Anyones lost 30-40 pounds???
How many pant sizes did you lose?
I have lost 36 pounds since February 2009 and I am still waering the same clothing I wore when I was 181. They are extremely too big and unattractive.I am at the point that I absolutely have t buy new clothin but I dont even know where to start. Here are my stats below....any ideas?

I used to wear a size 12/14 in pants and in dresses. I am now a size 8 in both pants and dresses.
If I were you I would just go to the store and pick the next size down from the pants you currently have that are too big. If they are too big, move down another size. Lather, rinse, repeat until you find a comfy size. Have fun with this!! :)
If you don't want to spend a lot of money because you're expecting to still be losing, then go to a consignment shop to see if they have some clothes that would work for you.
Congrats!! That is Awesome!
Grab some stuff off of the rack, hit the changing room, and see how good you look now!!
Hi jayz_gal2004! How frustrating that must be. I would definitely hit the dressing room ASAP! Well, the experts usually say every 15 pounds or so you drop a dress size. You lost about 36 pounds, which means about 2 dress sizes. Take it from there and see what fits. I lost about 39-40 pounds and 2 dress sizes. Here are my current stats

I was wearing an 11 when I started and now am in a 3 - or in womens a 10 and now a 2. However, lots depends on the brands and when I was 143 pounds there were some size 9's I could squeeze into.
I've got down 36lbs from 190 to 154. Started at a size 16 (which was tight) and am just about down to a 10 (some too tight, some just about right, depending on brand). That's for pants. In a dress, I easily fit into a 10.

So, my stats are pretty close to yours, assuming we're of similar height. (I'm 5'4.) I started at pants size 12-14 and am now wearing size 6-8 (usually a 6). Those are US/Canadian sizes; add 4-6 to each number if you're in the UK.
I started out wearing a size 8 then was able to slim down to a 2. My current 2's don't fit right anymore (maybe I streached them out) but I hate the thought of going out and buying new clothes. It took me quite awhile to buy new clothes the time round because I was afraid that I would gain the weight back. Now I'm going through that again with the 2's. They are not too comfy but I can get away with it wearing a belt and long shirts to cover the bunching at my waist. I've discovered that there is not one true size. I can put on a medium sweater that is too loose and then the small will be too tight. I bought a pair of x-lg pants in the kid section yesterday. They are a little loose but they fit my butt better than a small in the adult sizes. (I lost my butt in my adventure of weight loss.) I even bought some footed pajama's in the kid section. LOL. The large fit perfect but the x lg had room to grow cuz I know I will. Plus there was a $10 difference between the junior and adult pjs. Anyhoo... I understand the problems with weight loss and new clothes. They are too expensive to have to go out and buy and then wind up having to buy a smaller size.
I started out at 128lbs and have lost 34lbs since January.
First off: Congrats on so much loss! It's going to feel *fantastic* for you when you put on the smaller sizes that show off your new thinner body!

I started out as a 9/11 juniors, no idea in womens. Now I'm a 0-2 women, and 3 juniors. I also found that my adult body shape simply does not fit so well in junior cuts. I don't have a big curvaceous frame, but much curvier than a growing teen:) So I'd say about 3 sizes down would be a good place for you to start looking. Keep in mind that if the size you're trying on is a tad snug, it'll fit once you've lost a little more. I made the mistake of not buying smart earlier on, and have a few brand new pairs of pants that won't stay up :p Target has amazingly good jeans, btw!
I started at 181.4 and wore about a 14, though my clothes were very tight on me. I'm around 140 now and wear an 8 at the smallest, but around a 10 or 12. I'm 5'4" by the way.
i'm around your weight and wear a size 10
i was 167 when i started and went down like 3 or 4 sizes

Wow! I'm 5'2.5" , 94 lbs, and I can't fit into a 0. I must have a bigger frame. I'd love to wear a 0.
I've lost 49lbs and went from a UK size 16 to a UK 10 (I'm 5' 6"). I started at 175lbs late November 2008 and am now 126lbs as of this month, which is what I was in my late teens to mid 20's but when me and my partner moved in together we got really bad eating habits and I ballooned. I still count calories to make sure I don't overeat and I never have takeaways as that was part of my problem.
Ive lost 87 pounds since February i went from 210 to 123 currently i want to get 115 im short i went down alot of pants sizes I can wear a size 6 now .
It's difficult to tell really, because size is so not limited to weight. For example - when I was 255 pounds, I wore a size 16, sometimes 18 (which was big on me), and now I wear a size 12-14 (and for some clothes, 12 is big on me), while I weight 202 pounds. But I have a lot of muscles from skating for 10 years, big boobs, etc, which influences my size vs my weight. I have a friend who is very tall and big-boned and when she was anorexic and weighted 120 pounds (and she's 6'2", so that's WAY below healthy for her), she still wore a size 12.
So, the only solution, I think, is to try clothes. See what fits. It'll be frustrating at first, and I was so terrified and wide eyed the first time I went shopping because I just stood there with no idea what fit me and what didn't, and what looked better on me now, but you just start trying on things and you'll learn what to look for.
Since you still want to lose some weight, I suggest this, which is what I did:
- Clean out your closet. Try EVERYTHING. Everything that is too big or that you don't wear anymore, give to charity (or sell). Everything that might be a bit baggy, but still fits you well enough (for now), keep.
- Get a good pair or jeans. You can get a cheap one since it'll probably last you only until you hit your goal weight, but one that fits you well. You can get a dressy pair of pants in neutral with the same things in mind.
- Get a few (one or two) fitted jackets that you'll be able to wear over the shirts that might be a tiny bit baggy, but will be given definition with your jacket on.
- Wide belts can be a good investment too, because you can wear them over the baggy shirts, it'll clinch your waist and you'll be able to wear the belts even after you lost more weight.
But really, it's about getting some key items and not investing too much in them, since they're most likely only transition clothes. But if you get good items, they might still serve you well when you lose more weight.
I started at 158, size 13 and currently I am at 128 and I am wearing a size 8, but that is beginning to feel a little large on me also.
Once I bought some new clothes I did like emilie said and tried EVERYTHING on... I threw out anything that was too big for me. Well, I didn't throw it away, I donated it. It just keeps me motivated to keep the weight off and to keep losing weight. :)
Congrats on the loss.
I have lost 87.2 lbs since April and have gone down many sizes..
I just go to the Thrift stores and buy 2 pairs of pants at a go and a couple of shirts and I have a really good belt lol I still have a long way to go but I feel great as I imagine do you!!!
