apple cider vinegar

Quote  |  Reply

I bought it and now I don't know what to do with it.  I hear it helps make your skin look nice, but it was kind of an impulse purchase.

Can anyone give me a way to use it?

(I hear it makes a nice salad dressing, but could someone give me a recipe?)

Here's a good fat free salad dressing

1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp honey
1/2 to 1 tsp dijon mustard

whisk together until smooth.  Makes 1/2 cup of dressing.

There are many health claims and old wives tales about the benefits of apple cider vinegar, but I don't know if they are true.  I do know that they are talking about unfiltered, unpasturized vinegar.  My favorite brand is Bragg's because I like the taste and aroma.  Their website has all kinds of information.

Thanks clairelaine!  I will definitely try that!

I always put apple cider vinegar in my chili, with a little sugar to balance.  And it makes a great stir-fry sauce - 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp vinegar, 1-2 tsp sugar (to taste) ... good stuff.

It is also good as part of a marinade, though I usually use regular vinegar or lemon juice.  It helps break down the muscle fibers of the meat and make it more tender.

- Flaxseed Oil

- Dijon Mustard

- Apple Cider Vingar

- A little Water

**This dressing recipe is a staple in my house hold!!! And I don't have measurements because when my mom or I make it, we eye ball it! All I know is to not put too too much vinegar in or else it gets a tad tart! Otherwise though - it rocks!

Thank you all for your suggestions!  I can't wait to try them!

as gross as it sounds...and is, I mix 15ml in 8 oz H2O and chug it twice a day. My skin looks great and supposedly it is cleansing. I usually do it right before a meal so my apetite isn't as voracious either.
