Anyone watching the show True Blood?
I just watched the first 5 episodes yesterday and today online. Seems interesting so far.

I liked Jason in this episode, he was smartening up with Amy (who I won't miss haha).
I still don't know who this war guy is?
And is anyone else still wondering what happened with that lady in the bushes that helped Sookie in the first episode? And in the second episode? (assuming it's the same one)...I was kind of wondering if she's the same one helping Tara, but then again I also have that feeling like kathy that she's bad news...
wow.... I must have not been paying attention
I don't remember a lady in the bushes helping sookie.... I think i'll rewatch the first episode in a little while.
A woman in the bushes? Wha...?
Rene. Sadness if it's him.
I just figured the chain tightened because of the velocity with which she threw it - but now I think about it - it did tighten while he was standing there.
Yes - will need to revisit those episodes.
I'm pissed.
You were right, it's René!
How did you come to this conclusion?
I watch a lot of movies. I was one of those jerks who figured out The Sixth Sense well before the end.![]()
It had to have been one of the men on the show. It wasn't Jason. It wasn't Andy or the Sheriff because that doesn't make good tv. It wasn't Terry because he's too wimpy. I never thought it was Sam. He's too much of a nice guy. It wasn't a vamp because no one fed on the bodies. It couldn't have been Hoyt because he's...well...he's Hoyt. That just leaves Rene or some unknown character. To bring in an unknown as the killer would have made bad tv also.
Process of elimination. For awhile I was thinking there were two murders because of the difference in the m.o. of Granny's killing and the fang banger killings. Tonight took care of that theory though. *sad*
God I hope that wasn't Lafayette in Andy's car.
Please let it be Tara's mom. Please let it be Tara's mom. Please let it be Tara's mom.
I'm afraid it's Lafayette. Bill mentioned feeding to recover but I don't think he would feed on Lafayette... or would he... dumdumdum.
Jessica is my new least favorite character. It used to be Amy.
Whelp, at least Rene wasn't really a Cajun. :)
Hmmm. 'Know any sweet vampire girls?" I'm thinkin' Jessica takes that ole boy for ride.
It was 2 weeks later at the end of the show - dunno how it could suddenly be Lafayette?
I think the pig lady is not a shape-shifter. I think she's a werewolf.
Still dig Sherriff Eric of area 5. :)
I don't think Bill fed on Lafayette. He was taken by someone/something then turned up dead two weeks later. So it's the politican, Eric and Pam, or maybe the pig lady.
Even if he did feed on Lafayette, he wouldn't have killed him.
Yeah...that's true. Just sucks we have to wait till next summer to find anything out.
ha! 'sucks'

I couldn't be bothered looking up this thread last night, looks like you guys covered everything I was going to say (even the 'at least he wasn't really Cajun' :P)
Was a really good episode I thought, and I'm glad it didn't end off on too big of a cliff hanger. I agree if it's really Lafayette in the car that he was taken and killed later, because I was thinking how can a main character just die in 2 seconds of the episode and there not be any more on him. Given how the show makes twist/tries to make you think something, it could be someone else and he's still hostage.
Not liking that Jessica is around, she doesn't follow rules, she might go after Sookie (who's probably going to make a fit like she usually does, forgetting the things Bill keeps doing for her). Also not liking Jason going to the church of that religion/cult, he had just changed his mind about vampires.
It sucks i can't really respond to this thread at all. Since I have read all the books I already know the answers to all these questions, so they wouldn't be guesses. Grr! It is frustrating not being able to talk about the show, I actually liked it by the end of the season, though I didn't like it at first since I kept wanting to compare it to the book.

I was really confused when I first read this. I was positive I never saw a woman in the bushes. Today i was reading a different forum where someone else brought this up. Apparently there is a unaired original pilot episode that was not aired on HBO, but is available online. The unaired pilot has a lady in the bushes helping Sookie and a few other minor changes that HBO took out when they changed the pilot. I am not positive but I think someone also said that Tara was played by a different actress in the unaired pilot.
Some people watched all the episodes online so they saw this woman in the bushes, while others like myself saw all the episodes on HBO and never saw a woman in the bushes, so this is where the confusion comes from.
Yes I did watch them online, and yep Tara was a different girl in it. I wonder how the HBO episode went...like did the chain still tighten? Who fought off Sookie's attackers?
I had to re-watch parts of the first and second episode to be sure of this. This is the HBO pilot that i saw:

Sookie throws the chain and it goes around the guys neck really hard. Then a little later they show a close up of him and it looks like the chain is tightening around his neck on its own. Hes struggling with it and he can't get it off. When I first watched it I just figured she threw it so tight he couldn't get it off, but I now see it tighten around his neck.
I think they must have taken the lady in the bushes out but left what she did in. I think this was due to storyline spoilers involving the book. They didn't want to give stuff away, but for some reason they didn't edit out there part where the chain tightened. Maybe you are just supposed to wonder why, or maybe it was a mistake after the lady was edited out, not sure.
On the second episode it is Bill that helps Sookie. He is really fast when he attacks them so he looks like a blur, but I am almost positive it is Bill helping her at the start.
I was just introduced to this show last week..... (no HBO here and not a huge tv fan....)
I sat there and watched the entire season online in two days.... I was HOOKED! Very tastefully done and S E X I N E S S, oh my!
