down to 154.2!
I was up again this morning. what I find very difficult is how to count calories for casseroles/stews, homemade cabbage rolls that sort of thing. I can do great for breakfast, either toast/cerel etc. Lunch is usually a salad with whatever vegetables I have at home so hard to count that as well. I can count my fruit (which I eat an awful lot off) but I struggle at dinner time unless I have something like a piece of chicken or fish. even if you add up all the ingredients seperately, how do you know what a portion is for calories? I also struggle with the excerise log. I joined a fitness group - twice a week - for 1 1/2 hrs each. We vary doing power walking/jogging, weights/bands etc. There doesn't seem to be anything similiar in the exercise category. Also for walking, i never know how fast 3.5 km a hr is? Is that fast. I walk as a power walk but I don't know how fast that is?
Any suggestions as I am getting really depressed about this weight, gaining and losing the same lbs over and over again. I am 50 so I know my metabolism is slower. I did buy a scale (cheap one at Walmart) but I don't think it works as 1 cup doesn't weight to 250 oz.
Clinging
I had an awesome weigh in today. 163.5! I know we're really only supposed to weigh in on Sundays, but I am a daily weigher, and I just had to post that because I was super excited to see that number. Now, I am one of those whose weight fluctuates minute to minute so it could be up again tomorrow, but here's hoping it won't be!
clinging: keep at it. if you are worried that your metabolism is the problem I would say check with your doc. I'm proud of you for even trying to count those calories---most people would just call it something else all together or just stop counting because it gets time consuming...I guess what I do is log each thing seperately...sauces, spices, oils and all. I got a scale at walmart too...but mine works great? I think it was only like 20 bucks...it has a glass top...not sure what brand it is. Have you tried the manual maybe its on some weird setting. I know I'm not much help but I just want you to think of all that you have already accomplished by logging your calories and becoming more aware of what you are putting in your bod! :)
Naturallyd----it's coming off...whoot whoot! Keep up the good work and keep us posted!
As for me...I had a hard time getting in my calories today---tuesdays are rough because I don't have time to even think about eating! I accepted a promotion cross country today! My family is moving from Madison Wisconisn to Virginia Beach! :) I'm super excited about the new position and about the move...even though this is going to be the most stressful month and a half of my life! I'm even more motivated now to lose the weight..I can't hide under sweatshirts for half of the year in a beach town! DANG! :)
Hi all!
Clinging: don't give up... continue to count and if you started to do some exercise, eat more!! If you eat to little you'll shot your metabolism.. all the times that I was stuck (evil plateau!!) I upped my cals for a week and it worked.. And I agree with vitenser, go see your doc just to be sure everything is alright.. just don't give up please! :)
vitenser: Wow congrats on your promotion!! wooohooo.. Virginia Beach.. ! I went there with my family-in-law 3 years ago.. (at 186 pounds!..) I can relate to the sweatshirts!!! lol ![]()
Naturallyd and Skinnywishes -- cool it's coming off!! Keep up the good work!!!
I have a wonderful week so far.. (I weigh daily too.. but just count it every sunday..) I was down to 148.4 this morning.. 1.5 pound down since sunday...!! But I have a party tomorrow and I know I'll drink wine and beer.. I think I will do a lot of cardio Thursday morning and eat reasonnably in the day.. (making some room for booze) :P
Have a great day!!!
Good morning everyone
Well, I was down a pound on Monday, up a pound Tuesday, so today I'm not looking. I think I'll only weigh on Sunday mornings. Wish me luck, I'm going to start weights this week (one set, very light to start). And I finished all my wine :( I think I'll hold off for a while.
sounds like everyone is doing pretty well on the whole... great...
not much change here just plugging away, down .02 today still no alcohol, yeah...
