Anyone yawns a lot at gym?
I felt myself is so weird, I kept on yawning when I was doing strength trainning...I felt my training is boring and I actually did it slower and slower...
What should I do?
Yup, I also yawn during rests sometimes. :) But only when doing weights. I think when I`m engaged in cardio my heart rate is usually so high that I don`t have time to get relaxed enough to be able to yawn during a short break.
Make sure you are breathing through your nose as much as possible. Breathing through your nose sends the signal to your brain that it has oxygen. A few long slow deep breaths through the nose and exhaled through the mouth should stop the yawning... unless you are truly sleepy that is.
I was with my trainer at the gym doing some hardcore exercises when I yawned lol she saw it as a sign that we needed to kick it up a notch. So, just dont yawn while with a trainer.
This always happens to me during spin class. I feel so bad like I am insulting the instructor! I feel like I read some where that your body yawns to get oxygen to your brain, to wake you up when you are tired, so I guess my brain needs more oxygen when I am spinning!
Again, I have no medical training/education, so don't take this as a serious diagnosis!
That is so weird that you brought up yawning, every time I take a walk, I yawn and I don't have any idea why I do that??? Does anyone really know why that happens.... thanks
I yawn ALOT at the gym!! Even when it's a fast and furious workout and I'm never bored...
my theory about yawning is that a yawn is just your body's way of getting the air it needs at the moment. So many people connect it to being tired, when that's not always the case. I sing, and I tend to yawn a lot while singing, too. In both cases, I think it's just that my body isn't getting the type of breath that it wants, so I end up yawning to get all the air in!
some people think yawns help cool the brain, as well, so it would be natural that we yawn more when we are working otu (and getting hot) or preparing for bed, when are bodies naturally cool down a bit!
I yawn all the time too - even during cardio and kick boxing, but also hot yoga and pilates. I have no idea why but I can't help it! I try to hide it though so the instructor doesn't 'punish' me and work me harder.
Yawning is also a sign of "release" so it can also be a sign of toxins being released through workout and also of stress-release and / or pain release and your body "feeling better". This is a classic sign noted by horses during muscle release therapy (Bowen/Reiki call it what you will) and during physiotherapy, etc. I do it during and after chiropractor has worked on me - so it might not be as bad a thing as your instructors think and they shouldn't push you harder, but recognise that your body is releasing and actually beginning to work, as well as taking in more oxygen. It is the time they should let you have a small rest to let your body adjust and then carry on. We would never carry on really pushing a horse if it was beginning to yawn during a healing/physio session - we would give it a break and a rub and then start again. JMHO and another angle on it. Same when I have been working out - sometimes yes, our brains "go to sleep" to stop us working out and pushing it, but often times it is simply release of toxins and I will take a 30 or 60sec break and then into it again.
