I just watched the first 5 episodes yesterday and today online. Seems interesting so far.

I'm all about the True Blood.

I've been a long time reader of Anne Rice and a general fan of the vampire genre. It's nice to see new ideas that take the vampire legend  to a whole new level.

I bet your favorite character is Jason Stackhouse. haha...

Yup!  I'm only up to episode 3 or 4 (whichever one has "the Granny ending") so no spoilers!  Husband already ruined some of it.  He told me what Sookie and Sam are.  Jerkwad.

the 'granny ending' is where I am too, which is episode 5.

did he read the books?

I wonder what Sam is, he barks in his sleep, I'm thinking he's connected to that dog somehow...like telepathically? So he can watch Sookie that way.

I hope Sookie stops being...well her...she's a bit annoying.

Oh!  5 episodes already.  Nope, husband didn't read the books but the whole whimpering and barking in his sleep thing caused him to go look it up.  In the first or second episode there is a picture in Sam's office of a collie looking over a little blonde girl, which kinda gives it away (in a way).  He is connected to the dog.  I don't know what Sam and Sookie are going to be on the show.  It may be different from what it is in the books.  If you'd like to know what they are in the books, I'll tell ya.

I think I've figured out who is doing the murders.  Who do you think it is?

I agree, Sookie is annoying.  I love Tara and Lafayette though.

Sam is a shape shifter, he is the dog. hahaha.. I spoiled it for you.

So how are they in the same scene then?

If they don't say in the next episode, I might get you to tell me Jewels :P

I'm not sure who I think is the murderer, I know they're trying to make Sam look like he did it, but it's usually not the obvious person who is the killer :D

Ha! already figured that - however I thought he was a Loup Garoux. - edit: since you see him playing with the dog in one scene.

Love the show - will immerse myself in the books after.

Also - can I just say Alexandar Skarsguard is really, really cool?

Ive been having trouble watching it online.  But as soon as it comes out on dvd Im buying it!  The series is based on a collection of books written I believe in the 70's by a lady named Charlaine Harris.

Most people think True blood is a rip off of Stephene Meyer's series called Twilight and the upcoming movie of the same name and I thought so as well but now I think its the other way around!!

I'm so hooked on that show.  The first episode was during a free HBO weekend and I had to order it immediately.

Lafayette slays me.

Love Cajuns :D

I watch it on sidereel.com - being in Canada too, we apparently aren't allowed to watch shows from some American sites :(

I love it!

We watch it on The Movie Network.  It's on TMN OnDemand too.

The books "The Southern Vampire" series, is one of my all time favorite series. I have a hard time watching the show since they have changed a lot and the books are a ton better. I like the show though and had I never read the books I am guessing I would like it a lot more, my husband never read the books and he likes it just fine, so I think its just me wanting it to be more like the books.

The books were not written in the 70s, they are very recent, her most recent one came out just a few months ago. The first one came out in 2001 and there are 8 of them so far. I just reread the first 2 again since it had been so long since I had read them, and they are still great books.

More Alexander Skaarsgard, please :)

I don't get it.  A lot of people think he is "yummy."  Maybe I just don't like blondes.

This new character named Amy is enthralling and so sexy.  It's just too bad she is addicted to V.

V seems to be like a very strong opiate that has physiological and psychological withdrawal symptoms. I would try it if I could get a ride to the vampire bar in Shreveport.

I was hooked when I saw him in Generation Kill.

Love me some special forces dudes. :D

I don't have HBO, but I did see the pilot.

But I'm a huge fan of the books. They are funny and very cleverly written...much better than the show, as books usually are :)

Oh yes...and his character in the books is very yummy indeed :) Eric plays a big role in the books...
